That was the website I used...I'll get screenshots when I am home, but thanks for the info...looks like I may need to invest in a machine then...is the turnover pretty good? I'd like the hobby to pay for itself if possible and right now the other miners do not. I've had Bitcoin Miner running on my desktop since last August and it earned a grand total of $7 LOL

Okay  I thought it was this mining manager that you were using.

You have multiple direction to head in when you mine.

First to ask is what is your tolerance for noise and heat?
Second to ask do you have 110/120 power or 220/240 power

If you have 110/120 power
If you want a quiet miner

sidehack makes the r606 miner that does BTC direct. it is not noisy and he has a thread here.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/gekkoscience-newpac-terminus-r606-bm1387-official-support-thread-5053833

here is an image of it

Terminus R606:

do not expect to turn a profit with it. but you can learn from it.

It is small  say 5 inches by 4 inches by 4 inches  IIRC

Here is a modified machine I built

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.51660368

this is a riff of my idea
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/my-s9-heater-version-5213936

it may be better then my idea.

Do not expect any of the above gear to make a profit.

But they have a purpose in the world of mining.

He may be browser mining.

I cpu mine xmr on nice hash and they auto convert the xmr coin to btc coin.

Since I am not sure of what he is mining yet.  Or how he mines it I do not know where to direct him.

It seems he's talking about this "MultiMiner" Managing/Monitoring tool for GPUs, ASICs, and FPGAs

This is helpful thanks for the explanation on machines, I need to see pay-off a little first before I invest in more equipment....so right now I have the miner DLed on my desktop and it prompted me to set up a pool which I did with Poolin.com although I am unsure if it is configured properly and the help menus are all in Chinese I think. It took me a sec to realize I needed to drop my malware protection to run it but was finally able to open it up using the exe file....so a couple of things here, 1. I don't see any launcher for this miner, 2. the GUI or interface does not quite look like the pics shown on the website so I am guessing the DL requires some sort of update but haven't figured that out yet, and 3. I just need to learn my way around it since it is different than the other plug and play apps like Bitcoin Miner which I am guessing does all of this behind the scenes for me.

Where actually did you download it?
This should be the correct domain(multiminerapp.com) where you can download this tool.

It seems that the developer here on the forum is not active since 2018 you can check their official thread from here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/multiminer-any-miner-any-where-on-any-device-free-open-source-cross-platform-248173
But they are actively developing this tool their last commit is last Feb 5(Last month) according to their GitHub page from here https://github.com/nwoolls/MultiMiner

If you don't have ASIC or FPGA machines you can only use this tool to mine altcoin GPU or CPU mining.
Read the GitHub page there is a guide you can follow how to set up the tool to mine altcoin for GPU or CPU but you can't mine Bitcoin(Unless if you have ASIC sha256 miner.)

However, if the images show different from your miner/tool you might be downloaded a fake one. Better make a screenshot of the DLed/Tool what it looks like and post it here.

This is going to sound like a noob response but I have no idea. I DLed the files to my Windows machine if that is what you meant. Not sure what an asic is yet.
If you downloaded it to your windows PC and run it means that you are mining with your PC.

ASIC is another machine that you can mine with specific algo. Like antminer s9 where you can mine only sha256 algo Bitcoin or Bitcoin cash. Or any sha256 algo coins.

Much better make a screenshot if what type of file you download and how did you run the miner.

You might be talking about cloud mining? I tried to use the keyword "multiminer" on the Google SERP and the result shows multi miner cloud mining?

ASIC miner looks like

HI, I'm new, I'm sure this has been posted in the thousands of topics listed but I just fired up MultiMiner. My GUI doesn't look like any of the pics from the website and I am not sure how to read everything yet to ensure it is even mining properly.

What gear do you use a gpu mining rig or an asic.
