This thing about street pranks and all that in Nigeria is very risky. I watched a video where a popular prankster pranked a soldier. He took the phone of the soldier and stoned it on the ground. You need to see the reaction of the soldier man he beat the guy before the other solderless came the prankster has collected a lot of slaps. His intention was to give the soldier a new iPhone 14. Yes, the intentions were good nut what if in the process of the prank he fainted or something bad happened to him.

I have the source to the video link you can check it out here - https://youtube.com/shorts/mVoSOsFrNVQ?si=hpWXcSG0avM9Kgm_
That serves him right because that prant was joke taken too far. How can you smash someone's phone because you want to give him a bigger phone. He could loose sensitive data that is worth more than the iPhone 14. Most times, the information we have in our phones is more valuable than the phone and it will be painful loosing such information to mere iPhone 14 under prank.

If people are not careful, they might enter into serious problem in the name of creating content. There are better ways of getting good content that will not put anybody at risk.

As content creation gains popularity and people start making it big from YouTube/ Facebook monetization, content creators are becoming increasingly desperate and are willing to do any content to gain followers.

Pranking people on the street has become a common order with no consideration of the victim's emotional/psychological state of mind.

While we watch these videos and enjoy the entertainment part of it, some of the people pranked are left emotionally drained, some relationship/ couples trust has broken because they were pranked to check there faithfulness to each other and some people have lost so much useful information from there phone because a popular prankster smatched it on the ground and gives the victim a new one, not considering some important information in the phone that might be lost in the process.

Of course, some of these guys have landed themselves in trouble because they pranked the wrong person but others are yet to learn there lessons.

Entertainment is not bad, as a matter of fact I enjoy watching them alot but when you ridicule or take advantage of the ignorance of others just to create your content, it becomes a problem.

One thing about human beings dem be say so far as the thing dey give dem watin they want, they no really dey concern again about the other person way actually dey involved for the matter because e no dey easy because no be everyone go fit handle the shock wey some of these prank-stars or comedy skit makers  dey put their target through, I mean just imagine how person go dey so naive as to use snake scare person even if na fake e no still comot the fact say the person wey dem prank go still dey for shock and fear and if the person sef na the type wey dey fear well well then maybe other fatalities sef fit dey involved for the matter. This skits dem, although most of them are funny but when e cross or breached the convenience of the  person den the whole thing don turn to another case entirely making it not funny at all.

me personally have never believed that those pranks are real because I see a lot of acting in the Entertaiment industry. Thie things are often scripted and made to look real. If not, we might have heard of them being shot or even terribly molested cos you cannot keep doing these humiliating things to people and be getting away with it like that. I believe it's all about entertainment and not just real-life activity cos if not, they are really crossing their bounds and it is not entirely safe especially in the Nigeria of today where people are really frustrated.
I vouch for the fact that none of the occurrences mentioned on social media are true as well. When one looks closely, it appears to be real, but when one investigates further into the system, they will find that it has previously been assigned and executed by a certain number of people. All of the viral content videos that are released on social media are just intended to be appealing to individuals who want to become famous quickly. The reason I give them credit is that it's not relatively easy to write scripted jokes and transform them into acting for the purpose of entertainment. I've seen many instances where content creators go to tremendous lengths to ensure that they shoot visual interesting content.

Disclosure of one's privacy to the public in the name of entertainment or prank is very wrong and unacceptable. On the other hand, concerning broken marriages, relationships and friendships I think the victims are responsible for their break-ups because they promote these content creators or pranksters by inviting them to prank their partners knowing fully that the pranksters will post the video to the public to gain followers, likes and for the video to be shared which is the primary target of every prankster. What baffles me a lot is that others do not want to learn from these victims rather they would like to be involved in the same issue and the end they will look for whom to blame. These victims should take responsibility for their actions since they want to learn the hard way.

Omo the whole content creating of a thing has turned to in epidemic in Nigeria, from eating of food, to swimming in gutters, to nakedness, on social media. This entertainment pattern is becoming irritating nowadays.
The other day, I was just walking into the Spar mall, a guy just approached me with a mic 🎤 that he has a question to ask him, that I should give him five minutes of my time with a camera man beside him, I just look am with my vex mind, i just tell am to commot for my front, when him see my countenance say I no get joy, Baba just give me my way. Everything don turn content for naija.

