as long as the New users don't cheat, they don't make a mistake IMO.

Who cares? It's better than looking at spam/shit-post. People who make farming account or evade ban usually can't or don't bother make "smart" post.

Sorry, I just realized now I should've quoted "smart posts". My bad

Here are few better example (i know it's biased example) :
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/breaking-mixing-services-5117328
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anonymous-atomic-swaps-using-homomorphic-hashing-4980960
these two profiles that you Mention is really very smart, most likely both of them are IT people who are passionate about Blockchain technology and are trying to develop their abilities by entering into this forums

A couple of scenarios

  • A banned user wanting to quietly make a comeback.
  • A farmed account made to order.
  • A user with a shaky reputation wanting to have a fallback position if the main account gets too hot to participate in SigCamps.
  • Someone wanting to game the system by starting threads from a seemingly reputable account then either spamming or flaming from their preferred account.

Look to some of the UID's that were nominated in the "Newbie of the Year - 2019" who rose to prominence by seemingly not putting a foot out of place.

Strange, it should be removed if the user receives one.
I've had quite a few reports marked as "Good" and the post in question not deleted, even though I thought it should have been. Sometimes, as Loyce has said, the user receives a warning or temp ban instead, but we can never know that unless the user or a mod confirms it. Sometimes, if it's a whole thread, the thread is moved or locked rather than deleted. Sometimes the post has been spammy, but the follow up comments to it have been good/useful/constructive, so although the report is marked good the post isn't deleted so the remaining useful posts still make sense in context. I've also had a mod tell me that they thought it was a borderline case, so marked the report good but didn't delete the post.

I reported one of his topics, the report is marked "Good", but the topic is still there. Maybe he got a warning or a temporary ban, but I can't see that.

Strange, it should be removed if the user receives one.

Maybe a mod could clarify this.

Let them get benefits of your suspension, learn to welcome newbies on the forum. The only problem is if someone create account from ban/red tag (obvious scammers) users. Multi account isn't against forum rules, so even old users are trying to build another account then nothing wrong. But yes, if you have found them abuse forum then report it with proper evidence if really you like to help this forum.

I have been feeling good when I can help newbies to rank up if they are contributing for forum really. We should encourage newbies instead of prevent them from their contributions.

That falls under the gray area, right? I saw people complaining about these kind of posts, but the mods can't/ won't do anything because the plugs include personal opinions.

Ehh, while there's definitely a chance, not necessarily. Who knows? It might just be someone who's decently knowledgeable about Bitcoin and he/she just recently decided to join a Bitcoin community. New accounts that makes their first post concerning merits and or creating constructive posts though, I'm almost automatically skeptical.

That's not a good post, it's just a generic post stating the obvious, followed by spamming his own Youtube link. Judging by the rest of his post history, he's a shitposter spamming links.

This user is only newbie in rank, but he is registered over a year ago. Also, if you look at his post history, since reactivating, he's mostly trying to promote his YouTube channel.
Yeah, and he doesn't exactly remind me of anyone else in particular--though there have certainly been newbie accounts that have.  The most recent and obvious examples of that would be TOAA/cryptohunter and the various other alts he's employed.

I get what OP is saying and I think sometimes it's true, sometimes not, but usually it's really hard to tell unless there are glaringly similar styles of writing between accounts.  Since a lot of members here write in mediocre-to-poor English, I have a hard time connecting accounts based on that.

And it usually doesn't matter anyway.  If I see a good post, I'll merit it.  In fact, if it's from a newbie account there's probably a greater chance that I will, as I like helping newbies rank up.

In a particular case, it is completely irrelevant whether it is a unique account, an alt of an old member or something else as long as he respects the rules of the forum. Some might say that it's not appropriate to advertise in posts like he is doing, but this is for another discussion.

Just because a user is a newbie on the forum doesn't automatically mean they are new when it comes to bitcoin, blockchain, programming, economics, or any of the other things which are discussed here. It also doesn't mean they are new to online communities or forums. Sure, the majority of new users start off with low quality posts, spam, copy and pasting articles, or immediately asking how to earn merit/coins/tokens, but that doesn't necessarily mean that all newbie accounts are spammers.

Owning multiple accounts is not against the rules, and so even if some of these good newbies are more senior members writing from a new account, then I don't see the issue as long as they aren't evading a ban. If they are evading a ban it is usually discovered at some point, and if they are farming an account to sell, it is almost always discovered when the post quality, writing style, grammar, even the language suddenly and drastically changes.

I'd rather have an alt account of an old user making some good posts than a brand new user spamming meaningless trash.

As I stated, just my 2 cents, it's just a feeling when I read posts, not saying it is a problem or that I have something against those users.

Did you ever had the feeling - this is definitely an old user trying to make farming accounts or his old account was banned.
Sometimes. But as long as it's not plagiarism, I can Merit them. Let's not start being paranoid for new users who actually make good posts! That's what this forum needs, it's not something we should try to get rid of.

You can't really use such conclusion for all newbie accounts here.

1. Having a newbie bitcointalk account does not mean that someone has to be dumb.
2. Some people first read and learn before they start posting

Where is the problem exactly. If anyone is having fun creating contents from unknow accounts then let them. As long as it helps the readers and have value for the community, we should be fine.

Besides, having alt is perfectly ok in this forum.

You can see that his posts struggle to get attention Smiley) Just my 2 cents about newbie users posting ultra-smart things that are not in their league, kinda, 'ish.
