He will get the Noble prize, not for Bitcoin, but for the blockchain which is much more important.

I agree with you

Dont they give one for economics or something similar? John Nash won one with his game theory, so you would think it would fit in the same category.
Yes, the economics nobel prize is one of the more "major" prize they give out and is, IMO, the most valuable nobel prize. I would say that if it were possible to give an anonymous person such as satoshi a nobel prize then he would likely win one in economics. However I highly doubt that he would come forward to claim his prize.

#1- Satoshi is more than 1 person
This isn't a problem. We saw lots of "collective" Nobel prizes in these last years.

Ciao!

If the people who invented blue led lamp would be getting nobel prize!

What about the one who invented the currency of the future?

                                                                     Nobel for Satoshi!

Let the petition begin!
Firstly, it's too early. BitCoin has to grow and become more popular.
Secondly, Satoshi Nakamoto is anonymous, so it would be hard to give him a nobel prize Tongue

A Nobel prize for this amazing invention! why not?!
I don't think the institutions running that price understand what the hell Bitcoin is tbh.

Plus Satohi would never go to get the price in person  Tongue

The five Nobel Prizes are awarded for outstanding contributions in the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and work for peace.

While obviously they can't give him a Nobel per se in those official five fields, if they would ever give him one it would be probably be the 'Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences' which is awarded by the same people who award the Nobels for Chem and Phys. But, that is assuming they're willing to give it to someone who is considered to be anonymous...

Bitcoin can play a role in fighting poverty, on the long term.

I hope Satoshi will spend his bitcoins well, first it needs a marketcap in the trillions I guess to really have effect.

Maybe if there is a movie sequel, he will also win oscar for it?
Perhaps I am off topic in a satoshi nobel thread, but I should point out... in my studies, many people adore dr. nash.  and it is strange...but we have all seem to have seen his life's movie, not that it is entirely accurate, but most people I know have seen it, and recall seeing it from some time ago.

Also if John Nash won the Noble prize for game theory, then Satoshi can win one for blockchain.
Szabo gonna win one for proving nash wrong about smith...even though the movie scene was a mistake.

This would underestimate the potential of Bitcoin. Better is to award new innovations in the field of cryptocurrency by Satoshi Prize instead of Noble Prize.
Great idea, wouldnt be surpised if Satoshi puts his btc in a fund like Nobel did, from which the winners will get paid in btc.

The five Nobel Prizes are awarded for outstanding contributions in the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and work for peace. Bitcoin is not an outstanding contribution in any of those fields, and therefore Satoshi does not deserve a Nobel Prize.
Actually, the peace prize would be perfectly appropriate for bitcoin. All previous forms of worldwide money (government-issued promissory notes) were backed by violence, bitcoin is the first backed instead by mathematics.

Well said! Maybe next time fellas Cheesy
