Nice having you here mate, here's the catch, cryptotalk and the only forum you see, are all copycat of the bitcointalk community, none would be as successful as bitcointalk has become. I'm not wishing for their downfall but the way the forum is been run matters alot. At some point they all had to focus their advertisment on this forum to draw members to theirs. Bitcointalk was created with the intention of having a platform were like-minded individuals can communicate and probably pass on wisdom and guide to the new generation.
Thank you for the clarification mate, It seems like bitcointalk is the original one among all those forum, I am trusting you mate because as what I have seen on some profile, there are many other members who were registered in the year of 2016, I don't know yet when this forum started, crypto talk is still new, it was the started the year 2019 and that forum requires many things to adapt and to change before it became a good forum lime his as you said.

The forum in question has been advertised on this forum for some time together with the crypto exchange which, as far as I know, is also the owner of the same forum. Since they never paid attention to quality but to quantity, I'm not surprised that even beginners notice a difference in the quality of content in a very short time, and users who are not only here for profit, but have a sincere interest in Bitcoin.

Trinx01, investing time in knowledge is something that almost always pays off, and if you become active on this forum I am sure you will learn a lot Wink

They keep on saying that they prefer cryptotalk than bitcointalk because it seems so hard to rank up and earn money from this forum but some say that it is better than cryptotalk because it has more quality posts and you may learn more things about cryptocurrency.
Hello and welcome to the Bitcointalk forum!

This forum was created for discussions about bitcoin ecosystem and related topics. It is safe to assume you are here because you are interested in blockchain technology, decentralized networks, innovations that have a potential to change our world. You are eager to learn more about this brave new world. You have come to the right place, there are many experienced people here who can help newcommers understand the world of cryptocurrencies.

Here is your first lesson. Basically, in order for something to be valuable it needs to posses of certain characteristics. It needs to be scarce and it has to be hard to produce or achieve. It should require a lot of work to recieve, otherwise it has no value. Bitcoin is the perfect example of valuable asset, because it is programmed to be finitely scarce and requires a proof-of-work to be mined into existence. So is the ranks on this forum. They are more valuable than those on cryptotalk forum, because in order to achieve a high rank, you have to perform a lot of work, you have to invest your time and skills to receive something that is valuable. Just learn about cryptocurrencies, discuss them constructively, ask questions and try to help others. Good luck!

A few years back there was no merit system implemented here making it much easier for members to rank up based only on activity score, ICOs were also at its peak, meaning there were lots of project popping up on the forum with opportunities for hunters to earn through campaigns, this attracted lots of spammers to the forum reducing the quality of discussions, I would assume this is what is happening on cryptotalk, although at a higher scale as the forum specifically pays users to post inorder to increase traffic.

Bitcointalk has struck a sort of balance between maintaining quality and allowing users the freedom to profit off their efforts on the forum, unlike other forums that try to reward mindless spamming. The merit system does well to prevent spammers from ranking up or creating huge farms, and ranking up requires effort, meaning the user would have to develop themselves and contribute somewhat quality content.

Bitcointalk, of course, has its fair share of spammers, but the system makes it progressively more difficult for them to benefit from the forum, driving them to select boards or to other forums.

Hello everyone!

I came from the cryptotalk forum and then I suddenly read a topic talking about cryptotalk and bitcointalk, they just compared both forums and I became interested in this forum based on how they described it.

They keep on saying that they prefer cryptotalk than bitcointalk because it seems so hard to rank up and earn money from this forum but some say that it is better than cryptotalk because it has more quality posts and you may learn more things about cryptocurrency.

Upon checking some topics here in this section "beginners&help", I can say that this is much better than cryptotalk because it talks too much about cryptocurrency and it gives more knowledge about any related to cryptocurrency like, fake website, scamming, phishing, and tips on how can I avoid it which is really helpful for me because I never saw this kind of topic in cryptotalk ever. Most of the topics that are written in " beginners&help" in the cryptottalk talk about life advice which is somehow not related to the crypto world.

I am just so glad because I enter this forum, it seems like I will learn a lot of things here about cryptocurrency which is what I am looking for in a forum.

Things are getting worse because of the pandemic and I want to use my free time to learn many things about cryptocurrency, I am expecting that I will have good knowledge and experience with this forum.

As you've already noticed, the Cryptotalk community is primarily concerned with generating profit...
And this is exactly what you can see, in the quality of the most contributions there!

Here at the BitcoinTalk.org forum (The 1st Bitcoin forum ever and the museum of original posts by the legendary "Satoshi Nakamoto"), it's not about making money, that's just a little extra!
Our community wants to exchange knowledge, and push developments forward with new ideas.
That is also the reason why I am active here, and will certainly be for a long time to come...

In the shallows of the forum, you can still discover new (old) things after years.
This is always impressive...

