I prefer doing my own research before making any decisions, especially when it comes to alt coins. I think personal research helps ensure a broad understanding of the subject at hand. While it can be helpful to consider other people's advice, ultimately taking the time to do your own research can lead to more confident decision-making. It is difficult to predict at the moment which altcoin will perform the best in the future. I would put Ethereum first as the next better altcoin and it looks pretty good to hold for the long term. Also BNB, SOL, MATIC be useful to Hold for the next bullrun.
I have also experienced alot of people asking me about this same question on which altcoin is the next inline, if I give them any and things doesn't work out for them as expected, I will be the one they will blame for such recommendations of coin for them, so it's more better and safer to tell anyone to make his own personal research and conclude on what's good for himself, after all, we are taking risk on investment we made on any altcoins.
No one is investing based on other risk and whenever some ask for suggestions about better coin that's doesn't mean that he has no knowledge or little knowledge about best coins but he want to know that other people suggestions also and maybe someone have a knowledge and research about any project that he don't know and he able to make research on it. I agree with you that own research is very important and just following other advice or signal without own research is just waste of money.

Better to do your own DYOR and decide to whatever project you think will gives you the outcome that you desire, it's not good to listen to anyone's advise, it's better to use that as referrence to do your deeper research about the project, if after reviewing and you see that there's really a good potential then that's the right timing to invest your money.
The best project always rely on how you do your research and study, both with the potential of the coin and the team behind the project, you also need to consider who's the people behind and what are the venue that the team is targetting to make the project successful.

You're right. It is better to do own research than rely on other people's suggestion. Even if we want to consider the suggestion from other people, it is better to do own research as well. There are too many cases of losing money on the scam projects because of following people's suggestion. Bitcoin and top altcoins are the right options to choose if we don't want to speculate on altcoins. If we still have lack of knowledge and experience, it is better to choose reputable crypto coins such as BTC, ETH, ADA, BNB, SOL, MATIC, DOT, TRX and other top 50 coins in CMC/CoinGecko. According to my experience, these coins are safer to hold until the bullrun season.

to how they may know if the project is legit and good to trust but that is on the other hand is correct that we must also
dig on our own because sometimes shillers are what we can find in this forum those account that trying to push some

but if you want short term or mid term of course these two altcoin projects cannot be expected,

I think, Ethereum and binance are in a good position to give you that kind of bright future you want, if you can take a good step in this season to invest on them because the price of Ethereum and binance will increase higher in the future to help their long term traders and short term traders to embrace something good from their investment.
