Hey iluvpcs Tongue

package is almost here, I have a lazy post office it seems, paid for first class delivery and all, and they left a stinking note to pickup at post office, or leave note in my LOCKED and SECURE mailbox (it also has LOCKED and  SECURE parcel boxes for which to place said package into, and leave a key with my regular LOCKED mailbox,) and they would delivery it on the 8th. pffft

so looks like I have to brave the frigid cold and go get it so I don't have to wait 2 days longer to play with the Antminer U1  Undecided

I'm so going to ream out the postmaster, my other ebay item wasn't signature requested. and they're holding it up as well. sheesh (they didn't hold up bulk rate mailings go figure) and they wonder why the USPS is going broke  Cheesy

why can't I have the lady who drove on the guys lawn?  in the youtube video?  Huh

Package arrived with the Antminer U1   Tongue havn't had time to connect it yet.

trying to locate my other ebay item lol it wasn't at the post office. I'm reaming them out on the phone now. with the tracking number Cheesy

ran the zadig program, changed the driver and a single stick AMU is running on the Antminer forked cgminer
1.6Gh/s with the stock  --bmsc-options 115200:20 --bmsc-freq 0681

change the bmsc-freq from 0681 to 0881 see if you get aaround 1.8gh   most of us are having an easy time setting the oc  at 1.8  = 0881 or 2.0 gh = 0981  .

I have 36 sticks going on a 49 port hub all set at  2.0 gh  I should get 71 or 72 gh.  I am getting 69 gh.  comes to  1.9 a stick  that is  with bmsc-freq 0981

Got my second antminer U1 today... Hooked up my 9 port Anker USB Hub a had little trouble starting them both up but finally did it. For some reason the usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports in the back of the computer still do not like the antminers no matter what i try. System sees them and so does the zadig but cgminer says no device detected. Oh well its hooked up in my front port untill i figure out how to have the back PC ports working with antminers. If anyone had similar issue please let me know.

Received all 14, got half of them working with a little bit of fiddling (waiting on a hub via amazon tomorrow for the rest).

Items were sent quickly and packaged well, great experience!

Sad I missed the price drop, but what can ya do.

Thanks for everything, will look into picking up some more!

That's the ugliest, but yet coolest, looking USB hub I've seen in ages.  Specs here: www.mondohub.com/hub_overview.php

only thing I'd caution, it looks like its powered with 4 AMPS at 5V, that is about 20 watts, or 9-10 of the AntMiner devices, any more and it won't be able to power them.

Hmm I'm not sure if thats correct they have alot of vauge / conflicting data on that page. I've only used it for non powered stuff in the past. I'll plug in 28 antminers and see if they work.

Power Adapter
Input: 100 - 240 V, 50/60 Hz; 1.6A, maximum = 160 - 384 watts
Output: 5 V / 4 A = 20 Watts
Up to 500 mA power, all ports = 2.5 watts/port = 70 watts

I had one for my usb block erupters, could only get about 18 to work at a time.
That is twice as many as I would expect it to run with a 5v 4a supply.  7 or 8 is the most I would run with that supply.  I am running 7 U1's off a 5v 5a brick and it is getting toasty warm.

Received my sticks. Spent two nights and finally got them to work on my Raspberry Pi. Thanks iluvpcs! Will definitely buy more from you if only I have more BTC.
Nice!   I have to work on getting my PI out and working with these too!  I'm using a desktop machine right now with a bamt build and re-compiled cgminer to work with these.

Not that I like to deal with Paypal, I do have a business account and have taken PP for a few people.  Contact me with PM and we can discuss off list.

The miner I bought arrived today.  It is *CUTE*.  It will make a nice addition to the collection.  It was a pleasure doing business with iluvpcs and positive trust was left.

The windows binary works just fine once the USB driver is installed.  Too bad for me I don't normally run a miner on the few windows machines I own.  I prefer to keep my miners on a raspberry pi.

Now for the bad news, and none of it has anything at all to do with the group buy.  What I received is exactly what is represented in this group buy.

First of all, the linux binary listed above does not run on any of my machines.

So, I pull the source code for the modified version of cgminer from https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer and the fun begins.

The first issue I find is a pretty big one.  The AntMiner U1 USB stick uses the same usb signature as an erupter.  This does not need to be an issue but as it is right now, it is not possible to compile cgminer to support BOTH an AntMiner U1 USB and and a block erupter usb with the same instance of cgminer.  Older versions of cgminer and bfgminer think it is a block erupter usb and does weird things with it.

Then, once configuring for the "bmsc" driver I run into some rather nasty compiler warnings.  one is true where the code copies 5 bytes into a 4 byte storage which immediately crashes the program.  The crash was disguised in a code update between yesterday and today as the device is no longer addressed so the broken code is never executed.  I will spend a bit more time playing with this later but right now it appears to be a windows only solution.

Ok, going back to the windows binary only release, the device is reported as "AMU", same as a block erupter USB.  Not nice.  It should have its own name.  Furthermore the stock "miner.php" script does not enumerate the AntMiner sticks.

So ... it is only a matter of software.  The stick I have is hashing at 1.55 Gh/s on windows xp running stock.  Now to overclock the sucka..

I'm up and running on Linux.  Also using the modified cgminer from bitmaintech.  Thanks for posting your patch to GitHub.

https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer/pull/1

It compiles and runs perfectly.  I made the same fix independently before finding your pull request Smiley

There's lots of good documentation from AntMiner here:

https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1

The cgminer command line I'm using is:

Code:
./cgminer --bmsc-options 115200:20 --bmsc-freq 0781 -u P2Pool -p P2Pool -o stratum+tcp://localhost:9332/ -D

If you aren't using P2Pool Sad replace username, password, and pool URL with whatever your other pool requires, of course.

All my AntMiner USB devices autodetected cleanly, and I'm getting a clean 1.5 GH/s from each miner.

Good to hear!
