I think the competitions pretty old? I've seen quite a few bodybuilders with builds like that and tbh, I have no idea how different they are most of the time, they all just look in general pretty amazing to me like sheesh, I sometimes wonder how the human body can have that much content in their body sometimes.

I think the most memorable one I remember about it was the Japanese one? IIRC it was tied to a dumbbell anime which had a catchy opening hence why I remember it.

Isn't the prize pool dependent on the type sport? So even if it was THAT hard, if it wasn't appreciated by the general public I reckon they'd only ever get amounts like these. Plus there's probably sponsors and stuff as well anyway so I reckon in total it's still pretty big.

It's not small chad, that's a luxury if you think that's not worth his prize. I think there are sponsorships in this and not just that cash prize. Well, congratulations to Sam, I think with that body he really deserves that though.
I agree with you on the fact that that 600k is quit a big sum of money, but you n the context of international Olympics such an amount is still small as grand prize considering the efforts and time put in by those athletes to build the structure and energy to win that competition a d how much other games grand prize winners walk away with, the other deal you mentioned is also another good way to get rewarded for winning that tournament and since the game is still relatively new, I believe the prize is gonna change when casinos begin to feature such games fans begin to bet on them.

This is the first time I am hearing such sport in the international competition. Though I have been seen it in gym centres and local competition and not in the international competition. And I have not seen a Nigerian build himself to this level that full with body muscles.
He is a Nigerian British Body Builder, and yes, sports events like Mr Olympia have been on, this is not their first year, and you must be the one not following up because the competition has had former winners. I saw a line that our new Mr Olympia has natural physique, and that's quite good because this is the first time he is winning this competition and it is looking obviously like it won't be the last for him. He needs to keep pushing from now onward because the expectations on his shoulder has doubled and increased.

Yes every bodybuilders look like him or more,  they look like monsters .
I'm sorry, but not all bodybuilders are like this. Some just focus on building some part of their body and staying healthy while they do it, not looking all monstrous like this as if they are preparing for war ahead of them, unless those who are already targeting for such competition are already targeting them. If not, my only reason for visiting the gym is to stay fit and healthy and not to appear very scary...

Dauda won 2024 Mr Olympia, and go home with $600,000 which is equivalent to ₦900 millions in local currency. According to the news this is the highest reward given to an athlete in the body building sport history. The competition took place at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas in the United States in the weekend (12-10-2024). 15 athletes participated to the final and Samson Dauda won the final.

Have you seen a bodybuilder like this before?

Honestly, I've never heard of a body builder with such name before he was announced as the 2024 Mr. Olympia. Looking at the picture, you'll agree with me that it takes a lot of fitness training and discipline to achieve such physique so I think he rightly deserve every penny he gets from winning the competition. The good thing about this win now is that he's also going to get lucrative endorsement deals that'll fetch him more fortunes than the actual prize he won. Congratulations to the Nigerian-born British body builder

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
Congratulations to him, and from the look of things, this competition is relatively new and that way the reward is so small, and if time permits them to develop further as in the future, I bekeuithe $600,000 is subject to change, why I focus on the winner rewards is because this is an international competitions it surpose to gain more popularity that it grand prize should be something reasonable compared to other international Olympics games.

Body building and weight lifting is something that have been in the games limelight for ages, but because of some restrictions and limit on such games that have direct effects on the health and bodily injuries.

I don't know if the OP realise this but there is already an open thread for the Mr Olympia 2024 discussion here - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.64640902. This is looking like a duplicate although it is focused on only one  individual, I think the same conversations can still go on there.

In addition to that, other bodybuilders have won the Mr. Olympia title many times since its beginning in 1965.

Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney have won the Mr. Olympia title for 8 good times, each. Phil Heath and Arnold Schwarzenegger have won the Mr. Olympia title a good 7 times.

However, this was just Samson Dauda's first time winning the Mr. Olympia title. Let's see whether he can do the same by next year with his astonished bodybuilding physique.

