There is no interest. All coins were created at one time, no more coins are created.
Forging is rewarded with transaction fees, forgers include transactions into blocks and receive fees paid by users who sent those transactions.

Do I have to have my NXT wallet running in order to get free IGNIS when the snapshot starts in July? Anyone?
You should run your own NXT wallet if you can.
Exchange can goxx you. Your own wallet can't do that.
If you don't hold the private key, you don't own it.

Did you know you can mine NXT (and buy Ardor with it on the Nxt Asset Exchange!) in the Lucky node project?
Computational and bandwidth requirements are very low - some users run it on a Raspberry Pi.
Run the node 24/7 or as often as you can while you work or play.
Join in with the over 100 nodes that are already in the project.
This is what is called forging.. and it requires about 1000 nxt coins to forge if I remember well? maybe not.

You were under the right impression. Withdraw to your own wallet.
Exchanges have no obligation to credit you with IGNIS if you hold NXT, at least they haven't announced they would. Maybe they will. It's silly to depend on them. Install the wallet and withdraw from exchanges.

I don't think Ignis will be listed on Polo, what is affecting NXT team is that they thinkdilluting the price of their tokens will help attract more investment but it is a simple Mattew effect being in play here

if IGNIS distribution same as ARDOR, that will be great and very comfortable.

I have read this on reddit... Is it neccessary to have a NXT wallet or will exchanges like poloniex run internal snapshots too?
They did it this way with Ardor snapshot...however, as far as I know they did not confirm the same for IGNIS yet.
