I didn't post it here to  receive merit,  I just want anyone who struggling about it to read my post and help them to calm down. And I also didn't know that this topic is already made by the others. So I'm very sorry if this poor little post irritates you.  Wink
You should stop spamming Meta board with such really annoying thread. Please give Meta board peace as it had before the launch of merit system. The merit system is good in terms of motivating users to contribute higher quality threads, and control spammers to rank up, generally. In contrast, it leads to spamming endemic in Meta board. You should contribute to end this somehow.
Ok!  If this leads you to think I am spamming here, then I will now lock this thread. But lastly I am not spamming I just wanna help.

Shout out to all poser that always open up about this type of topic without considering the past post with the same content. Plus getting attention of others also to obtain a simple merit, stop that redundant topic. Move on and try to contribute a good post and be example to others.

i agree with you bro, let them do what they want not giving us a merit is not a problem like you said is not the end of the world where peoples without merit will be doomed. if they don't give us anything it means we are not contributing to make this forum clean from spammers. according to them.

Your English isn't as bad as OP's you just need to spend a bit of time improving it and learning about BTC, ypu have a chance to level up if you can embrace the new system and try to better yourself

thanks bro i'll take that as a compliment, next time i will do better and try not to be poor on the eyes of the people. Thumbs Up!!!

Why people keep doing this kind of posts to write how good the merit system is ?
Basically, they just want to show that they agree into this and that there's nothing wrong with its implementation. Maybe they also want to persuade others to adapt this new system instead of opposing it.

Every few hours we have a new one, maybe they are trying to get some merit? Roll Eyes

Maybe you're right but maybe not too. I don't think a person who posts something about his appreciation in the merit system doesn't expect a merit in return because that kind of posts is not really worth it since we can see lots of merit-related posts here from time to time. It's just that he only want to show his support into it.

It's really annoying to see numerous posts like this one but we can't do anything about it since it's their freedom of expression and we don't have the right to prohibit it into them.

I don't want merits, I don't care about merits, but I'll start a thread about merit anyway hoping that I will get some.

Does that sound like OP?

Yes. I was thinking exactly the same.

Something never seen on the meta section since merit system was introduced, lol!

The title must be "one of the many different kinds of merit begging".

And if you dont read the merit thread by theymos, FYI merit system not is 2months and not a newborn system.
No, the thread title is right but it's not his truth thought. If he didn't care, he will never create a thread about this. Merit is not new now, but it most appeared in Meta section. I hope to see one day is accepted like "Activity" and less posts about it.

Yes, the purpose of those who complain about merit is to increase rank for earn the bounty, but they do not intend to contribute to the community, they do not really seek to increase the quality of their posts but only complain.

Sorry man, you're Legendary already, don't need my help  Cool
That's OK, and I appreciate it.  They won't be wasted, because I'm trying to hand out my sMerits liberally and preferably to members who don't have them--and make really good posts.  Sometimes the high-ranked members make some really good ones and I can't help myself, but most of the merits I've sent are to people I don't "know" on bitcointalk and who look like they could use them.  As I've been running low for a while now, I've had to be more selective.

Maybe it's time to go wake up Huge Black Woman and see what she thinks of some posting here.  She's been away for a while, drinking at the casino.

I don't know, maybe it's me.  You don't write those words with the sense of outrage that someone who really cares about the forum would write.  This almost reads like it was paraphrased from, say, a user who has a lot of merit.  Again, this could be my persistent sense of paranoia.

You know I understand your eagerness to rank up because I have the same feeling, but don't be pressure to make a quality post for merit purposes, because if you receive nothing from your post you will be disappointed, and yes it did.  That is why you will make a thread to speak against the merit system.

I have been disappointed a lot of times but I learned to be patient and just do my thing. I cannot be disappoint forever and push myself but nothing might happen. Well, it happens, I am not the only one who doesn't have enough merit to rank up. I will just wait and do posting as usual.

After reading all this; I and a few others be like:
I'm one of those.  I tend to do a lot of reading aside from the internet, and it really is annoying to keep reading the same poorly-written garbage over and over here.  I'm a member of one other forum that could be considered to be international, and the posts there are nowhere near as bad as bitcointalk, and the atmosphere is much friendlier.  The fact that foreign shitposters get paid to crap on an otherwise excellent discussion board pisses a lot of people off, way more so than if they weren't getting paid I think.

I hope you may encouraged other pessimistic users here who stand in the opposition side of merit system.
A united front of shitposters isn't going to sway Theymos into rescinding his diktat, I'm afraid.  You people couldn't muster the language skills necessary to make a coherent petition anyway, and Google translating it would only reinforce Theymos's stance.
I have the same feelings as yours, The Pharmacist. Would you mind giving me name or link of the forum you mentioned vaguely in your thread, please. I highly appreciate your help because I wanna to join this forum and discover new things. Sometimes, I think it is better if I can change to other forums to see which differences (then find out advantages and disadvantages of bitcointalk forum), to learn something interesting that I can not (or have not spent enough time, or lack of necessary skills) to find them in bitcointalk forum.
Thanks.

There's no point being much interested in merits if I'm asked. Reasons being merit is not the sole aim of this forum. It's just an extra advantage to making the forum better. One is meant to learn from the forum then contribute to building the forum and whilst contributing positively, then merits will come. It shouldn't be ones major concern here.

He succeeded with it already. Smiley

I see no harm in new posts about merit system, provided it is adding some value here. If someone is repeating the same thing again and again, it is very irritating. If you find a person doing this repetitively, you may use the ignore option.

It seems getting Merits one way or another, has become a full-time job for many on this forum. Just to get some more coins from some project that will probably fail anyway. Or not. Good for you, guys, who am I to decide what should give a purpose to your life.

However it seems to me - and I am saying this after careful thought and without being too optimistic - that the number of crappy posts and spam has gone down a bit.

Maybe I'm wrong but I hope I am not. I think it's actually working. Smiley
