The rate of LTC/USD is $30 today. Down from the all time high $43 about a week ago. But the important thing is the volume of LTC traded directly into USD and vise versa is getting bigger. This is to mention that LTC was usually traded with BTC other than USD before.
LTC is worth almost 43 USD today on BTC-E. While BTC has been becoming terribly expensive to buy, LTC is still within the reach of many of us and it will potentially be the next big thing.

One LTC is worth 9.5 USD as of now, an increase of 30% from yesterday's price! While BTC is so volatile today, LTC just keeps going straight up!
