If Nvidia do reduce the warranties like that they will probably lose whats left of their tiny footstep in the crypto space. As it no longer makes sense to buy any gpus for mining anymore.

I cant imagine sending alot of $ to bitmain and hoping I get my asic shipped before its no longer really profitable or trying to get a repair service.

I just bought some off ebay for about $560 after shipping.
Craigslist has a reputation of shady deals, plus there is a certain amount of security risk selling in person.
I am still making $2/day off my Tis.

Everyone is ditching their Tis thinking the 1180 is going to be a beast, and I highly doubt that.  Remember the 1180 Ti won't be out for a while, first will be the 1180, 1170, 1160,  then sometime next year they will release their Ti.  Also the 1180 will be priced much higher than the 1080.  The real question is will the % increase in price between the 1080ti and 1180 be less than the % increase in hashing power.  If not, then you are better off sticking to your 1080s.  Something else to consider is with the mining craze, I am willing to bet that Nvidia takes their warranty for the 1180 down to 1 year or less and makes it non transferrable.  Where the 1080 ti has a 3 year transferrable warranty.  I know 15% of my cards I have had to send back for RMA, and that has to cut into Nividia's bottom line.

If they cut warranty to 1 year the 1080tis will have two years left on warranty.
Would make buying the 1180ti a much harder decision

I can't imagine they will take the warranty down to 1 year, if that is the case then ASIC mining has nearly the same warranty! Why are people speculating a 1 year warranty + no transfer on it?

I actually just made a video about gpu warranties & their take on mining & which ones transfer

Even at 500, I can't throw away my 1080tis. So much for equity...

Been seeing some people selling it locally for $450 equivalent value. The thing is, they are also selling it on a mass scale giving the impression the the GPU market is really being flooded now. I wouldn't be surprised if this also drags down the value of all other GPUs.

Maybe the end of GPUs is really coming. Hopefully i'm wrong.

Always get a basic Ebay store if you're selling large $ items.

For instance, a $500 item sold on Ebay without a basic store, the Ebay fee is $50.

If you have a basic Ebay store, the Ebay selling fee is only $30.

Pays for itself very quickly.

Selling an 1080Ti is probably as annoying as selling a sports car on Craigslist.

You get tons of emails and a few test drives from little kids who can't afford the car in the first place.

Basically everybody wants the GPU because it's a high end card but nobody wants to pay what it's worth.

You just gotta keep trying and eventually it will get sold.

thanks for the reasonable response. i bit the bullet, and decided to list them on ebay. sold 3 already, but they eat such a large fee  Undecided better than nothing i suppose. good thing these are ROI cards. been mining ETC, but at this point, im better off just dumping the cards and throwing that cash into ETC.

you know with the eth pill  they earn a profit .  I am mining mine .

the 1180 is coming and there is going to be a price drop on the 1080ti's in the next 60-90 days

This is why no one is buying them Wink

yeah lol even if the 1180 ti is $700 its a better deal, 1080tis are 3 years old tech

1080ti's right now can make so much mining. That doesnt sound right at all.

Tell me about it. I've had my Craigslist ad up for a month. People text me, but never buy. I don't get it, I know I'm priced cheaper than eBay, and they can buy it in person. It's a win/win. This is what happens when we rely on tween gamers to buy out our equity. They look in between cushions for quarters.

They wanna trade. Idiots.
