Hm... it's very common question but never get old.
Have you tried to search in Speculation section?
There are many things that can make the price of a coin/token go at least 10x.
The most fundamental one is use case. What the coin/project will bring in real use case?
The most recent example is Alchemy Pay. The price got 100x from 25th July ($0.0015) to 6th August ($0.16).
There are two main events/cause that drive those price. First, it got listed in Coinbase. Second, it has strategic partnership with Binance.
The use case for Alchemy Pay is hybrid crypto & fiat Payment Gateway. They have partnered with a lot of prominent companies like Shopify, and is already available in 65 countries.
When you found this kind of project, and if later the project really succeed, 10x is very possible.
That's just an example. Do your own research.
My suggestion is, find the market cap below $20 million.
Make sure the team is active and dedicated.
Read everything about the project to get proper knowledge.
As always, follow golden rule of investing.

It is very difficult for new gems to reach 10-100x at this stage. I have Sovryn, Pyr, Alice, Sand on my sleeve, but it still looks like it's new and needs some more time honing. But my choices to be feasible about 10-100x are defi and nft. It will definitely still reach. Good time to find and stock them.

Not a fan of small cap coin because they are not going to survive even the creator will abandon the project once he made enough money so don't be a stupid anymore guys or be ready to lose 100% of your capital while choosing small, cheap and new projects for investment.
All low market cap and high potential coins are good for holding. And in the next wave of bull run these coins will pump hard. I am not promoting any coin but i suggest you to search it yourself through coinmarketcap and invest in high potential coins. There are many defi projects that perform well in the previous bull run. And it will perform good in the next wave of bull.

if you want to search good project with small cap in the market wherein that has a potential to make good profits, i highly recommend to make research if it's has a genuine team behind to assure your money is safe and surely there's a good return after all. Not those very promising new projects but the team behind were using fake information because its very skeptical.. Indeed mostly experience losses so be aware.. it is very difficult to predict which coins can pump at least 10x in a few months. just look there are thousands of coins in crypto. even we can not predict which coin has such good potential. I think now the focus is on coins that are in the top rank and also have good potential 
It's still exist, did you see alchemypay? it was also giving a very big ROI instantly with the cooperation that already made by alchemy with VISA and MasterCard. THe big ROI was not an impossible thing in the crypto dude. The only problem is if it's difficult to find a hidden gem like that. Sometimes the pump was happening gradually.
It can be said that when you wanna get the hidden gem and then you must try to put more effort.
