I think that it is connected with their good development of the militart industry. With crypto it will be easier to manage money there because it is anonymous. I don't blame them, if I were them, I would do this as well.

Mining will be outside soon and exchanges are nice to be here. North Korea is in front of the crypto's development and I am happy that they take an active part.

While South Korea is fast becoming a formidable force to reckon with in the global cryptospace, it’s North Korean brother has been more interested in using its distributed ledger technology expertise to wreak havoc on the world.

In similar, more law-abiding news, a report from Yonhap on August 27, 2018, indicated that North Korea may be looking towards launching a cryptocurrency exchange rather than the next Ransomware.

Maybe North Korea see a better future in their economy that's why they are not pursuing the opportunity of Cryptocurrencies. In the future, more and more country will invest in it resulting to further development of more cryptos which will be beneficial as a replacement to bank notes and local fiats. It's a good news for us.

If that happens it might be good for the advancement of North Korea, because as far as I know there is internet and the computer is very limited by their leader.
Cryptocurency mining requires computer, electricity and internet equipment and all of that is limited by its usage.

I think there is nothing wrong with that as long as they don't hurt any people. It is their territory and it's their jurisdiction what they want in their country and to be updated in a new technology that will emerge in the future.

I think it’s a very good initiative by North Korea. Many countries took this kinds of initiative and I hope Korea will do much better in this area. Korea has already solid field about this Market.

Are you sure of what you are saying about? Maybe you need to see first all the news about that N. Korea specially the situation of their people and other communication system of it. You will shock of how limited their internet to connect to other countries, that is a big question there.

But the internet connection on those area is too limited or I mean restricted specially if you are ordinary citizen on North Korea. This is a quite questionable specially on the current status of that country.

I believe that North Korea has much more significant problems with the economy. They have no time to deal with crypto currency. I think that their state will not repeat the destiny of Venezuela and issue its own cryptography.

North Korea is currently very limited by international laws and agreements and money laundering prevention systems. Even if they mine, they cannot withdraw it, or at least not easily.

I really don't see what the concerns with energy are. If people are paying for it, why does China care? Do they subsidize energy costs or something, doesn't really make sense to ban something that people pay for themselves. That's like saying you can't spend your own money how you want. What if you had a solar array, would they still have an issue with your energy usage? Either way, glad that countries are stepping up to the plate, even though cryptocurrency mining is almost dead.
Government has their own rules to ban or not, they have their own reason so its not always has something reasonable for people.
Although people dont like the government decision, but nothing to do because they can do anything they like.

I just read about the message from 2025, I do not know if it is true, but he succesfully predicted that price in 2017 will be 10,000USD for one Bitcoin (predicted in 2013) and he told that North Korea will be one of the biggest holder of Bitcoin!!! And maybe this is the beginning.

This is a good news for crypto. I think we will see more countries who are being hit by economic sanctions to adapt crypto currencies.

It is no surprise that north is trying to involve in the crypto market. But I doubt their capability to dominate the crypto market so soon. As more countries are trying to gain that position
