I have missed a lot of things in this ~2 week leave. I wish I hadn't took a leave in this period. You became mod, QS' shady actions brought to light etc... Anyway, congrats! Keep up your good work! I think you will become a patroller soon! Wink
Thank you. You seem like a nice person even though we did not have much interaction. Maybe one day (thank you).  Smiley

Congratulations LaudaM!
Thank you Welsh!

Patrollers deal with all newbies. However, they are powerless when it comes to any member with a higher rank. A patroller technically isn't lower than a moderator, they're different. A moderator is a lower rank than a global moderator (as they are comparable).

I would see Moderator and Patroller as different roles.
Correct.

Update:

Thank you as well.

I would see Moderator and Patroller as different roles. Moderator vs. Global Moderator vs. Administrator is something you could compare, but being a Patroller is just an extra role IMO.

Hmm isn't it like patroller is lower rank than Mod?

doesnt look like it, seems to me that patrollers have more power than just moderators. im assuming moderators only have power in their respective sections, while patrollers are also given power over newbie posts/accounts.

 -Mitchell's post-

AFAIK, moderators* have all the powers of patrollers but patrollers can only handle newbies. CMIIW.

* Local moderators can't handle users(incl. newbies) in main boards unless admins give the power to do so.

Edit:

Thank you. You seem like a nice person even though we did not have much interaction. I would love to help, but it's not up to me (thank you for this as well).  Smiley

Patrollers deal with new members posts. They don't deal with higher ranked members unless, they are a moderator of a specific section.

I see you've moved pretty fast several threads I've reported in Marketplace too (example). How does it work? Can you do that just because it was posted by a newbie? Can any staff member do that in any board? Or does 'Beginners & Help' let you do that? (Just curious)

And congratulations LaudaM!
Yeah, I like to handle my reports quickly if I'm able to do so. As a Patroller I can move any thread and remove any thread/post made by a newbie. I can also nuke their account if I deem it to be necessary (spam, bots, etc). I As a moderator of a section (like I am in the ones listed) I can move any thread and remove any thread/post no matter what their rank is. I cannot nuke anyone above the newbie rank, nor can I ban anyone of any rank. I hope this clarifies it for you.

Patrollers can moderate newbies no matter what section they're in. A moderator for a specific section can moderate any posts/threads within that section. Thank you as well.

Now, let me explain this properly. Anyone who has ANY position within the staff will be labeled as staff in EVERY section that he does not moderate (different rules apply for global moderators and admins). This means that if you go to the Croatian section you will see 'Moderator' under my name. If you go to the Dutch section you will see 'Moderator' under Mitchell. To answer your original question, a moderator and staff is not the same. A moderator is just one position, and is part of the "group" staff.

Croatian section. I hope that this clears things up. If you have any more questions it would be better if you ask me via PM.
Yeah you cleared it hell crystal.
i hope you become legendary soon, would be very nice ...?isint it ?
