Yes there are good sites you can try on but ofcourse 0.5 btc is a big money for you to gamble. If I were you just use some of your btc and try some casinos but the rest try it for investment. Remember casinos/gambling are too risky it's not good for some newbie to invest in gambling.

the 0.5 bitcoin is already a big amount of money so the first thing to do is making sure if you can afford gambling this much money because it will always be a risky thing.

then you should know that a big amount can be good if you start with small bets because it helps you have something to fall back on in case you lost so you can continue making bets and win it back.

He is not asking for how to get a free bitcoins but asking how to make profits from gambling.

I suggest better you don't enter to gambling because in gambling you need to spend money to get entertainment so it is not suitable for your requirement. The best gambling sites for me are Primedice for dice ,Cryptogames for the rest casino games and directbet for sports betting.
As for the tips,there is not any strategy that can guarantee that you will win forever,gambling is more about luck than anything else.

Yep Betking is legit you can divest and withdraw your funds right away and I haven't had any issues with the site. The thread only shows the number because the returns changes constantly so he updates it weekly for each site.

moreover if you are definite with mind that you want bet with your btc then i will suggest you to gamble at roll.in and also there are some also other sites like black jack , seconstrade.com .

i wouldn't suggest gambling on freebitco.in if i were you, that site have 5% house edge while most of the trusted dice site only have 1% and some have .5% and .8% so why would you gamble on freebitco.in and give your money to the house with 5x of the HE if you can play on other sites with lower HE? if you are playing only from the faucet then there is no problem but since the OP is asking for a gambling site which he can use his .5BTC then freebitco.in is not the thing for him

I don't think you can win money just by following those youtube videos strategies because this game results will not repeat same again in the future. So each game is unique and if you follow those tips then you may lose all your money within no time. Gambling is not for making profit so you consider to invest somewhere to grow your money unless you need a fun then go for gambling.

Correct, 0.5 BTC is not that big amount, but even you play with larger than that amount as a bankroll, there is no guaranty in gambling. What is the guaranty that you will not get consecutive losses in dice at the beginnings itself? It all depends on only luck so please don't suggest that there is guaranty way one can earn money from gambling.
