My pool is almost ready. It's working on the testnet. I've just got a few loose ends to tidy up. I'll have it ready tomorrow no doubt.

I'm on it!  Cool

sound like a good cause

that could be a good coin if transparency is involve... Smiley

Definitely. Proof that donations are being made would be required, otherwise great way to market a coin at the expense of those who are suffering.

We agree with you.  We are working on a system so that everything is transparent.  For now, the charity wallet can be monitored by visiting our Block Explorer.  We have plans to access it next week to remove coins to pay for the bounties and first giveaway. This giveaway is to get people started with their wallets.  Nothing too elaborate.

All of this will be registered on a spreadsheet and made available to the public as soon as possible.  We also would like to start fundraising sooner rather than later so that we will donate wallets with small amounts to a few Cancer Organizations and post their CCC address here. This is something apart of our main goal of donating the larger wallets chosen through votes.
The support has been awesome so please keep the ideas coming.

Good work!

p2pool(beta) up and running

you should consider it as beta. so please make sure to setup a failover pool.
getting it up and running with ccc involved quite a few changes in sourcecode, and some minor issues still need to be ironed out.
so the pool may periodically go offline for a few minutes while i commit possible changes.

here are some sample login details:
Code:
url: stratum+tcp://46.16.76.159:9342
user: yourpayoutaddress
pass: any

just make sure, to set the username to the CCC address your earmings should go to, or you will be mining into my wallet Smiley
you can choose any password you like.

payouts will immediately show up as mined balance in your wallet if the pool finds a block and you got a valid share

pool stats will be available at http://46.16.76.159:9342/static

general info on how p2pools work (please make sure you read about the payout logic): https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool

I ran into massive problems with Linux Mint yesterday and ended up installing Debian instead. That delayed me a bit. I'll be working on the stratum MPOS pool some more today. Maybe by tomorrow I'll have it available for testing.

Well done to Bored723 for the p2pool.

I think it should be a focused effort for cancer. The whole thing was built on this issue. The logo clearly states cancer with the lavender ribbon. I would think this coin would go into oblivion if the name is changed. You can't advertise a cancer entity without the word Cancer on it.

Just my 2 cents

In my opinion this coin should not be changed to some random charity coin. Cancer is one of the big problems of our times so i am totally ok with this coin focusing on this problem.
I just think we should reorder the words in the coin's name.
CureCancerCoin would be much better in my opinion. That sounds much better, as it actually starts with a positive word, instead hammering the word cancer into peoples faces.

Now to the pool problem.

I am currently working an a p2pool implementation for CCC (works fine on testnet already). It should be up and running within a few hours. I am looking for a few people to test it before making the pool public.
So if anybody is interested, please write a pm and tell me the estimated hashpower you are going to throw at the pool. If the testrun goes well, i will make the node public.

Which bring us to another question. The name is due to change and a new Acronym will be needed. CCC will probably not fit the bill anymore and it was also brought to our attention that Chococoin claimed it before us.
We tried to find if there is any other Coin using the Acronym CURE which would pretty much describe our goals. Any one here knows if it has been claimed?

c-cex.com is now adding new coins to their exchange. If the devs can finish the linux wallet this coin might get listed there.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/c-cexcom-trusted-secure-friendly-exchange-since-2013-200-altsusdlow-fees-418700

It would be great to have CancerCureCoin listed on their exchange. We willl try and establish contact with them.
We just recently posted the Linux wallet
Cheers