Them don dey over do, the pranks on family and couples don dey too much. I sabi say oyibos dey do something like that but na for shows wey dem organise well and with couples approval to reveal whatever.

I watch one wey prank somebody say land wey him buy another person don buy am and carry caterpillar enter begin dey do work there. Omo you need to see real fight for the site, the person wey rebuy am na force officer so him dey brandish gun say him go waste the original buyer wey dem dey prank.

Make dem easy so dat deir money go fit last, let Dem not cut deir joy short.
Most of them no dey consider the mental health of the person wey dem want prank, e get some things wey dem no supposed dey do but dem dey too push am extreme all in the name of hustle. The person wey dem dey prank, dem kno no wether the person get high BP or other health condition, na when dem don kill person and parade don change, na there e go clear for their eyes. E get one prank wey dem dey call missing object prank and the reaction of some of people ah no find am funny ooo, some people fit run enter road and motor fit kill person.

Also, another area wey our content creator dey fail na the area of recording and uploading of personal video without the person consent. I don see some videos wey some people go dey fight content creator because dem post their video online, and the content creator go still post the second video of the fight without taking caution or rethinking their actions. Nigeria na one country wey lawlessness na the other of the day, but if you check this thing, na serious crime for other part of the world and the accused if found guilty go pay monetary fine or fit go jail.

Hmm, at least I am not the only one who is on the same opinion about the recent flood of these types of  content, because the rate of content is just too much and the worst part of it is that the victims that are being targeted are no longer considered. A lot of so many marriages and friendships have been destroyed all in the name of creating content. Although I agree that the whole thing is entertainment, at least the negative effect is now becoming alarming. I mean the shock that some of these victims experience during the shooting of this content alone is enough to actually destroy their emotional wellbeing and the so-called content creators are not concerned about it whatsoever.

There was this particular content about a particular girl being exposed to habits that could damage the social life of the girl to the extent of her being seen as an evil and unwanted person if actually what is being portrayed is true and this can lead to her marriage life being damage and still yet there was no consideration to this as the content was still made public to the whole society to actually witness the flaw and error of this particular victim.

That is the most biggest things that Nigerian content creator have been doing around, they will be pranking anybody they like without being scared of what may happen after it, always think about how they will keep on getting more followers, they can also frank soldiers now, but anybody that prank soldiers no dey ever see am as an easy thing except they watch their skits and they know that you are doing that to make money, they fit use that one take am easy with you, if not na from where u start am you go start chopping beating, dey go beat you to the extent you will not like yourself too. I can't be looking for money and still be risky myself again

If you dey watch this guy skits @iamtrinityguy that guy prank no be for here, the guy just dey prank anybody he likes, young or an old ages no dey bother am, na so the go just dey prank anybody he even got caught by police but couldn't stop because that is where he can make money. But that prank is very risky, a different kind of prank you go see some people they do prank with man private part just that everybody wanted to become a content creator with risky.

It doesn't look real to me, but I dey still comfuse about am, at the beginning I thought it was real the way they are acting it but I started doubting them when dey dey involve actors and actresses of nollywood which I been think am say this one no be real again, because they have to inform them before the to it.

I think this prank is of two types which are real prank and script prank, real prank are normally for the poor people because they can not harm them, in this regard they are not doing justice, people don't care any more they are after themselves, all in the name of popularity dey care about people life, while the script prank are for rich people because they know they can mess with them

It is very sad how our society is gradually turning into a lawless society. Everyone behaves the way they like in this country, peoples privacy are being intruded and all we do is laugh and call it fun. For crying out loud everyone is entitled to their privacy as you can't just bump into someone's life without their knowledge or approval.

Well, I put the blame on our government because had it been they create an enabling ground for her citizen, some ridiculous acts would have stopped. One major problem that this country has is that nobody wants to create anything on their own again, they prefer following trends anything that is trending thats where everyone focus their energy with the beliefs that what is working for others can as well work for them thereby doing everything possible to gain attention and recognition from people.

Our society has become so porous that what one person is doing that is what others will also want to do without generating new ideas that will profer solution to people's problems.

