Naija na blessed country, i no sure say e get person wey fit doubt/dispute that one, as Naija be so ehn, we get everything wey fit make this country better, but look where we they right now, i no go call wetin they for your OP as achievements because e no get any impact/change on the lives of average Nigerians in the country.

Having said that, Nigeria na example say person fit get everything wey go make am happy for this life but e still they suffer, i know say the the rest of Africa and the world go they laugh Naija, because they know say Naija suppose be that country wey go spring up from Africa to shine make the rest of the world see her glory, but corruption hold us like persom wey hold thief for neck. Every problem wey we they endure as Nigerians stem from corruption, if we fit tackle corruption from the root, then Nigeria go be better place to live.
At this point naija never achieve anything, our failures surpass our achievements by far and it's not a good one. See waiting they happen this period, fuel scarcity and now naira scarcity, how are we supposed to survive, it's disturbing that a country like naija stil dey go through this kind situation, for me Everything about naija na failure our only achievement is building strong citizens that can survive any situation because we we dey the county fit survive and we dey survive anything. Am pained!

Your talk no far from the truth at all, corruption na the major problem wey Nigeria get, like you talk for the part of your comment way i edit commot, Nigeria is truly blessed, i dey listen to one this government people for USA one day, he talk say, with the kind money wey Nigeria get, plus all the natural resource and other things like fertile soil for cultivation, good rivers wey we dey catch good fish, forest where we dey see good meat kill, even land wey our animals go see grass to feed on, he talk say with all this, Nigeria suppose be the world richest country, but he dey surprise the way wey the matter come be revise is the case.

Our problem na corruption, and corruption start from bad leaders, if we go fit get a good leader wey fit tackle corruption genuinely without looking any body face, i believe our country Nigeria go dey great again, but another question now be say ..Was Nigeria ever great ?

Nice OP, upon all these things wey you mention, e prove to me say Nigeria na still the giant of Africa but na leadership they doll us, but still at that, we still they see food chop and we still de ahead of some countries.
Imagine if we get good leaders, that means say nobody go fit stand and drags being the giant of Africa with us because we get so many Natural resources and enough land for food production, and we they also try industrially. How I wish Nigeria go get better leaders wey go change the economy and move the country to the promised land.
Correct mate, Naija no be chais country,on a normal,we get everything wey suppose make us dey alright, but the people wey dey lead us as you say nai be our problem. If you check out our currency too even as we dey talk say  e dey poor,e still betta pass some countries own by far.The problem wey dey the land be say,the ones wey don make money no wan allow the people wey Neva make, make their own. They wan continue  to dey dey ahead even if e means say e no dey favour other people,as long as them no dey in lack, dem no care. The availabe spaces wey dem for use employ people wey graduate from skul, and also dey capable of those duties, them go reservam for their children.E come make the poor remain poor, and the rich remain rich.

11) Richest lawyer in Africa – Adewale Tinubu – Nigerian $700 million.

Of everything you wrote here, there is only one that captured my attention which is in the title of the "The richest lawyer in Africa - Adewale Tinubu". Because immediately I saw the name, I went straight to Google to do more findings if this man is related to the jagaban master "Bola Tinubu", and unfortunately they are indeed related. Adewale Tinubu is the nephew to Bola Tinube, the APC presidential candidate terrorizing our social media with cruise.

So here is a picture of Adewale Tinubu (Richest lawyer in Africa) and Bola Tinubu (the jagaban master)

I would not argue the fact about him being the richest lawyer in Africa. The name alone should tell you that he is the defender of the jagaban dynasty so therefore, he should be cruising home with fat pocket after the success of every jury. We all know the jagaban himself will go at all cost to defend himself irrespective of the nature of the case or whatever the case may be. Money is not the problem neither is it a challenge for the jagabans to sort things out themselves  for their convenience, safety and all other stuffs which would likely put them in the public domain in a wrong way which we all know. Apart from that, we have no doubt he might double as the family lawyer so that grants him access to whatever he needs too and possibly business connect too. With all these features and attributes, I have no doubt he is the richest lawyer in Africa.

Comparing Nigeria to Ghana should be mostly directed to the jollof, because with what I just read, Nigeria as a nation seem to have made breakthrough in areas where Ghana or other African countries still dare to thread.  Although, in recent times, Ghana seem to be attracting investors, tourist, and international ovation for maintaining an almost steady system, it still had miles to go before its achievement measures that of Nigeria.
Finally, despite what we produce, we still have food prices going up and never coming down. Inflation and rates going up and never coming down. What can be said about the plight of other countries is theirs to contend with, we still got some fixing to do.

All these information na e make them say Nigeria na e be giant of Africa becos we tight for so many things. I own problem be say no be say Nigeria no get money and get mouth for the world but na d suffer we full the country na e make people dey vex becos check  out all the record wey we get still abject poverty still dey the country because of greedy leaders.

