could you give more info about Crypto Asset Platform? get nothing about "crypto asset platform" from google.

You will find all info here:
https://nxtforum.org
NXT is the only running in production crypto platform at this time.

Others are planning to launch later this year. if someone knows another running crypto platform, feel free to add, I am interested.

To summarize my understanding of how is it now:

First generation is Bitcoin. Has problems with unfair mining and creates an industry of special mining devices. Not so anonymous as it supposed to be.

The next generation solves these problems. And better to talk about Technology, not the coin. There is CryptoNote technology. Bytecoin is the first CryptoNote coin developed from scratch (new source code, different team, but there are some rumors it is Satoshi's next Project, planned in 2011). There are some forks around it - bitmonero/monero, quazarcoin, fantomcoin.

CryptoNote main difference - it solves problems with anonimity and provides fair mining as it is CPU only.

Hi Monero Shill.

"Next Gen" does not equal anon and shilling...
If people really cared about anon... then very public Social Media networks would not exist.

Next Gen means Crypto Asset Platforms.

Just marketing ploy. It's what those developers call themselves.

As an advice: Take the words of this user with a grain of salt. He is screaming scam wherever he can.

indeed..

just do this:

grab this list (thank you lordoliver ) :

- litecoin (the first, and as it was long time asic resistant quite popular)
- dogecoin
- peercoin (the first pos, thats why its quite popular)
- namecoin
- quarkcoin
- darkcoin (not sure how much they took from the original qt, but i would call it 1st generation, the first good anon implementation, thats why its popular)

and then do a casual search and compare it to this list:

then you have NXT. The first from ground new written coin with a better frontend and real new features. Real pos forging and so on.
This is called a second generation coin. There are also a few clones of it:
- NAS
- NHZ
- NFD
- N2

that's all you have to do.

Hello! I'm newbie in this world. Can anybody help me? I've heard such term as "next generation coins" manytimes, but google is pretty bad about it. could you explain:
1) is "next generation coins" real term or it's marketing ploy?
2) if it's real - do you have some links about? i'm interested on it.

first you have bitcoin as first generation
then you have a lot of 1st gen clones, that just take the wallet and chang the algorithm a little or some other specs. some even don't change anything.
- litecoin (the first, and as it was long time asic resistant quite popular)
- dogecoin
- peercoin (the first pos, thats why its quite popular)
- namecoin
- quarkcoin
- darkcoin (not sure how much they took from the original qt, but i would call it 1st generation, the first good anon implementation, thats why its popular)
...

This is called a second generation coin. There are also a few clones of it:
- NAS
- NHZ
- NFD
- N2
...

they could be called 2nd generation coins because they base on a second generation coin, but they will be about like the clones of bitcoin were, maybe a little better.

there are also some other from ground new programmed coins, that could be called 2nd generation:
bytecoin (which is claimed to be "released" already in 2012) and its fairer and same popular clone monero as well as their later and less popular clones
Qora and its coming clone Kora

currently we are waiting for a few coins, that also could be called 2nd generation or maybe even 2.5 or 3rd generation because of new features:
NEM (Proof of Importance + decentralized trust handling)
maidsafe (decentralized encrypted storage)
etherum (decentralized applications)
eXoCoin

advice: read the announcement threads daily

"next generation" usually means (but not always so please conduct due diligence ) :

We will replace all the aspect of actual crypto currency with hubris and scams, but we will make them LOOK awesome ! and have really slick "features"

that's generally what "2.0" and "Next generation" crypto does.

the "hubris and scam" part is a worry, but its no worse than the actual stock market, so check out each one on its merits.