It is actually disgusting seeing the extent some people go to create content. No safety measure in place for some of them and they can actually cause someone sick to have crisis. For example, this one uses fake snake to prank random people on the street. This is extremely dangerous! If they use only those among their crew for the prank, it would have been better to avoid any emergency. Besides, we already know it is just script they are acting.

Entertainment is not bad, as a matter of fact I enjoy watching them alot but when you ridicule or take advantage of the ignorance of others just to create your content, it becomes a problem.
I don't know if there are regulations to these things but I think government have to do more in this regards to avoid emergency. Content creators have to be guided by rules that guarantee public safety.

Lots of youths now see content creating as the new oil well yet lack creativity.  Prank is the new trend now. Recently watched a video of a prankster asking an adolescent for nudes.what a prank! That was the height of it. The Nigerian government should do something about this ridiculous pranks . It is becoming alarming . Content creation in Nigeria should be regulated.  Content creators with inappropriate contents should be sectioned accordingly.

Wetin me for like make dem do be say make them settle down do am like film where people go dey conscious of what they are doing to remove emotions damage, breaking of homes and killing one another. Me self don watch plenty video and I dey extremely cautious of when person go approach me to start asking me questions, especially for street and stores or any eatery e dey mostly happened over there so we go dey prepared say person fit set you up or break your home. This one too go teach our men lesson so that them go mind how them go talk sometime because this our country dey turn to pranking nation where person for enter you unknowingly and you go exposed yourself which for married women if their husbands sees it home is destroyed.

You dey look the negative aspect while me I dey look am from the positive aspects as if dem lose their important information or other important contacts atleast dem go learn to dey get backup. Most phone has backup that you can back up information wey no dey sensitive to their server, dis one no be Bitcoin or finance things wey you no supposed store for centralized server but they're things like picture, videos and phone contacts wey you go store for your phone so you fit recover am when you get the new phone or buy a new one yourself. As for the other sensitive information, you support dey get a local storages for dem and na wetin I dey learn from this pranks video. Dey no dey funny but we dey in a society wey everybody dey claim freedom of everything without caring how e dey affect the other person so na for us to just protect ourselves.

I see news which day wey one prankster was shot and he almost lost his life outside the country, Nigerian pranksters get luck say gun isn't allowed legally here if not many of them for dun lose their life because we no get good health facilities for here and you know say police report is needed in most cases before hospital take your matter self. Another thing na for us not to take things seriously and just enjoy life, if your relationship break because of trust issue it means say dat relationship no be am. Why your partner no go show you love in all condition. Better the relationship end then e get more stronger and similar things happen in future then you later find out say you been dey date yourself all this while.

One thing I like for a fact be say, these guys are looking out for legit means to make a living and not just making money for the moment but, building something that could earn them something for a life time.
Eventually, them think very little on what they are doing because, they are living actual casualties on the way without even knowing.

Like the idea was to entertain and eventually, you live some people broken. You don’t archive the whole purpose with that!

Pranking people on the street has become a common order with no consideration of the victim's emotional/psychological state of mind.
People actually get emotions and psychological issues and these guys need to realize that, in fact I feel they do realize because, that’s what the humor is supposed yo be about but, they don’t really give a shit on the immediate victims.

There is a twist yo it though. Some go as far as writing and caring scripts while portraying it to be the real deal but, we know and under appreciated those once.
That’s how twisted the matter be but, Omo, them need yo watch it. Now, some people live Dey there devices and they might just be extremely cautious as new and more costly devices fit no worth info way some devices hold.

Well said but with the look of things, some prank look scripted why others are real prank. To keep the life of people safe, I think the government should do something about prank that are not scripted. They have cause problem for many family and relationship that would have end in marriage. This prank is increase divorce rate if we'll checked. Op you are right with your point of views

The conciousness of content creators is ought to be extremely adhered and concerned with the instincts and impacts it is being inspired to the public.

There could be negative and positive inflicting effects that content creations can Influence its audiences which maybe as>>>

* Entrepreneurship: this could inspire the public/viewers socially aiming to exhale and inhales inspirational productive ideas either for promotional campaigns or innovative of ideas with the potentials of exhibiting great course of expressions and depressions.
