I believe you came to the wrong thread. Perhaps you meant to post in the H20 thread? Its getting kind of confusing as other coins are starting to name themselves CharityCoin as well Roll Eyes.
Anyway, if you were meant to be mining CHA try either Hashaxe, Poolerino, Westlist, Forkpool or Charity mining. Links are in the first page.

Just wondering if you completed the recompile.  I have done it as well if not.

Thanks for the recompiled wallet. Bored also have recompiled it but I was not able to get it uploaded to the website due to technical difficulties with the website. I will post your link in the main thread for now until we can get the website updated.

SECURITY UPDATE

The OSX and Linux wallets have been linked with the 1.0.0 versions of OpenSSL all this time. This is not a problem and means the Linux and OSX wallets are not vulnerable to the security vulnerability. If you have been using the Linux or Mac wallets, then there is no need to upgrade, and no new wallets will be uploaded.

As for the Windows wallet, I do not maintain that so I do not know. Please wait for more news.

HashAxe is operating but I can not guarantee that the SSL security has not been compromised. I'm looking into replacing the certificates and will do so when I learn the proper way, as I've never needed to revoke a certificate before. I have already updated OpenSSL on the server.

Thanks.

The windows wallet uses OpenSSL 1.0.1e (vulnerable).
I will do a recompile with 1.0.1g within the next few hours. cancercoin4cure will let you know when the updated wallet is ready for download.

Just wondering if you completed the recompile.  I have done it as well if not.

Hello and Congratulations! ChariryCoin  was added to COMKORT exchange.

3 MARKETS for CHA

I cannot find these markets on your exchange.
THese links all fail back to BTC_LTC trading, and the coin still shows in voting, so you might want to check into that.

Thanks!
I sent them a message asking to look into it.

IMPORTANT SECURITY ANNOUNCEMENT

Charitycoin is affected by the recent OpenSSL vulnerability: CVE-2014-0160

If you have used TLS (SSL) RPC connections, an attacker may have gained access to your wallet. If you have not used TLS connections, your wallet is safe. If affected you should create a new wallet and transfer funds to this new wallet, and you should not use TLS connections until an update is made available to the wallet.

It should be obvious if you have ever used TLS RPC connections and most people will not be affected. If unsure, you are almost certainly safe.

HashAxe will be down for security maintenance today as this vulnerability also effects nearly all web servers. I will keep people informed.

Notice that during this time, it is possible (though unlikely) that the SSL certificate on hashaxe has been compromised.

Everything is really good with this coin. But the marketing side is lacking. There is no need for aggressive marketing. Maybe just a shift in "positioning" can fix a lot of things...

And the overall communication tone - it needs more passion Smiley

I think you can borrow some useful ideas from established worldwide charities.

And if a smart marketing specialist could join a team... that would be great.

Or it can be like this: "The first coin that is not based on a hype" Smiley))) Just joking.

But the new "Supporting charities one coin at a time" is a bad choice. It sounds generic and banal. It doesn't communicate anything.

The slogan should communicate the essence of the coin.

And the essence (the scheme) here is: 1. You mine, you buy/sell = You make money & 2. by doing these activities you help people that are in need.

This scheme should become a one presentable sentence.

A possible solution: "The richer you become, the more you help others."

This slogan communicates 1. that with CharityCoin you can become rich (this needs to be emphasized, otherwise people won't come), 2. when you get richer, others become richer too.

I think you get the idea. There is a need to play with words. I'm not a native English speaker.

I think it is possible to find a better slogan.

For example: Get rich while helping others.

Or something similar...

is this the first coin for charity ? i saw many charitable coins these days!

This is the second coin that I came across to be centered around charity.  It is the first to implement block rewards to charity.  But yeah.. I think it's funny how every new coin claims to be the first nonprofit coin in some cheap PR scheme.

We agree with you. We just changed our slogan not to offend anyone else as this is not our intent.

And just to be clear I wasn't trying to imply that you were offensive.  Just that I see others doing it.  I think you guys are doing a good job building a stable base for the coin that isn't built on hype.  Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Thanks Voxelot

We notice there's been a few more coins with charity reasons. They are all very welcome but I see the problem with people making claims about being the first one. At first we chose that slogan because we really thought we were the first coin with charity as a main goal, but then we learnt about Social coin and we discussed about dropping the claim. So it was going to happen anyway as we do not want to make false claims. Cryptocurrency is on a very fast pace right now so it could be that these new devs don't know about SocialCoin or CharityCoin. We really hope they succeed in reaching their honorable goals of helping people in need.
Thanks for offering your help! Feel free to send us a pm when you have some free time. We need as much support as possible!
