I think there will be a bigger dip around November 2017 or so just before the segwit2x implementation. Everything is speculative here. Infact, there will be major dips whenever a big software development is slated to go live. So dont worry, there will be enough number of chances to buy. But definitely nothing below $1500 now. Below $2000?, may be yes.

When bitcoins dropped under $2000 that was the best time to buy. You won't see that ever again unless something along the way goes horribly wrong. I'm not selling. That's for damn sure.

When the subject is crypto currencies, here bitcoin, I never be 100% sure for anything. You're much more experinced than me and you alredy know this. However, I agree with you about last $2000 was the best time to buy last week.
Sheee-oot, I can't even be 20% sure of anything in the wild world of crypto.  If the OP here is asking what he should do...how about stop trading and just hold?  I get a feeling that after we stall at $2800 (currently in progress), we're headed for at least $3000.  So dump all that wack stuff that isn't bitcoin, buy bitcoin, and hold it until you're in the black.  Pretty damn simple plan, and it's worked for at least hundreds of people.

Don't listen to any single line of reasoning!  Do your own, in depth, research and don't trade while you're under the influence of emotion....fear of missing out (FOMO) can get you rekt!  When in doubt, HODL!  Don't make a major move unless you have inside information ---> Don't underestimate the value of the altcoins ---> slack groups ---> social media campaigns.  There's money to be made in this space by those who are paying attention!

have you not been paying attention in the past 10 days? apparently not. so i suggest you don't plan on "buying in the dips" ever again because you missed one of the biggest dips of our times! price was $1000 lower than current value about 6 days ago, if you wanted to buy you should have bought then.

I remember that day, when bitcoin drop hard to $1800 and already recover $2817 right now, indeed its increase as much $1000.
But, Op maybe right for people who still waiting for another dip, last week was the last chance. Next week is another set point, whether bitcoin price will drop or continue to rise. I think bitcoin price may drop a bit, but not even touch-below $2400 again due to miners have been supporting BIP91 which is lead us to segwit2x.

The time to make money quick has passed on bitcoin. Anyone that wants to make large amounts of profit on bitcoin legally will have to invest and wait. The market will level out and go stale in my opinion.

I think I saw somewhere in the $1800s in the middle of the night when I got up to go to the bathroom the other night.   ETH was at around $130 too.   That was your best chance at buying on a dip unless something does go terribly wrong August 1st.   I think $2000 is going to be the floor for awhile.   I am hoping that we can make $3000 the new floor if everything transitions over smoothly.

For people who don't desperate for money to cover their expenses > sell bitcoin isn't an option. Better to keep it as long term investment obviously, in case in the future there are more merchants/retailers accept bitcoin payment, so we can spend bitcoin directly to purchase some good stuffs, even to buy a car.

We're facing on BIP148 activation on August 1st, but I guess miners won't take the risk of chain split, so they seems keep signaling for BIP91 on bit 1 using BTC1 software (v1.14.4).
But, I don't think bitcoin will ever fall down below $1500 again, moreover less than $1000, seems impossible for now unless there are some huge exchanges get hack, that's for damn sure. Cheesy

nope, IMO that kind of split is not that major and not going to affect bitcoin network a lot, unless that is major one, price of bitcoin is not going down hard (the recent drop gone repaired AFAIK). perhaps the price of bitcoin is not going terrifying on 1st August, take care of that.
All of that is what we are wishing for, even they split we want to stay bitcoin what is it specially in value instead we are wishing also for the more increase of its value to make our investment will generate much higher income for long term.

that split in regard of economic of bitcoin, is a lie for those people who wanna buy more bitcoins, that illegitimate terror hyper is wanting to lose all the investors' trust and then the liar buys all of them to be the monopoly IIRC. if you don't trust that is nothing happened Smiley

I don't think we say so confidently that Bitcoin prices never go back to 2000 range. Because this is a crypto world and it is very dynamic so anything can happen. But as per my opinion don't wait for any specific price to invest because if you wait for it then I worry you may get a chance to invest or not. So start buying small amounts from now and in next couple of years, you will make a decent profit from this investment.

Lol when bitcoins dropped under 1k it was the end of the world. Then we hit a new ATH, then the price just kept going up and up. There is way more volume than there has ever been and way more people use bitcoin. There's just no chance of us going to those prices again, and 2k is dirt cheap so I'm never expecting it again. Could it happen? Sure. If it does I'll be buying the dip.

People are wondering, the last week of July is the deciding whether you want to make a big profit, or you'll just miss it. For myself, I intend to sell some of my cryptoss, and hope to get a good entry point, but on the other hand I feel that last week's downtrend is the last one of this month, what do you think?
