is there or has anyone created a script or a bot that automatically notifies you when your post is indirectly deleted?
So far, no bots have this feature yet.
But maybe, there's no harm asking if someone will make something like this.
I agree!
I know that there is no feature in the forum that lets you know when a post of yours is deleted along with the thread. is there or has anyone created a script or a bot that automatically notifies you when your post is indirectly deleted?
I think piggy and loyce were hosting telegram bots for this you could ask them if it's possible to trace the modlog for this (looks like it's "topic removed" followed by the topic number so I'm not sure how they'd go about it without using a lot of resources though for long threads - unless they limit the number of replies for the thread - this'd require somekind of archive of {topic number: uids}).
thanks for the suggestion but I'll wait for now. they might see this thread and reply what might be possible to do and I don't really want to bother them with something this trivial.
You could try using some sort of rss aggregator, like "page modified" that scans normal html/php pages and looks for specific items, as per your set up and have it watch your "posts" page, not sure if that will work. Or, along the same lines, use a simple scraper or automation software to check the same. But, I would ask the admins here first, before running any kind of behind the scenes software that causes extra traffic for the site. Just you is one thing, but if it catches on, then there are hundreds of people using it to watch their posts and such and that could almost double the traffic in some cases. If it is one or two threads that have your interest in watching, either add them to your watch list, or put that thread in your bookmark toolbar and use that as a starting page for coming to the forum everyday.
even if the admin allowed this I'm not sure if I can do it since I am not that knowledgable in programming nor in coding and will have to learn everything if I were to do this. thanks for the suggestion!
