Are you considering your posting on the forum as a job (basing my judgement on you using the word work), if that's the case then you're getting it all wrong. The moment you start considering your posting on the forum as a job then you'll start treating it as one which means, you'll begin posting just so you get paid and chances are your post quality will reduce and spams will begin to surface.
You'll see yourself engaging yourself in conversation you don't have an understanding about but just trying to post and usually they end up been generic contents. If you want to work on the forum, make use of the difference opportunity it has presented which posting shoudn't be considered as one. We have managerial jobs you can take part in which involves signature and bounty management.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is something new to few people but as they go learn it little by little then they could understand it slowly and but surely.Many newbies here doesnt even know what or how to use a simple wallet. In fact, many people are not newbies, and their purpose is very simple to make money, and it feels very bad. I read the posts of the bounty program, which are full of bounty hunters who signed up. The forum has aided so much help specially for the newbies but we should not stop them from earning from what they learned. It is actually the first thought they had in mind on why they chose to explore and learn about crypto. They can do both at the same time as long as they are following the rules with integrity. They can choose to work and spend their time learning while earning money. On the other hand, it is very important that they learn the basics first before striving to earn from crypto or else they will be vulnerable from scams and mistakes.
First of all, I do agree that this forum is a very important media and a big help for us the cryptocurrency community to learn further about all things related to the crypto world in a more fun way. We're not only reading the threads but also interact with the experts, and people who are more experienced in this field. However, for me, it's possible to do both learning and earning simultaneously. We can do earning while learning or vice versa, we can learning while doing activities in earning. I think it would be more efficient. But I agree if the motivation only for earning, you can face difficulty here so don't forget to learn also.

Merit already made it harder for newbies to see it that way, and it is really effective for sure. Surely even existing merit abusers these days that are trying to help those kinds of newbies will surely run out of sMerits. It sucks that we gonna have to live with it. Even by searching "Bitcointalk" in Youtube gives me a result on how to earn Bitcoins there.
I was introduced to this forum by a friend in my university days and I was told I can earn for being a regular poster, but at the early stage it was a kind of hard for me to comprehend properly but as time passes with persistent learning, I could gain knowledge that have helped in my entire cryptocurrency journey. so to me am strictly here to learn and earn if the chances are given.
Indeed, this forum is a good place to learn. But indispensable, there will be some alternative accounts for uninterrupted participation in bounty. But from another point of view, those who participated in the bounty replacement account did not disturb the normal order of the forum, and their scope of activities was limited to the Bounty section.
The problem is that crypto is so volatile and therefore comes off as a great way to make some quick money. With that in mind, the new members that come to the forum come, at least in this phase of the cycle, to get a quick turnover of profits and not really with the intention to actively participate in the global crypto discussion. I don't think that's something that can be changed until the market stops being so volatile.
The reason I was attracted to this forum is because I saw it somewhere that I can earn while posting on this forum, but when I joined I noticed you can not just earn, you will have to interact with people with good posts, I have to make researches about bitcoin and altcoins, I share my own ideas and learn from people. What I have noticed recently is that I have learned more than I expected because I make this forum my hobby. But most people will not want to learn but determine to only earn and become the father of spammers that will be banned or remain stagnant.
