You always need to be alert in every market because there are scammers trying to fool you with attractive Schemes to trap you but only your awareness and knowledge will fail them. But you can say that you need to be more alert in this crypto market because scammers make effective use of internet and cryptos to fool people. You can find list of various scam projects by one of the forum member ScamVirus whose post can really help you to recognise false and scammy projects in this crypto market.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/scamvirus-list-of-scam-projects-145-exposed-scams-5236883

Else just be aware and try to recognise false projects by yourself and do proper research before taking part in any project or ICO.Don't be a victim as everytime people seek advice from others and we see people falling prey to the scammers and their new ways of hack.

It has been told so many things to the newbies and also all people here to watch out of the scammers. Because we all know that scammers are everywhere and we can never stop scammers.
We cannot also notice exactly 100% who are scammers or not.
However, sometimes, greedy and also too easy trust also can drive us to be scammed more easily.
Many people are trapped by scammers because they are willing to have and earn high profits easily, but this is a crypto world where you cannot get something very easy and highly. If there are some people or parties who are offering these, be careful, they may be scammers (although it always needs more and more research deeply to decide whether they're real scammers or not). However, at least, watch out

Today differentiating coins is either a scam or it won't feel difficult. Moreover, today a lot of BSC and ERC or other base tokens are made. Just look at some people taking advantage of it by making fake tokens with almost the same name.

The target is not only newcomers, old people can be deceived if they do not research in detail.

The stupid thing I ever did was to buy a token of the same name on yobit because of the cheap price. Until now, the token has no price.

Scams are like the most constant thing in this present cryptocurrency space both in the bearish and bullish market. The bullish market that we are in offers a rich hunting ground for scammers because a lot of newbies are getting involved in cryptocurrencies now more than ever before because of the opportunities that they believe exist and it is really easy for them to fall victim of scammers.
Their laziness and greediness are what scammers exploit and build up their projects to steal money from lazy and greedy newbies.

Bullish market results in more scam projects but there are new scam projects in bear market too. Fundamentally, it is easier to lose money when you are in a win streak and bull market gives you some win streaks.

More scam projects, see easy chances to get money, laziness, greediness that all combine with each other and cause more scam victims.

I totally concur to your topic, it's necesarry that we take caution from all the ideas we gathered here, not just newbies. The word as gone digital to an extend impossible things can happen digitally. There are many ways to cover up fake informations to make it look real. It's important that you have different sources and your source should  be  globally recognized. Ask questions. Do your own personal research. Most important take your time to understand every process before negotiating a trade.

You are wrong in addressing this to newbies only even old members got scam and are vulnerable to scams, there are newbies who are good at looking at projects and there are old members here who never learned their lessons, all precautions should be addressed to all investors, traders and bounty hunters regardless if they are newbies or old members, we are all one in this fight.

Newbies are believing crypto was an easy money maker, they don't even know the risk on it because technically, they don't even have an idea how it will work.  So, newbies, I suggest always have proper research first before putting all your money in investment or even that fund is you can afford to lose.  Because all valuable assets that belong to you are very hot on the eyes of scammers or prone to be scammed.
It has always been the idea of newbies. Since the emergence of cryptocurrencies, every time a newbie hears out about cryptocurrencies. They're thinking that upon putting $100 or $50, it will become $100,000 in an instant. Well, some stories really had happened and they've become lucky.

But that doesn't happen in all cases. And with those stories, that makes them buy altcoins that's promising them to earn a lot coming from a stranger which sometimes results as a scam.

All suggestions and comments are above are right, in short, we should have proper research before deciding to invest and knowledgeable enough will always take advantage against the scammers.  Because scammers are everywhere not only in crypto, even though in the fiat system there are people who easily fall into their trap and become one of their next victims.

The biggest mistake newbies make is that they are misinformed about cryptocurrencies. Many count on getting rich quickly, completely not understanding all the negative aspects. Fraudsters just count on the ignorance of newcomers and attract them with all sorts of distributions, in which they promise incredible percentages.
What can we do in these situations?  The forum has a large topic, where topics are regularly created on accusations of scams. It all depends on the beginners themselves. If they are in a hurry and invest their money in all sorts of enticements, someday they will come to the wisdom that it is necessary to think first to protect themselves from losses.
I always ask newbies: how rich are you to afford to lose money regularly?
This question is sobering to many, and people stop rushing to believe each one. Anyone who has a history of failures, in the end, understands that it is necessary to study thoroughly the projects that are selected for investment.

Scammers are everywhere, not only in the crypto world but also in real life world, there are many scam accusation happened with fiat currency and it is because scammers will find ways just to fool other people, mostly, beginners are the main target of the scammers because they know that beginners can easily believe on the things that they may say when in terms of money. Telegram is one of the common platforms for scammers so beware of using it, expect that there would be a lot of strange that will DM you, just ignore them especially if they are going to give you some link for investment which is their trick to scam people.

It is not just only the crypto space that is full of scammers. Scammers can be found everywhere. Some of the biggest scams in history are related to banks.

If you do not want to become a victim of a scam then follow these simple guidelines. First of all remember nothing is free. Second one is to avoid lucrative offers and the third one is to stop being greedy. Rest you know what to do.

Indeed many scam projects are existing nowadays, no use case and cant solve real problem. But some investors prefer the easy money route to earn, like the pump and dump shitcoins which is popular on social media particularly in facebook. Many newbies are attracted to these shitcoins because of the huge growth in span of weeks if you happen to be one of those who buy early, but its too risky.

Instead of investing in these kind of coins, it would be better to take time gaining knowledge on how crypto works. A real project has a working product that even the market turns bearish, the value still remain. Newbies should have deep understanding before engaging themselves to avoid getting scam and lose their hard earned money used as capital.
Youve said it all and some more, pump and dump coins are often seen as easy money by newbies and even some seasoned investors promote some of these coins. Investing in such cryptocurrencies isn't necessarily a bad thing, but investing without the knowledge of the type of cryptos that they are is where the risk lies. A good example are the new wave of meme coins we have seen over the past few weeks
Everyone both newbies and people with more experience should always do due diligence before parting with their money.

Successful projects often have strong fundamental attributes to back them up such that even in a bearish market where the growth in valuation of the cryptocurrencies may not be huge, work still continues on the projects development and the project community sees it.
Not always the case. If you see some meme coin now you can say that fundamental have been crushed and like become nothing due to the meme hype of dogecoin.

The newest on the league is shiba which literally list by most major exchange considering its fundamental? Nothing strong can backed it up. So it's not always the case. Newbies should watch out for some memecoin that they encounter not all are gems like this.
