Weekly chart added. 2 hours of coding just to get the SQL query right :/

Another coder might really help, but I can't afford to pay one. I'm still looking for ways to fund development of bitcoincharts so I could spend a few weeks adding all those missing features fulltime.

Be happy to take on some of the workload...

weekly intervals: I'll add that soon, but I need to teach my SQL queries to know about weekstarts (same for months).

BTC vs. Gold is still on my todo, though low priority.

@tcatm
Again, congrats, this is fabulous.
There are two things that be also be very helpful.

The first one is adding weekly time fram for the charting tool. This would enable me to do a better longterm analysis, now that the bitcoin exchange is almost celebrating its first birthday (bitcoinmarket started in May 2010).

The second one is probably a bit more difficult, which is adding a comparison option of BTC vs. Gold Spot prices. We have talked this before, and I dont know how feasible this is.

Perhaps a coder can help out.

The benefit would be that the LAYMEN would immediately see that bitcoins are the #1 investment of all on the planet, even better as gold. (and also silver)

I like your market depth charts.  They appear to be true histograms, unlike the one on Mt Gox.  However, I don't see any orders above 1.4, even though Mt Gox shows something like 20,000 currently.

Edit: It seems to be working now, 14 Apr 1500Z.

There's a race condition that causes only part of the histogram/data table to be displayed sometimes. It will be fixed soon.

Any chance we could get shorter time frames than 15 minute candles?

1-min and 5-min intervals added

It would be nice if there was an estimate for when the next change in difficulty will be. I know you're short on space, but displaying it when hovering over the difficulty/estimated text would be enough. Getting an update on the estimate is almost always my reason for visiting your site.

On the bitcoincharts.com chart section, I fail to be able to copy and save the images for my technical analysis. I can only post links, but that is suboptimal. Do you have the same issue?
That's my hotlink prevention. I found a lot of sites hotlinking the charts and while the engine is very efficient I still didn't like the server load. I'll disable it for now. When I enable it again someday, I'll make sure to include a "download this chart" link.

Btw: You can tweak the &width=xxx&height=yyy parametes for the chart if you prefer different sizes for your analysis:

Code:
http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/chart.png?width=500&height=200&m=mtgoxUSD&t=S&v=1

The new site is great.

Just one thing:

The MtGox order book is reduced significantly. It seems the order depth has been reduced from full order book to only a fraction.

Any idea why this is the case?

Full orderbook via websocket is broken (probably due to changing servers) so it falls back to the reduced orderbook available via HTTP

I love that it works on my iPad - a lot of charting services don't.

In the top right corner, the difficulty value is overwritten by the current Dte and time.
