another thing to keep in mind is the wattage these cards suck up the 290 uses over 300w the 280 uses about 230w and the 270x uses 150w

290/290x 700-900 kh/s @>300watts cards cost >499

280/280x 500-700 kh/s @>200 watts >399

270/270x 375-500 kh/s @ <150 watts <250 can be found for as little as 179 sometimes most are between 209-229

I think the 270x is a better value and more available at lower prices 2 of these cards uses 300 watts produces 750-1000kh/s and costs less than a single 290x next better value is a card from the previous gen provided you can pick it up for about 300

one question, can i use the same worker on 3 or more computers at the same time or do i have to have a worker for each computer?

you must make a worker for each connection, it's also an easiest way to monitor separate hashrates.

i would not but i have done it why not just make more workers that way you can remotely check your rig and if you name rigs after workers then problem workers are easier to find.

The 280x only gives about 770 KH/s should i have 4 on my PC or should i use 290 or 290x?
The 290 seams to havê more hash power than the 280x.
In your opinion what is a good setup for a first rig, currently am mining with hd6970 andbi get 506 hash power and wanted to upgrade the PC what board men HDD etc...

r280x gives about ~715 with its 2000 stream processors

r290x gives about ~ 950? with its 2500 stream processors

in my region r290x is edit:(almost TWICE) more expensive for 25% increase :/ not worth it

Make a spreadsheet, type in average mining speeds from those guides, and your local card prices.

Then simply determine which card will give more bang for the $.

Also what about the setup in question, how much W can you handle and etc.

Check that config here:

http://www.smos-linux.org/MSI.r9.270x2

This is supposed to give you optimal results for R9 270x MSI. If you are using different brand you may want to check the memory and the GPU MHz to optimize the configuration.

The best ones are high end amd if you can get one cheap an r9 290x or 7990 would do the highest kh/s. But a good beginner card would be a r9 270 it will do about 450 kh/s also scrypt mining still has cpu viability and intel seem to do better.

A i3 or i5 with more cores and threads the better. Don't expect super high kh/s from cpu but since you can't run a miner on just a powered video card and you need a full running pc to do it you might as well have 2 or 4 cores tossing a few extra kh/s on top the gpus.

The intel line can also use less electricity produce less heat.

I currently have R9 270 and i can only manage 375kh on it with Intensity = 17. Can you please advise what sort of config are you using?

I use the R9 280x Sapphire and these are working pretty good though. The price is also really not that higher compared to the 7950.

Got 6 of those and I really like the experience.  Only had the time to assemble one rig so far but still I will have the second one ready within a few days.

If you want to have a rig which will last a few months with decent hashrate considering the diff going up R9 280x is the best option. Get an OC release in order to have the option to undervolt.

7850 is best because of price if you low on money, or you can go for top r9 cards if you have enough money

I agree for the most part the r90 290x is the best card, but then also depends how many cards you plan to buy, the r90 290x is the best option if you buy 4 cards in one machine, other wise better going for more cheaper card option which can be better $ wise.

The intel line can also use less electricity produce less heat. Remember the goal is efficiency using less watts is a good thing the  Intel CPU can use less than 55 watts most amd chips use 125watts yet the most popular board to use is amd due to lower initial hardware costs. I'm thinking an amd apu based solution might be OK or a low end haswell or ivy bridge setup would be a good base amd apu would be 65watts Intel 20-55watts
