what can be said about the efficiency of the old/new bitmain PSUs?

Would it be better to get a PC PSU with a high efficiency platinum rating?

Might only be 5% difference but that might add up over say 1-4 years

175.2 is saved over 4 years at 1kw and price of 0.1 kw/h

won't fit in the case. that is built for this mod.  Also the apw3++ is around 90% efficient.

I just about have the build done.

I ended up using an epic controller.  the epic can go really low  board can do 23th instead of 30th

decent stats and fairly quiet.

I can down clock more and I can get it quieter
I have noctua fans set to 2500 rpm

I talked with Altair tech.  I may make 10 or 12 units.

a s19
a s19 pro 110

a s19 xp

that comes to 9 units.

I will need the Loki duo and I will use braiins

I have a guy that can print cases.

I have many apw3++ psu's

If you look below you can see  an xp is says 791 watts, but it is more like 740 watts.

other than the Loki kits and some new extra controllers

I have 60-70 s19 boards

If you do the lessor psu mod. the psu's do 12.5-12.7 volts

this lets you go to 800 watts easy.

I have 2 loki duo kits on order.

once they arrive I will build an xp in the chimney

and have my buddy print a case for the 100th pro.

I think build this and liquidation go my btc asic miners will be my 2024 move.

CLEAN non GPL infringing code made in Rust lang
I know someone who did this very thing but ended swapping the small fans with a duct fan, 4" or 6" AC Infinity.
With the njord to control the fan and loki to use a modded S9 psu...

that should definitely be achievable! I purchased a BitChimney from Altair Tech (along with 3 other 3D Printed Shells - my ender 3 pro just died, but I want to make more of them before deciding between Creality and Bambu lol).

The BitChimney, utilizing a single S19K Pro board, an APW3+, a Loki Kit from PivotolPlebTech, and a Xilinx controller with BRAIINS (or a UMC w/ Powerplay), pulls similar figures.

The screenshot linked is running on US residential power (116V measured at the wall with a Spartan meter *purchased from Amazon for about $25 - not the most accurate tool but close enough*)

edit: not sure why the image isn't showing but here is the imgur link. https://imgur.com/a/jzDXUv6

Love to see more people exploring the possibilities of what can be done with low power expenditure - getting residential mining enthusiasts back online with far more impactful hashrate. Looking forward to seeing how you make out!

'The right to privacy matters'
I decided to go with a s19 xp not an s19 110 pro.

It is hot in the garage so watts go up a lot.
811watts  is not my real power use my meter reads 750. I know the meter is good.

here is the xp with a braiins controller and 1 xp hashboard attached

here is the power meter once I opened the garage door watts dropped from 750 to 698

so the gui reads 811 watts and the meter reads 750 hot garage door closed
the gui reads 760 watts and the meter reads 698 garage door opened .

this unit Is running at the mine it uses 240 volts. and about 3200 watts at full speed.
it has standard fans and is Loud loud loud!

the mod will allow for 120 to 240 volts

it will use brains and must stay under 12.5 volts.

You can see it does 11.75 volts when set to 96 th or 32th for a board

this setup when built will not use the stock psu.
it will only use 1 board.

and depending on settings the board can do 20th to 30th at well under 30 watts a th.

it is still tuning so the numbers should get better.

So I was thinking if I could mod a mod that is offered on line.

I would run braiins+
I would tune the board to 30th and about 875 watts

I would use 4 noctua 3600 rpm ppm 120mm fans.

I Should have some posts on this soon. and of course some photos.
