In fact, sanctions are worse only for ordinary people who live in the country. Those who are in power will not feel any changes, but ordinary people do! From these political games it only gets worse ...

Right now these sanctions are affecting the common people of both sides. The Russians are forced to buy food items at inflated prices, and they have seen their welfare payments slashed (although the situation is getting better now). The EU farmers on the other hand are in the brink of bankruptcy, after they lost one of their major export markets.

This week the U.S. Senate is expected to vote for sanctions against Russia because of the Kremlin's interference in the presidential elections of 2016. I wonder why no one cites specific evidence, but sanctions are imposed.

What would you think if Russia (and all the other countries in which elections the USA have interfered) had everytime applied sanctions against the USA?

Restrictions on financing of Russian banks and oil and gas companies on the basis of the new US law on sanctions will come into force on November 28. This is reported on the website of the US Treasury.

The law passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump, reduces the maximum term for financing Russian banks under sanctions to 14 days, and oil and gas companies - up to 60 days.

Don't expect relationship between the two countries to warm up anytime soon. They just have so many conflicting interests, especially with their foreign policies.

Yeah, people thought just because a new administration was trying to warm up relations with Russia it doesn't really mean in the least that they're going to be able to get those relations back on track without an issue. It's going to take a lot of time, with all the current news with Russia-Trump and other things these countries really are going to have a tough time getting back to PRE-COLDWAR relations

I didn't see anything about new sanctions at all, but I wouldn't doubt something like this coming out of the Senate.

RIP relations with Russia.

How are they better? Probably you are using information from the Kremlin. Putin never liked independent journalism. I still remember how he destroyed the team of NTV. Someone doubt their training? But Russian is not protected, then freedom of speech and are now a part of this propaganda.

I didn't said that the Russian channels such as Russia Today (RT) are any better. I was just saying that nowadays it has become increasingly difficult to get unbiased news from any of the mainstream channels.

Yeah mainly because these mainstream channels are manipulated by big companies that would benefit from whatever news they're coming up with. It's hard to trust mainstream media nowadays becauae of this. And putin i think has no time for such biased journalism.

Sanctions against Russia is a little effective method. Each of us knows how to circumvent the protection if the website is unavailable to access from our country. Similarly, Russian bypass sanctions through other countries.

There is nothing new anymore about the issue of russia and US even if trump stated that he would like putin to be his bestfriend(which is obviously a sarcastic statement)

I think he should state Putin is his best friend. Would make for some great entertainment and I could bust out the popcorn!!!

But yes, if there is evidence let us see it. If there isn't any evidence we need to also know. I am tired of these games they all play.

The media is well organized FUD machine. see one of my past posts I made years ago talking about how they all collude together to write the same stories.

This is back when they slammed bitcoin all the time. >> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/1000-member-secret-progressive-journalist-group-uncovered-fud-spreaders-of-btc-728166

I would not believe anything western media says about this. Try al jazeera on Russia

Why should you believe the Al Jazeera? After all it is owned by the Qatari government, which is a part of the GCC alliance. Neither the Arabs, nor the Americans are very fond of Russia. For both the parties, Russia is a common enemy.

Al Jazeera is better, because the Western mainstream news channels (BBC News, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC.etc) are always biased and churn out fake news against Russia. The others such as Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya are far better.

They just need someone to blame for their endgame being a failure and delaying whatever the master plan was for a bit, or just altering the logistics the US plays a far more broad role in election interference than other countries do.

I do not agree with you. what businessman Trump I don't know. Did anyone see his Declaration? Who knows, maybe he bankrupt? Putin is also not a businessman. It is a banal thief. His condition is not earned, but stolen from the Russian state.

It is the opinion of the Russian people, which matter the most. For them, Putin is a savior. He took office in 1999, when most of the national wealth was looted by the oligarchs under the drunkard pro-western dictator Boris Yeltsin. He put some of those oligarchs behind bars, while most of the others fled to Western nations such as the United Kingdom.

That is it, pretty much as always Americans are the center of the world and hundreds of millions of non Americans are worthless, when the

Fucking senator says we should be happy when ISIS is attacking Tehran you all should take the hint what kind of people they are, idiots don't

Understand more sanctions=thicker skins. in a decade from now when the world moved into decentralization of currencies we'll see if US could

Still have the upper hand in financial sector, we'll see if they could have any power in the world of economy.

That's really stupid. Sanctions have already strengthened Russia, and as Russia has been buying gold, the gold backed ruble is likely to become significant. They have also pushed Russia into bed with Chins, and as a result the IMF has lost its monopoly. Why do they want to strengthen Russia and weaken the US, and allover Obama and Clinton's lies.

When they announced the sanctions in 2014, the United States and its allies thought that Russia would fold up in less than 6 months. But they forgot that Boris Yeltsin is no longer ruling Russia. The current Russian president is Vladimir Putin, who has been elected as the most powerful person on the earth for three consecutive terms now. The sanctions have only resulted in strengthening the Russo-Chinese alliance.
Don't forget he's also one of the richest people on Earth.
Russians always had that need for expansion and pride. Putin is using that to his advantage and is doing very well for himself, as we all can see. He's a businessman like Trump and I thought those two will find find a way to talk using the universal language of money, but no, not yet at least.

You still need to understand that rich people make conclusions for themselves and always agree. And the problems will be for ordinary citizens and not for presidents. Any military conflicts, even commas, were laid by the military, from among ordinary people, and not from officials.
