I think Kim Jong un has more pressing matters to worry about than bitcoin, for example witch family should he send to kolkhoz, who to kill accuse for spying, who can threat his position in the next 20 year and to kill him now or later, and so on Wink

Indeed, tryrants are not very bright i would say pretty dumb most of the times. But they are powerhungry so that give them a sort of "appeal" from their people.

If they would be bright they would not be tyrants, because most of the tyrants end up on a rope.

this is one of the funniest things ive seen in awhile, north korea creator of btc! lol i highly doubt this, but then again you never really know Tongue
Actually it is news like that are spreading because  we don't really know much about origin of it. But people will believe that there is some 'backdoor' or hidden 'take over' button somewhere in the bitcoin code.
And North Korea or whoever will be able to just snatch bitcoin in the future because of it.

No, The reason of news spreading like these are because there are too many conspiracy theorist out there.
The OPs tongue in cheek posting of this in that they're trying to circumvent sanctions and banks that now won't do business with them is a great thing if Kimmyboy needs to transfer coinage via bitcoin to pay for his loyalty bribes and secure the goods that he needs outside of the former banking system that he needed to help his cause. If he didn't repress his people I'd welcome him using bitcoin to handle his affairs. But, I doubt he's using it otherwise we'd know it by semi-frequent large transfers and reoccurring purchases of coinage.

That could be too obvious, he could move as little as 200-300$ transactions very fast like 100 of them in a minute to hide his transfers and fade into the crowd better.

He may be stupid, but i`m sure their central bank officials are just as good as any other country;s

The joke are rather some of the idiotic post in this thread.

Their system is a fail coz their leaders are slowly killing their citizens.
even treacherous defectors cannot deny most koreans support their socialist system as it does its best to provide for their every need

Though not directly comparable, the perceived approval rating outshines those of Western leaders. A recent McClatchy poll suggested only 41% of Americans back President Barack Obama's performance, while UK Prime Minister David Cameron scored 38% in a recent YouGov poll."
The Wall Street Journal, quoting the poll, says more than 81 percent of the defectors said people were getting three meals a day, up from 75 percent of the previous batch surveyed.

Remember hitler and stalin? Germans and russians loved them too.
one word: Führerkult

what are the chances that DPRK created btc? ~0%

Chances are high though that they will buy alot of cryptos in the future to bypass US and UN sanctions.

I don't think the North Korean would create something that they can't even control. bitcoin is about freedom, and freedom doesn't exist in NK.

Exactly you nailed it. That sums up really this question.

See communism is a tyrranical regime, and they cant even think about freedom, nor to create something that will eventually destroy their tyrrany.

Yes bitcoin is freedom, so all these stupid conspiracy theorists who think bitcoin is a NWO bullshit must reexamine the issue.

northcorea leader is dumb and he dont know what is btc Cheesy

Haha but it's not him running the country, he is probably too fat & dumb to do that. There are generals there and intelligent infrastructure people who could plan something like that, however as i pointed out, given that communist regimes are not really innovative its higly unlikely.

What I'm implying is that I think North Korea utilizes Bitcoins ;-) But that's just me and my crazy ole' conspiracy theory. Right..

I dont think so, first of all they could be paranoid about it and think that its a hostile thing meant to control people, and created by the "west" as they call it, so they would stay far a way from it.

Secodly, communist regimes are not very innovative, i mean it took them 50 years to legalize cell phones and let people freely choose what clothes they want to weak.

Yes they operate huge hacking networks but they have better things to do than to use bitcoin as it has only 3b $ market cap, if they would use it, we would see alot bigger market cap in there.

==========

However since most exchanges are in China, they could theoretically have a connection to it or own a few % points.

But it think its unlikely, given that communist regimes are adapting very slowly to new things and that they think its a hostile west invention.

What do you think guys?

Interesting. Well, I´ve always taken western propaganda about North Korea with a bit of salt. After all it´s very good for Uncle Sam to have this terrible bogeyman and threat in the area. Helps keep its vassal states Japan and South-Korea (both of which are still occupied territory) better in line.

This is coming from not watching the video as it is utter garbage.....

Generally speaking, North Korea has absolutely no power at all. If, supposively, they did create Bitcoin, North Korea still would be absolutely no where as they are literally a decade or so behind current technology. Whether they want to control economical aspects of the world through Bitcoin or not, in an under developed country like North Korea, they'll get no where.

More of my rant on N. Korea and the joke they've created.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wtb-amazoncom-gift-cards-1001357

yes, they are what I like to call a Hermit Kingdom, totalitarian state of mind, but you say they have no access to technology? Decades behind, so are their brains just not polymorphic as you and I. OR is it because the sanction put down by the Zionist Jewish lead global NWO causing this country to be negatively impacted due to these sanctions and other terms. North Korea just wants to keep its culture and way of life just as any other country. Just because they will not commit and let privatized banking infiltrate their country and economy they are suddenly evil! I love America but do not get mistaken when thinking of other countries cultures and how the 'American' way of life can be negatively affecting the differentiations in ways of living.

I see what you are saying, but, there is nothing wrong with technology invading their country. It would be in fact a good thing. Preserving a way of life is silly for North Korea. Technology can allow a spread of culture, not only destroy it. They are really about totalitarianism. Wanting to control all aspects of the lives of its citizens. Not surprising that they do not want anything new to enter within its borders.

Perhaps that approval rate isn't entirely unbiased. You know back in the '50s in Hungary everybody loved Comrade Rakosi (he was a Stalinist dictator) and the communist party won some elections by 102% of the votes, but all of this changed sharply as soon as the new management disbanded the AVH (State Protection Authority) after the revolution in 1956 Smiley.
