TWC made us wait like an extra 6 months for the sol-noctis v2's - I recall having to email them over and over asking about when they would ship.

So... Not a fan of their pre-orders, but do love the original Sol Noctis 0.01BTC coins. Smiley

Oh I agree, these are some of my favorite coins period, not just in the physical bitcoin world.  They feel heavier than a typical 1 oz, the hologram shape and design is like any other, and just an all around very unique coins/design.  That said, I do not trust the value there long term one damn bit.  These sell for a pretty solid profit on ebay, so why on earth did they sweep so many bulls and eagles and then just sell the silver instead of selling funded and making a higher profit?  Perhaps they were taken by a chargeback or something, but perhaps they don't trust the "team" that funded them, once finding out about the Bulls sweep thing.  I dunno..too much shady shit surrounding these coins now. Such a shame.

A happy ending, I was refunded my Paypal deposit for the pre-order, so at least TWC made good.

Thank you for keeping us updated.  I had little doubt that they wouldn't, they are a big coin dealer, they don't want to damage their image in that way.. However, the pace at to which they respond to customers/issue refunds is a red flag and shows a lack of professionalism that will keep me from ever buying anything from them again.

One thing I wanted to add, TWC does not seem to be great with customer service.   I ordered a couple for the pre-order, as their website states a pretty reasonable refund policy.  In any case, the more I thought about the concerns (which I shared):

Low Satoshi value
No public key to verify
History of compromised coins

I decided to cancel.  I did receive an email indicated they would refund my Paypal on Monday, promising it would be done that day...  Well it did not.  I have an open dispute with Paypal and will let the resolve itself.  I just had to share I am not impressed with their customer service.   I was planning on reducing my order to just one coin, just for the heck of it; however, now I really don't want to even move forward with that.

Thanks,

Mark

This coin is a Siren song for sure. Beautiful but fraught with problems.

Regarding mintage, I am always surprised that someone would get into creating collectibles but not have a limited mintage. In my opinion this is a line that defines the categorical difference of a collectible and a mass produced novelty item (chotsky).

on the question of whether the coin is loaded with 1000 sats (or rather whether it is supposed to be loaded with 1000 sats)

direct from their website ucs-coins.com

Quote
THE VALUE OF THE BITCOIN IS
ATTACHED TO THE COIN BY AFFIXING
A STICKER WITH THE PRIVAT KEYS PRINTED ON IT AND PROTECTED
BY A HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGE.

A hologram is created with maximum protection against counterfeiting.

Therefore, we urge not to erase the hologram to preserve the original appearance of the coin. The face value of 1000 Satoshi (0.00001 BTC) is insufficient to cover the cost of the transaction.

If you still plan to transfer the denomination to your wallet, follow the instructions.

This begs the question why wouldn't they just include the hologram so it could become a DIY.  This way makes zero sense.  I love how so many coin makers don't get advice from those who know best.

I would not give one satoshi to this coinmaker...... if this is the same coin maker that made those Binary Bulls ones that were sweeped.

OK, I guess you talked me out of it.  I don't think the satoshis held on these coins would be worth anything anyway, so it's more just for looks due to the transaction fees that would be involved in claiming it.  However, it is a cool looking coin, but there are lots of cool looking coins out there with holograms (and cheaper) that aren't from shady coinmakers.  So I struggle to see why this one is special.  So I'm not going to be purchasing, but I'm sure those that do will be happy as it does appear a high quality product.  Just don't fool yourself into thinking you're buying something that holds BTC, because you will never get BTC out of these coins and if you do it will not be enough to be worth your time to claim it.  This is literally the reason why Minted Seats have a payout threshold and that was put in place nearly a decade ago.  Crazy there is still bigtime coin makers who don't know what they're doing.

Yeah that’s the thing, I was thinking of purchasing it but I agree with Mopar that it’s overpriced, and as Krogo said..this company did an unbelievably poor job of getting back to us on the issue with the swept bull. That was a serious issue and they just tried wiping it away quickly. It also seems that they peeled a lot of both eagles and bulls which really makes you wonder what was going on. Perhaps they themselves believe those coins to be compromised so they swept to avoid loss?  I agree w you and Krogo, I can’t support this bs.

On the coin, there is a hologram and the QR code under it with a 1000 Satoshi nomination.

I think this is what makes it sound as if it should be funded.

though 45 cents worth of Bitcoin is not a lot - if it is not included with the coin - it just makes it seem that the coin is even more overpriced at least imo.

also - did the price change? I thought it was over 100 euros when I first saw it and now it just under 90 euros.

Physical Bitcoin is the only way to stack
If I understand it right the coin isn’t funded and if you want to fund the coin you need to destroy the hologram:( On the box is the we code from website, there was good place of public key, I ordered one but I am not excited about it ;( I hope 🤞 I am making coin soon myself in collaboration with cryptoimperator

This is correct, this coin is not funded. Which they even state on the website that the labeled or minted on Satoshis amount would be about the same cost as funding the coin itself, which begs the question why did they label it as such. https://ucs-coins.com/#instruction1
Damn I swore it said funded with a satoshi somewhere. Either I’m tripping or there is some false advertising somewhere in there. Either way I’m still getting a few as I suspect the value will go up either way

Is this actually funded? Believe these are the same guys who made the Sol Noctis coins correct ? (If so, I would not trust the safety of the btc).  I have to say though they are really nice looking coins.
Is it just me or is 1000 satoshis 44 cents today.didnt read in detail

On the plus side, if the safety of the BTC is a concern, at least there isn't enough BTC on there to really matter much.  Chances are the Bitcoin network transaction fee to send the BTC anywhere would be higher than the actual BTC amount, so it's really just holding BTC to be cool, which it does accomplish.  I agree they do look like really nice coins and will make a great looking addition to a physical crypto collection.  I may end up grabbing one myself to go along with my Sol Noctis coin.  We'll see...

I understand it to be funded but only with 1000 sats... which you will spend most if not all just to use it. CI coins are beautiful! look forward to seeing what you two come up with. His coins are on my wish list - I just can never afford the heavy premium that comes with them. Sad but one day I will!
