Do reseach and asking first that is what you do right now you can also try to trade in yobit because there is many altcoin release there every week..
But its hard to know what altcoin is the best. you can try to choose top 20 altcoin in coinmarket cap those altcoin are live long and you can make a profit more safe than investing in new altcoin..

there are many market exchange that you can select like poloniex, yobit, bittrex, btc-e, kraken and else. if you have small budget i suggest you go to yobit, there are many altcoins with the rate is just 1 satoshi, under 10 satoshi.

and if your budget is in middle and big, you can try to poloniex, bittrex, btc-e. and if you just want to play fiat-btc, there is many market exchange you can select too.

first, you select what market exchange you want, then you can register on it, after that, you can make your own research about the coins. after you've done, you can try to trade but first, you can try for small amount to learn the movement then maybe you can increase the scale into middle and let see what is happen.

i wish you have good trade and have a good profit on trade.

My first go at trading, nearly a year ago, had me mixed up with the buy and sell buttons (super noob)
As long as you get that bit right, the rest is just research and watching patterns

The problem with altcoin trading is that you can get stuck in a coin that has no volume, so my recommendation is that you always pick a top 10 coin in terms of volume to trade, unless you want to long and trust the project.

Hello Cheesy I want to get into alt coin trading, and i want to know where to start, and how to do it. Thanks!

sign up on an exchange service that you like (i suggest either bitrrex or c-cex) and then deposit a small amount of bitcoin there.

you can even start with 0.001BTC which is $0.6 and try trading and making profit on that and when you learned how to do it invest more (1-10000BTC) Cheesy

Searching about the correct place for starting the trading and trying for always monitoring the chart for every time is can make you're not losing your moment in the chart of exchange.

1. Research
2. Buy and hold, timing in daytrading is silly.

Good luck!

You should know the basics of trading first. Of course the rule is that you should buy low and sell high to profit but how you should do it, you should study first and if possible have a mentor that already has vast experience in altcoin trading. In order for you to grasp how trading works then you should try it first using a demo account or if you want to go live then you can start small capital. When you think you are already ready having all the knowledge and strategy and consistenly having a profit then you can deposit bigger amount. We are all aware that trading has risks but if you know what you are doing then you can minimize it.

You should first do some research on the coins in market and then the trading market. Learn to make proper deals and learn the methods of trading properly. You may make mistakes and be sure to learn from them. Buy altcoins when the price is low and sell them when price is high. Make sure to have a proper amount of capital and backup stocked up as well. Good Luck

Hello Cheesy I want to get into alt coin trading, and i want to know where to start, and how to do it. Thanks!

Read Pablo's book.  It's around the altcoin section.  Just use the search function and you'll find it.  The book is a good guide for a practical approach kind of trading altcoins.  No TA or FA as those are mostly based on theory.  What Pablo is teaching is based on experience and I could relate to most that was written on that book because I experienced and know them as well.  I think most people could relate to what's written in that book sooner or later if you're into altcoins.

Bittrex is a good place to start, but as  a beginner i like to use yobit because they have a lot of alt coin which can be traded, so in order to start trading i suggest start from small amount and trade alt coin, find the news and potential about the alt coin that you like and then trade it and wait until the price is high, if after a few weeks no significant changes just sell it and look for another coin

i'm using poloniex and bittrex for trading, and exchange my bitcoin for cash in VIP (Indonesia exchange)
first create account in exchange after that transfer your bitcoin to exchange to start trading
second buy altcoin if you know the price will up and sell when the price up
but is not easy to predict how much profit we can get from trading you should pick good altcoin to avoid altcoin scam (do some research)

Hello Cheesy I want to get into alt coin trading, and i want to know where to start, and how to do it. Thanks!
Did you just buy this account?  If not, you've been on this forum a while and should know how to use the search function...right?  There are about 1X10^pi topics that exist talking about this very same topic, and they become sig spammer bait (not me, I'm trying to help).  I think there's another thread that just got started where you can find the answer you need.  I just posted in it about Poloniex and Yobit.

Ok, you're right i have been on this account for awhile but i never looked into trading. I don't mean to be a sig spammer. Thank you for the help Cheesy
