Now that Facebook has announced that they will come out with their own cryptocurrency, which platform do you reckon will be next? I’ve heard rumours that it could be twitter.
I will not believe if twitter will create its own crypto like facebook. But more financial platforms will be interesting to launch their own cryptocurrency. I'm still waiting for JPM coin and that can become a real proof for another company.

Facebook really wants to build its business octopus in all fields, they don't want to be outdone by their business rivals such as Line, Telegram who already have their own coins. For Twitter, I have never heard of their plans to enter the world of crypto

Where have you reach such information? Always provide a link with your statements to validate them.

Anyway if that goes through probabily Instagram or even Reddit as they are the most used platforms as social medias.

I saw this news on two weeks ago it was really positive news in crypto market. Most of the countries peoples are using facebook it will be popular in entire swirls soon. I little confused If we analyse the past days facebook also avoid the crypto promotion now they plan to develop the facebook coin. So cryptocurrency will beat Fiat currency.

FaceBucks!
Just like Bitcoin except less safe and now more expensive than ever! Oh, and they only work with Facebook.
 Roll Eyes WHY??!!??
It already kind of sucks the way I see the proposed fbcoin or "FaceBucks". The shareholders of fb want more money and they do not want to stop at illegal sales of personal data to the highest bidders so they create a token to mint more money.Centralization is not a good attribute of any crypto and I think fb really is just that.

They are far away from the predictions we make with their research and development teams. They've stated about the usage of a stable coins backed with USDT which gets used all around their platforms. From my view they'll be planning much bigger and sometimes already they might have developed the product which might be under testing. Because every new implementation on Facebook will be developed years back and goes into testing at least for few years time.

If Facebook is really going to do this big step and create their own cryptocurrency
That's still a rumor and we can't be sure if they really are going to create their very own cryptocurrency. They hired blockchain developers and personnel to work for something.

IIRC, by the end of 2017 Mark Zuckerberg posted something about cryptocurrency and his interest to it. I'm guessing that's a hint or he's just for the technology and will allow payments run on blockchain. Who really knows? gonna wait for their announcement.

And if ever there will be a platform that will create their own crypto, it's not wise I think, they should rely on bitcoin.

I'm not so sure that Facebook has, or will, created a Cryptocurrency. Their announcement made them only certain that they will use blockchain for a payment system through their Message Apps.

Using blockchain for a payment system is not the same as creating a cryptocurrency. There are properties that make a project like Bitcoin and Ethereum coins totally different from those created by companies. These include decentralization, open source, and equal rules for all system participants.

Jack is way too invested in Bitcoin to create an alt, Facebook will probably be alone in this endeavor. But if it does work out for them, this might change everyone's plans so who knows.

If facebook coin will be a successful project then I believe many other social media platform will be interested to do the same thing but I do not think twitter will be the one who follow it earlier. I'm not active twitter user, so I will be interested to see instagram or whatsapp to do the same thing.

Social media projects failed to cover the needs of mainstream and usually used social media sites already choose their side. After new coin rumours facebook shares surged a bit, hope average people will want to use the advantages of cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency have gain global recognition and at that big cooperation are now adopting the blockchain technology as the fastest means of getting things done online using the blockchain technology and cryptocurrency at the front line in financial transaction on the blockchain so Facebook creating their own coin is not a new thing to us again.

The next could be Google or Apple.
But I expect Google can do better than FB-like stable coin and that takes time.
So probably Apple will be next, having their coin, just like FB, but shinier (sarcasm).
Then Google will come with something closer to what a company's crypto should be like (although this is just a SF novel-like speculation and I don't know what could they build up).

Actually, Facebook has already been creating their stablecoin. The coins main purpose is for their message up. The plan is rolling and the release date, well they still haven't told it.

If this is going to happen, I bet facebook will charge users in some degree depending on which service users would avail. Facebook is going to revise its feature probably to be able for their cryptocurrency to have uses. That would be a kind of exciting but I don't know if people who are not into crypto will patronise it or just because they don't have a choice so they will. A kind of necessity for facebook addicts.  Grin

It feels like Facebook is going to issue something like WeChat Pay in China. They already have a huge audience and now FB will try to make them use their payment system.
The bad thing that I'm almost sure that this currency will be regulated by facebook and the government. FB has been banning people for everything: hate speech, free speech, trolling, whatever. it doesn't seem like now they are willing to make a free currency.

If Facebook is really going to do this big step and create their own cryptocurrency , i think we should not concern about other platforms doing the same thing, since that is almost guaranteed to happen. Facebook is the biggest social media platform and if this crypto will be well-received by its users i am sure in short time every other platform will follow them and create their own cryptocurrency.
