I don't think it's necessary. Looks like it stays fairly cool maxed out. AMD didn't make a vanilla for this model. Instead they gave everything over to the companies so they can design their own cooling."Overclocked to 1160 Core and 6600 Effective Memory at default voltage settings. With a 3 slot cooler temp hit 68C running Heaven 3.0 with settings maxed out. Being a enthusiest I had to have this card."
