"NVLink is also available on gaming GPUs - specifically on the GeForce RTX 2080 and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Connecting two cards with NVLink requires a special NVLink connector, which is sold separately."
"Traditionally when rendering on multiple graphics cards, V-Ray GPU duplicates the data in the memory of each GPU, but with NVLink the VRAM can be pooled. For example, if we have two GPUs with 11GB of VRAM each and connected with NVLink, V-Ray GPU can use that to render scenes that take up to 22 GB. This is completely transparent to the user — V-Ray GPU automatically detects and uses NVLink when available."

Bitcoin FTW!
If you're using a reshipping service like UsGoBuy or Reship.com, etc, be prepared to go through identification if needed and you'll be fine. Reshippers usually do this for higher-value orders from bigger retailers to prevent reshipping fraud, and it can be a bit of a hassle if you're not prepared for it.

As for what's cheapest and works best, I have found MyUS and Shipito have been the best. Still costs a bit to ship to a few countries, but you'll generally still save over buying in your own country if you happen to have inflated prices.

Does anyone in USA want to act as a middle man and line up a 2080ti AIB for me?

I pay with newegg and ship to your address
You forward to my address
I pay you in crypto for postage + profits

Edit: oh, I just noticed everything is out of stock now.
No need for some unsafe and unknown middleman : usgobuy.com
They will generate a pseudo address to their shipping location in the US and you select the shipping service you want. They will ship it back to you

If rumours are to be believed, AMD would reveal/release their 7nm lineup before the end of the year.

Could this be the first time in years that Team Red takes over the top spot in terms of raw GPU power?

One thing's for sure: no 20xx GPUs for me.

Indeed, even if AMD do not released their new lineup this year, the pricing of the 20xx series is just out of wack even for a gamer perspective.
Amds tech is so blase next to nvidia though... deep learning chips? built in Ai
Amds 7nm would have to be something special in terms of raw power

My supplier quote $15000 HKD or $1923 USD for 2080ti  Shocked
Last year they sold me $640 1080tis with free Destiny 2.

Good thing amazon or newegg + freight forwarder still works.

nvidia need to get their roi on r&d before amd's 7nm comes, so reason these gpus are so much expensive, nvidia want fast money so they can use it on 7nm r&d, with the gtx 1xxx series nvidia had 3 years to get their r&d back, with their rtx 2xxx, nvidia have a maximum of 12 months to get their r&d roi back, drastic times requires drastic measures hehe

lol, even nvidia get a shorter roi time, with these prices, they are targeting 12 months, crypto miners roi target right now for most is 5 years hehe

this why i envy you guys over the pond, it's even more expensive here in south africa, current zar to $ is R14.17 - $1 at those rates the 2080Ti costs $1,647.98 as per this link https://www.evetech.co.za/nvidia-rtx-2080-ti-south-africa/x/314.aspx  compered to $1,199 (as per op 1st post) it's a $448.98 difference but that's the price if you want the latest and greatest lol.

soon i guess, you will not need to envy them at all regarding electronics price, the way things are going, soon trump will increase import tax from 5% to 25% - 50% and then US people will understand how painful really is when your are screwed by your own government hehe

I think nvidia priced the cards to keep miners away for a while.  They didn't want miners scooping them up in bulk before gamers had a chance to get their hands on them.  If nothing else, it should keep the value of the 1000 series a little higher on the secondary market before nvidia starts dropping prices before Christmas.

I am pretty sure they main purpose of pricing it so high is not to keep it away from miners. If they price it way too high then pretty much no gamers will buy and gamers will just buy some 2nd hand (retired mining GPUs) from eBay and SLI them together and will get a much better speed than with the flagship model. Basically 2 of the 1080ti will probably outperform the single 2080ti and will probably cost less if bought used.

Right now mining is not profitable and even if the GPUs were very cheap, miners wouldn't buy them. Everybody right now is jumping ship.
That doesn't make sense. If they kept the price low then miners would have bought the gpus and prices would have inflated to reach current msrp, so it would still be same for gamers. But you are saying even if prices were low miner will not buy them...you are contradicting yourself.

Haha what a sad year for nVidia. Well, here's hoping I don't get gouged too much on a mobile GPU - I've been sitting on my almost 5 year old gaming laptop and had to really control myself and not buy a laptop with a GTX 1060 or 1070. If nVidia doesn't behave even with mobile RTX pricing I'm going to jump to a laptop with Vega when 7nm mobile comes out next year.

In the mean time I've been having LAN parties at my house and each of my 6 machines has SLI or crossfire high end cards stolen from my mining rigs  Shocked

Who knew these video cards could be used to play games!?!  Grin