Samson has learned to so much from all of these past bodybuilders especially Chris Bumstead who has now retired after this competition. Kudos to him by the way.

Speaking of Prize money if Samson is able to defend this title by next year, he is not going to go home with the $600 any more it is very much likely to be more because Chris Bumstead has promised to up the money by add a little of his to it. I talked about it in the thread -https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.64640902

Yea, I believe it is a new competition and he is the first.
The first Mr Olympia was held in 1965 and there are other body building competitions available of which this is the most prestigious. It is not a new sport and this is certainly not the first winner.

The competition has been getting more popularity in the recent years especially with the introduction of social media which has been building up the gym and fitness community.

I had no idea a Nigerian had reached such incredible heights in bodybuilding on the global stage. I've seen bodybuilding mostly in gyms and local competitions but seeing someone like him rise to international prominence is something else. Winning Mr. Olympia and taking home such a huge prize is a remarkable achievement not just for him but for Nigeria too. It just goes to show how far dedication and hard work can take someone. Hats off to Samson Dauda for making history and representing Nigeria so proudly!

Congratulations to him and I must say it's a good thing to see that a Nigerian has at least seta record in body building, I believe this will also encourage those are aspiring to be one to continue with their body building with the hope to one olympia one very day.
However, from the currency conversion rate I think it's above 900m, using the current rate of dollars at 1670 per Naira we are having about 1b, 2m Naira (1,002,000,000). That is to say #1670 x $600k, any way I believe they used official bank rate while we are using p2p exchange rate.

Yes every bodybuilders look like him or more,  they look like monsters .
He is a world champion so it's safe to say that he has an edge over other bodybuilders. No doubt, all professional builders are insanely huge, but to win a contest like that you must be comparatively better than the rest or you flex better (the judges look to have lots of criteria that goes into their final decisions).

It's great seeing a Nigerian excel in competitions like this where we do not have regular presence and this could create a path for other aspiring body builders in different parts of the world.
Nigerians are now doing better in sports both in the popular ones and not well popular sports. For him to have won in this kind of sport then I must commend his effort before now.

I think this will be a good start for other bodybuilders who are willing to take a career through this part and an assurance that anything can be possible to anyone who is consistent in what they are doing. $600k may look small to some persons, while to others it's a huge win for them.

$600, 000 in this Nigerian economy is a very big amount and from the Op this is the highest pay builder in the history. This is a plus to Nigeria as a country. Bodybuilding competition has been on ground since September 14, 1901 and it was called the "Great Competition" and the event took place at Royal Albert Hall in London. And after that competition, bodybuilding became part and parcel of human exercise and became a game for those who like to build their body structures.

congratulation to thim, of course it is an honor for him, his family, his country and all of Africa, and special thanks to the sports officials in America and to everyone who trusted him and helped him. I believe that the only problem facing African athletes is their presence in their countries, and when they are given the opportunity, they never disappoint, and this is evidence that all the hours he spent in the gym suffering were not in vain. I wish him more success in the future.

That’s generally what they look like, so yeah I have seen a bodybuilder that looks like this before.

No doubt he looks incredible though, such a powerful physique. Pure dedication and countless hours in the gym, plus a strict diet. Congratulations to him, he deserves the plaudits he is getting.

Congratulation to Samson Dauda for winning Mr Olympia, he's truly an inspiration for all citizens of Nigeria. I would also congratulate all my friends of the forum who are from Nigeria that someone from their own country has won such a prestigious award. By the way, his physique is well built and that's why someone like him deserves such winning.

Yea, I believe it is a new competition and he is the first. The price is not small at all, because he is the first bodybuilder to have the richest prize in the history of bodybuilding, and you say that $600,000 is small. Common man, how much do you think that he deserves for a competition like this. That's a huge amount of money for Samson Dauda and anyone who can win such amount. He has made his country proud because all those that represented Nigeria in 2024 Olympics won nothing.