I like your statement, if you seriously enter the forum with such an attitude, participate with heart and soul, and help others.
It's can only go uphill for you here in the Forum, I think...

I advise you, to read the guidelines in different boards carefully, and refrain from plagiarism. Wink

All the Best

I also used to post or work in cryptotalk but I notice that it's not established like bitcointalk forum yes newbies will say it's easier in cryptotalk it's because it is a newly made forum and starting to grow, unlike bitcointalk, after a very long time it developed into a fine forum and well-organized forum.

In fact, there's nothing to compare of cryptotalk has its own characteristic as bitcointalk has it's own also let's just support Both forum, anyways welcome to the bitcoin forum mate.

The monetary aspect was introduced recently as additional benefits since that's what's trending this days with social media platforms. Meanwhile the other forums were created with the sole intention of just making money which is why all they do revolve around money. They pay you to post inorder the keep the forum active but here you post because you want to engage in quality discussion.

There are OG's of the industry on the forum more than any other forum out there and most prominent names you see today in the industry at some point where members (and some still are) of the community. You're welcome once again, you won't regret choosing quality over money. Just adhere to the rules of the forum and you'll enjoy your stay here.

Earning a bit of money than learning good knowledge is not worth it so, I decided to join this forum because I know that I can learn better here than cryptotralk.
Of course, all you need to do on cryptotalk is just to post and you get paid, that's definitely bound to affect the levels of quality post on that forum, but on btt, even if you are ever going to get paid to post, you must have been posting quality posts for sometime on the forum, contributing to the forum, helping newbies, giving suggestions and other whatnots, all these will enable you rank up and eventually if you wish, earn on a signature campaign.

So, you have actually picked the better forum, which is Bitcointalk, if you read through the threads on btt, you'll understand how much efforts users put in to educate other users on the important aspects of the Bitcoin network like security, privacy, anonymity, trading advice/investment plans etc.
IMO Cryptotalk and similar forums based on paid to post incentive won't last that long, unless they can create their money out of nowhere (looks like Cryptotalk did it with their token). Even if they were able to do that, the money you earned will be smaller as time goes on. Might as well do some faucets.
+1.
Cryptotalk tokens will prolly be worthless in the long run, and they are paying users with it now only to keep the forum running, I think if there is no incentive such as they are doing, their traffic will be close to zero, that's why it's somewhat counterproductive, and better to build a forum based on quality than earning incentives.

Easy money usually means easy efforts. And you can't expect to earn big doing that, unless you cheat the system. Investing your time in a high-quality forum is worth it, not only from financial perspective, but from reputation, knowledge, etc.

Hello, a warm welcome for you to the forum, I am also a member of cryptotalk, I think this is the topic that you have seen about bitcoin talk and crypto talk https://cryptotalk.org/topic/109555-things-you-need-to-know-about-cryptotalk-and-bitcointalk/

It is good that you join this forum for gaining knowledge, as what my experience in cryptotalk, most of the member there are looking for money so they choose to stay on that forum because they can earn money even though they are still a beginner but you know what that money that they can earn won't help them to become better in the world of cryptocurrency because you are right that most of the topic there is not well related to the cryptocurrency. It seems like they are just creating topics for them to have additional payment.

You may also read this thread, it will help you to understand more the forum:

Thank you for the link, there are some rules that are the same as the rules of the cryptotalk. I will follow all those rules to avoid getting banned and committing mistakes. I am also following the rules of the cryptottalk forum so I can say that I can follow the rules of this forum as well.

I'm happy that you are here right now. It's worth your time to check over the different topics that are here already. If you have any other questions, you could just search using the search bar above because it might have been questioned and answered already. Anyways, here's a link to my post about what newbies could read on. (The main topic is an interview of Bitcointalk Members)

There are also a lot of interesting answers in the interviews asked by zasad@ there. It could spike interest more with you regarding bitcointalk. Some of it is about the forum and crypto in general.

Enjoy your stay here, and rank up!  Wink

that's just shows how successful this forum has been at weeding out all the mindless spammers who are trying to only make money and care about nothing else. forums are a place for discussions first not a place to earn money only.
when we also look at how they earned money (which was by helping scammers such as ICOs rob people) we can see it was a good thing that they moved away from bitcointalk. same thing will eventually happen to other forums too. it hasn't yet because they are trying to increase their popularity.

The other forum you mentioned paid to post with basically no content control, and presumably absorbed quite a set of this forum’s spammers with an easy entry (not all are spammers though). They still seem to pay to post through their own token, which is intended to be used within the platform.

Those initial foundation watery pillars are quite different from the ones Bitcointalk was built upon, and the legacy and current core active accounts on one and another platform have no comparison. (Account ) Numbers do not make up for content and history.
