Not your Keys, Not your Bitcoins
Very intelligent move made by the CZ & the co. Africa is a huge niche for cryptocurrency projects taking into account the big percentage of unbanked people there. We all know what success MPesa had in Kenya and pretty much all over the African continent. I strongly believe that cryptocurrencies are going to be the catalyst that will end the hunger and boost Africa economic and social development close to what we now see in most of the countries.

Especially because they have most of the population unbanked means that there are less hurdles and they won't have banks protesting against the change Cheesy

Good news, is there no regulation regarding fiat registration at the binanace exchanger? Usually the government provides several regulations for security arrangements. I don't see NGN on the binance exchanger, is it on the binance dex? Good support done by binance.

No surprise here, Nigerians are one of the most active traders dominating the industry.

I think that binance add NGN because Nigeria is open for new technologies and does not make unnecessary problems (good for them) rather than they have dominated the industry. Just loock at NGN/BTC volume. 26 M NGN - that's 75 k $. Its nothing. I know that its first day of trading but its less than noticeable.

Quite early though to start taking trading stats, don't forget we're in an unfavorable market season also it'll require time for the traders to buy into this idea as most of them currently patronizing Localbitcoin in buying of bitcoin with fiat so it'll require some marketing plus time to encourage more traders to be aware of this development and probably buy bitcoin directly from Binance.

i wonder why there is a huge trading volume, is it because there is no trust in the official political system and the economy or is it because of the opportunity and the freedom the market gives.

Both, the political system is corrupt, favoring only selective few while neglecting the masses also the opportunity the industry offers is also a driving force behind the numbers of enthusiast been recorded in the country.

No surprise here, Nigerians are one of the most active traders dominating the industry. When ranking the active traders in Africa, we're NO1 and our volume is also competing with other well know crypto friendly nations outside Africa. Nigeria naira becomes the first ever fiat currency to get listed on Binance and this will help us massively as before now localbitcoin has always been the main source of buying bitcoin for cryptocurrency enthusiast (traders and Investors).

I have seriously no idea about Nigerians dominating the trading industry as i have other misconception to be frank and good to hear that binance listed fiat simply because of the trading volume  Shocked. It is a good development for the entire continent and i wonder why there is a huge trading volume, is it because there is no trust in the official political system and the economy or is it because of the opportunity and the freedom the market gives.

Man, you should be awarded the cryptocurrency boss for Africa the way you have been hardworking promoting cryptocurrency for Africa and I think this is really a very good news for Nigerians, which means Nigerians are really participating in cryptocurrency a lot for binance to have even spotted this country out of many countries that are in their exchange trading, and don’t be surprised that it may get to a stage too where they will actually have a separate domain for them  like they have for US.

Nobody needs to tell me how Nigerians are participating in cryptocurrency because I have quite some friends there and virtually all of them are cryptocurrency holders while some her traders. This is a very good opportunity for Africa too having their largest country in cryptocurrency trades fully.

CryptopreneurBB, I know you're from Nigeria and I'm very happy that binance is adding your currency to its trading pairs.  They ought to add many more currencies in my opinion but its great that they recognized Nigerians as a force to be reckoned with in crypto trading.

Bitcoin (and alts too) is really a global thing and people need to be able to buy it with their local currency.  It's nice that exchanges like binance have stable coins denominated in USD, but they need to start accepting more currencies if they want to grow and attract more customers.

By the way, I've known some Nigerians in real life, and they are some of the most ambitious hardworking people I've ever known.  They put the average U.S. citizen to shame.

A very good development. Quite a way to ginger up African countries into adopting crypto and also at the same time creating more awareness about binance. Nigeria as a country is on the top list with the most active crytpo engagements in Africa and even in the world. This will open up more frontiers for adding more currencies.

i saw this update and was wondering how it was possible. The Naira been the first african Fiat currency on binance. a good means to promote crypto in africa and beyond. a welcome development. binance should assist us for withdawals when they need there funds. everything can be look into.

Not just first Africa but first worldwide. No need to wonder as the enthusiast from Nigeria patronizing Binance most have triggered this move by Binance. Many projects have not yet gotten the memo to capitalize on the opportunity as cryptocurrency is very huge in Africa, and Nigeria is leading the chart especially when it comes to trading and investment. it's the next alternative the citizens have towards escaping the corrupt practices in their respective nations.

Currently there isn't much physical usability of the currency like using it for everyday shopping, payment etc so what we mostly do as enthusiast revolves around Investing/trading with the currency.

It's probably about time. Hopefully, it doesn't kill other exchanges in Nigeria.

Nigerians are one of the most active traders dominating the industry
With most active airdrop and bounty hunters also. I've interacted with a lot of Nigerians on different ICOs/IEOs telegram groups.

This really an awesome news that Binance is supporting the cryptocurrency market growth in Nigeria, Binance have seen the opportunity in their market as the number of crypto users are really increasing day by day. According to their post, deposits will be facilitated by the online payment's company Flutterware, and it will be limited to BTC, BNB, and crypto exchange's own stablecoin BUSD.

Fellow Binancians,

Binance has opened deposits for the Nigerian Naira (NGN) through Flutterwave. We have also added trading pairs BUSD/NGN, BNB/NGN, and BTC/NGN to the Stablecoin Market (USDⓈ) as of October 24, 2019, 12:30  UTC. Users can now start depositing NGN and using it to buy BUSD, BNB, and BTC.

This will make it easier for users interested to trade bitcoin/altcoins get bitcoin through fiat more easily and probably spent less in regards to fees since there won't be need to transfer bitcoin from personal wallet to Binance exchange after probably buying it from localbitcoin (as we commonly do).

For users who'll be interested, there's also a trading contest. Head over to the link above and read more on this information. Trade carefully and smartly, don't forget; exchanges aren't wallet don't store your coins on them.