Foreign people know all these resources and income we dey enter the country na e make dem dey vex why the leaders still keep the country the way e be. Just imagine say Ghana wey dey use our kanji dam get light, dey celebrate so many years without power failure but  for naija we dey no fit get light straight two weeks for all the part of the country at once. We have intelligent and professionals in different field for our country but because the country dey anyhow many of them son run leave the country to another country wey value their worth.

You dey export all the agro products but food scarce and cost die for our country. No be juju be dat.

When it comes to this , I think Nigeria is really back compared to other countries when you put our resources into consideration,  countries like Ghana have made tremendous successes over recently compared to Nigeria in the economic and academic sector not talking about our power sector you will see that Nigeria is far behind other countries in Africa.

Even coming to sports we are way behind some African countries like Cameroon and Egypt,
But in music Nigeria leads the way and produce the best African musicians in the persons of Burna boy, WizKid and Davido. So Nigeria as a country generally is far behind some countries of Africa.

OP, you too much na this kind information wey we suppose dey read everyday. This one they give person hope say despite the katakata wey dey the contri we still get mouth for Africa. The thing wey for make sense be the export of those agro produce. See eh, if we fit increase our export of these produce and production while at the same time reduce our import and dependence on consumption, some of these African countries and even western nations nor go see our back. Well, I believe say hope dey sha. Hope dey.
D fact say, u see d content of OP as a means 3 b hopeful bin dey mak me imagine watin dey sup shah bt, wen I see ur reason towards export, e con mak me try see reason.

Though, if we no dey export am or at least majority of am, how dem carry get dis statistics. Dem no ft tell me say, dem get am frm calculating market women nd subsistence or smal scale farmers way b mainly frm farm to house nd if d harvest allow, som fit reach local market.

If to say, dis  na mainly frm d commercial or large scale farm way dem use get d stats wey dey dere, why we dey suffer lik dis, why e hard to afford fud items, why d economy jst bad anyhw?

I really enjoyed reading through your post, it is so full of positivity and gives me hope that if we can set things right in this country we can become not just a major player in Africa but in the world. Our politicians remain our biggest setback with the massive mismanagement of public funds. We nor dey where we suppose dey as country, and that na something wey suppose dey pain us normally. Another election season nai be this ooo, Make I talk am again, I hope say we dun collect PVC and dey ready to vote right. The people wey we go vote nai next month nai go determine how the country go be in the next eight years and if we go still get the remaining status wey we get for the world eye.

And we know say refinery no dey work, rice and beans don cost so wetin we won celebrate. Burna boy say my people dey suffer dey smile. I no mean to sound pessimistic but I be realist. I dey read this post I dey wonder wether na person way dey stay for Nigeria write am cause I strongly doubt am. Mary Keller fit dey diaspora. I take my time read the article OP carry write this post so I for fit understand how the author dey reason.

We appear to be in a good position if the majority of the population isn't consuming a large amount of the produce. We struggle to export most goods, and those that can be exported in larger quantities and are staple foods still spoil after a while. The richest names on the list exploit this same population and give back a little. Our hope is that the country is able to produce the right leaders to make the right decisions to get back the country

Wey the source of this thread as I believe this one no from your head, make you quickly post the source make you no go put your account for problem, quoting isn't enough as for all the achievement wey you dun mentioned, how e carry help our life. Why I go celebrate achievement wey no dey add anything to the average Nigerian life. How much you dey buy fuel wey you dey produced, infact how much wey you dey buy foodstuffs them wey you dey produced even the ones wey dey this list so, how much you dey buy them.

How I go enjoy Nigeria when I dey live like slaves for my own fathers land. Abeg make all this achievement wey you dey talk about shift one side as they have no impact in the average Nigerians life. Make nobody dey deceived us, our giant no reach anywhere. Small small countries for the same Africa wey we dey claim Giant to dey do better than us. See small Ghana wey we pursue commot for our land which day ago dun dey do better pass us already abi na Egypt, Algeria, South Africa etc.
That's the first thought that came to my mind after reading the whole thread. No doubt say Nigeria na the giant of Africa but this giant wey owna dey congratulate na one of the country wey get the highest unemployment rate for Africa. Recession, inflation and hunger wan destroy everybody for the country. For the thing wey this country dey good at na to get plenty personal achievements because na only individual growth dem dey after but to develop the country economic make things easy for the citizen na very big problem. Like mr brainboss has clearly stated, no need for any celebrations when the country itself is not adding any positive value to me.

Again the reference for this thread for make sense , so we too fit get access to where you provided all the information.

My body sweet me small as I read through but one fact be say, Nigeria as a whole dey always get negative reviews by press/journalist due to other reasons of scammers alert, kidnapping, poverty, politics, insecurity in general and na when the media focus on these na then we wey dey the country dey begin always feel bad.
Thanks for the update. Make dem try reduce the cost of food items since we follow for top producers of agricultural produce.
