Do you guy's realize how old this post is?  Is anyone reading first page even?

Or even part of second.  I'm surprised how many are talking about such a old/dead thread.

The person who posted today should take it to scam thread and create a site there if they are scamming.  That site and BTC-e are not tied together.

I WAS also HACKED  on BTC-E scam site !!!  There SUPPORT TEAM IS TOTALLY WORTHLESS !!

If you encounter a problem on BTC-E do not bother emailing them !!!  YOU WILL GET NO SUPPORT OR HELP !!

BE SMART TRADERS  ***  Withdrawal all your funds/coins from BTC-E trading site now !!  or you will lose everything in your account !!!

I have been saying this many times. Don't write to BTC-E in English. They will reply after a few weeks time. Better machine translate your mail to Russian (keep the mail short and simple), and then email them. I normally receive replies within 30-60 minutes, when I email them in Russian, but it takes many days when I use English.

Do you have 2FA enabled?
Have you used the same password on other sites?

,surely btc e should have some way of blocking access to an account from an unknown ip address ?  maybe someone else could enlighten me on this one ?

Well then the tinfoil hat brigade who do everything through anon proxies complain. My IP isn't especially stable on my ISP, and they have multiple ranges even.

Another thing to watch out for is fake apps, a bitcoinwisdom fake app is doing the rounds at the moment, that are trojans that will try to steal all your logins and wallets.
is this bundled in with something else ?

It's possible, but it has mainly been seen as a standalone.

at least they told you your account has been blocked. I've had the same case (Account hacked) the only thing i've got in reply to my ticket was the sentence "Withdrawal is confirmed by e-mail" along with the access log of the account. i've tried to get more info about the progress or about when they gonna lift the restriction. and i've managed to get the same response "Withdrawal is confirmed by e-mail". this time, without the access log.

Crazy weird dudes. over there.

well after bombarding them with a shed load of freshly submitted tickets i got a response,, "withdrawal confirmed by e-mail" with the access log which contained a btc address  amongst other things,,,i dont suppose theres much i can do now as obviously my system was accessed and email hacked then btc e account emptied,,i guess i will have to put this one down to a schoolboy error in not enabling 2FA on my account which would of given me that extra layer of security.......

@bryant.coleman: Yeah, I'm aware of that (made me imagin the support guy saying in heavy Russian accent "Withdrawal has been confirmed by e-mail"... Smiley) + the fact that every correspondance with them takes about 3 days (and you can imagine me waiting 3 days to get a single sentence in reply, and another 3 days for the second reply from them)

But it's ok, it's been only a week since the last reply, and I'm patient. at the moment. iv'e been a support guy myself a few years ago, I know how it is.

BTC-E is being run by Russians. Most of them know English, but are not quite comfortable with it. Also, recently there was a spike in their trade volumes and new registrations. I think they are unable to find quality manpower to run all this.

hello again,,,after the robbing bast....s stole my coins i quickly changed all my passwords etc etc and in the process forgot one or two of them,my new email being one of them which i now have sorted out,i also forgot my password on here which i needed access to my new gmail to reset, been a busy week for me as you can imagine
to answer a few questions,no i did not have 2fa set up on the account,i can see people shaking there heads in disbelief as i write this, anyway i now have it set up just a pity it took this episode to get me to sort it out.(lesson for EVERYONE enable 2FA from the start)
to date (7days) ive had no response whatsoever from btc e,just one automated msg saying account frozen for withdrawals, which is not much help as theres nothing to withdraw, its all been robbed and cleared out.
customer service is totally dire and non existant,im putting it down to the fact its christmas so im still holding out for some kind of resolution,i hold btc e responsible regardless of whether i had 2fa set up
i have online bank accounts and a stock trading account neither of which i need any additional security measures to stop from getting hacked to the ones i set up on registration,if any of those accounts are hacked they are personally responsible and will always reimburse if there site is hacked
btc e are making plenty of money from the site and should have stringent security measures in place to stop them being hacked, they obviously havent which is why they promote 2fa
i dont think i will use the site again due to the obvious lack of security on there behalf, and would warn anyone who is using btc e to at least set up 2fa as another means of stopping intruders
will keep this post up dated as and when i here from the so far non existent btc e customer services
hope everyone had a nice crimbo

@bry

Yeah, but...it's giving up the control of said valuable thing to someone else, when you can do it yourself.  You just have to learn the process in which the evil bastards have used to defraud us.  Basically, we give up our privacy for security, but they can't provide security. And we have our private info out there in the wind to boot.....
