So with the grand total of 0 merits received you are classing yourself as the merit oracle are you? Why comment when you have 0? If I were you I would personally look through the most merited threads, posts and users and actually try to find out what will earn merits. Or you could continue down your path of negativity trying to point holes in a system that is working, either or its up to you fella..

Hi fxstrike,
I agree that we don't need too complicated system for g'the forum, generally. Merit system has disadvantages, demerit system (if implemented), trust system too. All types of system will be abused somehow because it is human instinct; lazy, greedy people always try to find a new way to nauseous, to cheat new system.
However, overtime efficient system will work and control them, as merit system has performed.
I just wonder what happen if one user can not earn any merit over years.
For this issue, we have to consider whether the account active during those years or in active.
If inactive, nothing to discuss.
If active, we should have solutions. Because probably such unable-to-get-merit-over-years might be come from spammers who post hundreds of thousands of threads without only one merit, regardless of it is Hero or Ledgendary.
Hope that you know what I mean here.

Merit system should eliminate that all, if it fails nothing will do, adding more and more system is not wise things to do. not everyone meriting now is complying to the rules, there is so many cases of abuses, demerit will also be the same, people will demerit others they don't like for no reason.

If it implemented probably your post will be demerited to death first and then you become the first to open a topic at first opportunity to ask for it to be removed, and please remember the more you change the software, the more likely you introduce bugs, security holes, complexity to the system can lead to exposed vulnerability or maybe heavy load that takes up server resources.

The forum should have demerit button to minusing merits of merit-complainers, shit-posters, merit-beggars. I would like to use the button if Theymos make it. Something like Ignore but might have much more impacts. Additionally, demerit button will lead to another massive complaining wave in the forum from unconstructive users.

yes I also experience such feelings since the merit system was held, I feel disappointed because my rank is incarcerated. I really did not get anything I could do except give up.
now I can change the state of my disappointment by always learning the best. though not at all get merit from each of my posts

The title of this topic is quite misleading, maybe that is what you must learn too, creating a title that supports your topic, so others would not bother to look inside as your topic was already known by many, try to create more informative topics and not this kind of expressing amusement on things that are already here, just a tip dude. Yes everytime we do there will be rewards and for those who contribute then they deserve something more than others. Honestly that merit does now make people motivated to be able to contribute to the forum and try to provide useful postings. Ouch! Another whining post on the merit system. This is becoming so bland here that everywhere now in the forums oozes Merit. Merit this merit that. Aren't we bored already with this now redundant exposition?

I believe this so much whining will also surface were this forum to suspend or ban all signature campaigns. Perhaps, Theymos and co should experiment with this as Google, Facebook and Twitter are doing currently with the ban on ICOs.

This is the rules that have prepared from theymos, how far and how much someone complain this rules of course theymos won't change it.

After you unaccepted, finally you can be more wise to accept it. What if some people like you and stop complain it would be better. And start to build from concern.

I guess OP was hoping to get some merit with the first reply. Him and the first commenter seem to have gone to the same school. They both make flattering comments about how cool the new system is even though they haven’t earned any merit and write poor English.

I think it is because this section has a reputation for most of the merits being given here.

If that's the case I dont think that they can even get a single one here with just posts like that. The big ones are not that fool enough just to give Merits to the low quality and senseless posts like that.

I, too was curious about it and thought that there is another one who's proposing another rules for the newbies to earn Merits in a nice and possible way. I thought that i can even update my own post on the local for this shit but it's not what I've been expecting .
