I used to dream about waking up one day and buying stuffs on crypto website stores that are up to ebay standard but unfortunately till this day there is no single crypto project that solves this and make this happened, there have been too many projects that embark on this path but all we saw was the beginning, the end remains unknown.

I read that Amazon is planning to implement cryptocurrency payment in its payment system. You can pay Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum. Users will need a Lightning Network-enabled crypto wallet or register on the Coinbase exchange. Online shopping will soon be easier!

You can wake up one day and see the price of video cards go up like there is no tomorrow. The price of BTC will not let the users purchase new hardware and everything will be messy on the payment sheet. The stores which use the altcoins will don't care about the high transaction fees and they will be happy to accept crypto payments. Hope we will suffer on these days for future.

Maybe that's because of the volatility, they are hardly implementing this system because of the market status. I want to use my cryto as well in online stores but let us think this way, when we pay for that certain amount and then the price crashes the store will have a little short in their money because the value is not yet the same, same to ours we need to pay fee for every transfer, sometimes it takes time before we send it and then in a matter of minute or hrs the fee increases maybe that is the reason.

Not your Keys, Not your Bitcoins
To have eBay accepting cryptocurrencies as a method of payment would be awesome indeed, but yet they should handle the payment processing. I don't want to give my money to a stranger and then never receive the product. Asking for a refund is useless at that point.

In my country there is an ecommerce store like Newegg that does accept Bitcoin so I can say that the adoption is increasing.

Accepting crypto as a payment processor for online stores entails a lot of risk due to volatility and that is the reason why you hardly see anyone that will be accepting solely crypto. I know of newegg and also mb8coin tried awhile ago. Until the price of crypto such as bitcoin become less volatile, it will be hard to see ecommerce accepting solely crypto. How would you fee if you sell a phone and the price you accepted then has fall below the selling price. Who will bear the loss? You of course. You will have to compensate for the price if you want to stock your market

There's no need for a project to do this. The only needed cooperation for this to happen is those companies if they're willing to accept it. AFAIK, Newegg accepts bitcoin. They have a dedicated page for that announcement.

There are many complains surrounding Newegg products this days, I don't know if you are aware, the platform isn't that trusted and some end up getting scammed on the platform but it's a good thing they implement bitcoin payment though, I hope amazon makes this move because it's the best store I know
I'm not aware of it. But I've known people who are ordering hardware there and they're receiving it as what they've promised. But I'm worried about the warranty.
I haven't heard stories of being scammed but those people that I've read sharing their purchase through newegg, they've done it through the usual transaction for the payment and not with bitcoin.

True, there are few projects that planned to be online stores that will only accepts crypto as payment but failed, some raise money but still we got nothing, some don't even launch after waiting and waiting, I don't understand why this use case failed won't work out
I know some of these failed projects and one of them should be storiqa which has been turned into the scam project. This is a good idea but it's still too difficult to be created consider the blockchain is still focus into the financial economic system. That means if there will be less parties will try to pay their attention into this.
I had confidence on storiqa when it first came out, I thought it will be good so I invested some money, fortunately I only invested what I can afford to lose at the time and later I knew I made a wrong decision, the project is a complete failure, full crypto online store aren't going to happen unless existing stores decide to start accepting crypto as means of payment

The bitter truth is crypto is been treated as a valuable asset that needs to be kept than use as means of payment, people wants to double their money not use coins to make purchases, this is why such platforms ( if they exists ) won't gain better users

And also this one:

https://openbazaar.org/

It's p2p, however, the thing is that it doesn't get so much attention from crypto enthusiast at this point that's why I would say that adoption is slower with this p2p online stores like openbazaar ang newegg.

I also remember a project name https://junktion.io/, its supposedly the ebay of crypto, but I don't know, again it didn't get the needed hype from crypto enthusiast.
I have heard about this junktion.io before and it lacks exposure and good users too, I think this is another part to watch out for in projects that plans to make all this works, will people start using the platform? It shows that people still prefers to shop with their credit cards than using crypto

It would be cleaner and better if amazon, ebay, best buy and others just open crypto payments on their platforms than trusting a separate crypto project to do the job for you, since PayPal have took a step here it probably won't be long anymore before this actually becomes a reality

No project in crypto space can pull this off on their own without proper partnerships with popular stores like Amazon and others and believe me it's going to cost them some money and efforts too, this is something that only professionals in e-commerce and others can pull off, do not believe new projects that introduce such use case, it's not going to work after all

You can check this websites https://spending-bitcoin.com/ it's listing a online shop that accept Bitcoin payment (some stores also accepting another top cryptocurrency)

Seems Newegg is a scam e-commerce since it has bad reviews on many third parties websites.

Damn! Actually I've introduced Newegg to many people because my deals with newegg went smoothly with no problem at all and all what I purchased from the platform works well, I don't even know that newegg has bad reviews, I will stop referring people to the website starting from today

Nice info, its like spending bitcoin portal and categorize it by its product. Is any website like that which categorize it by the country? Im curious is there any store in my country which provide crypto as their payment processor.

Um Newegg seems sneaky but in the article most of them consider Newegg as scam because the 3rd party seller behaviour and not from the Newegg official store. Is there anyone here buy any stuff from their Official Store?

I have seen many project which offer to create store like that. I really appreciate and enthusiast for that vision, but at the end most of them are dissappear. I imagine the problem behind it is transaction-fee issue and technology isssue. As i know before, exchange like Cryptopia (which already close) have store like that which allow user to sell and buy stuff with crypto as payment processor which is cool, but i never use it since i really love my crypto over that stuff  Grin

That's a good news honestly I'm not familiar with that is this the website you were referring to? https://www.newegg.com/ well I think having some kind of ebay like with website with cryptocurrency as a payment would be really great for cryptocurrency users. However, I don't think it would be good for merchants especially when it is a bearish season.
