With only a handful of coins rising again after the slide, the volatility also corrected the market. What really causes the coin to slip?

There are two possibilities or reasons for Slipping of coins.

First, of all let me tell few things about the market movement. I hope you know that markets always move in waves means to tell that they move in swinging ups and downs and here in the Crypto market you can see that Bitcoin and many other coins are rallying from the month of September and till now there has no correction seen and just because of that reason you are seeing this correction a little bit deeper and it's going sideways right now and we can expect to see rally again if it fails to go few more selling  days.

Second possibility is that after a long-term uptrend there is a possibility of starting a new downtrend which may run for another one year and if that is seen on the charts then you can see the bitcoin prices reaching again $5000 to $4000 price levels and so be careful while trading downtrend because it very important that you know when the downtrending is starting and when the downtrend is going to end this is the place where most traders fail and they hit their stop losses.

I just keep in mind that it's not new for market and after any fall goes uplifting. Keep calm and HODL.

It means that the fluctuations are inevitable especially the volatility of the cryptocurrency.  This will just bounce back after the corrections made.

Yesterday's entire market was in decline in currency values, but I think that's normal, and I'm pretty confident with bitcoin.

Pronouncement of the an influence people or a person can shaken the market. Mike Bell of JP Morgan said that crypto can be banned by the government.
Perhaps many investors take it as a serious matter therefore dispose many of their stocks.

Well the correction is expected due to the nature of the volatility of bitcoin as you rightly said, recall the price of bitcoin rose to a record $20K high within a shortest period of time  last year invariably the correction will also be massive as expected irrespective of whatever FUD going around, when the price picks up again definitely a new highest high will be formed.

It is FUD and I think this correction is very healthy for coming Bull trend. Remember to buy in dip.
Actually, this is a new regulation from China which is really want to close all the exchange and the blockchain related industry from inside to outside. People got panic like the 9.4 instance but this time it is real.
However, China do not have power to against the world, we always have solution to overcome this kind of situation. For a centralized government vs decentralized world. It gonna lose!

This is a bad news effect coming from China and South Korea over banning the exchanges in Korea and banning any kind of crypto trading in China. The currencies fall, lose support, trigger stops and fall again ... until investors decide to buy again and the market will rise again

Well if you have heard the news about shutdowns of exchange in south korea because they are regulating the cryptocurrency in their country. The hype of crypto is higher there in any country thats why if you have check and compare the exchanges of korean to other exchanges the value is much higher and some said they are using the crypto currency like a gamble. Their Government just takes action and i am not against it and i think its a good thing to do. Being regulated by your government it gives you an assurance that cryptocurrencies wont be going in just an instant and i think all of the countries just do the same thing but not necessarily they will close the exchanges while they are making some rules and regulations. And again the whales takes an advantage with these kind of events and made an oppurtunity but sadly lots of newbies got trap by these big instititutions and individuals that played.

I have never expected price to dump to $10k level after reaching $20k as ATH price. However as we all know crypto market is quite unpredictable so dump like this can be considered as normal.

There are still many new investors looking to get into crypto, soon exchange platform will open new registration than those newbie investors will buy Bitcoin like crazy.

Just ride out the storm.  Relax. No one knows what will happen.  Everyone has opinions.  Either it will rebound, or it won't.  Make your own choice to hold or sell.  It is your investment.

It looks like it is a normal trend to have the year start with a dip and market decline. Year on year the pattern looks the same and so I believe the market should recovers by March or April.

If you are losing money I suggest to just HODL and wait for recovery. I feel it is a good time to buy as well

I think it's a normal fluctuation. Most of the people say that China and South Korea Ban is the main concern of this downfall. Is this right?

It is a combination of events and some bad timing. We have some uncertainty in the Asian markets in regards to regulation and the Chinese version of Xmas and also people returning from holiday, who overspend during these times.

January is always a slow time for any investment, even in other commodities. ^shrug^

I came across an article earlier claiming that it was due to the trading volume decline. Here it is:

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/apos-why-bitcoin-ethereum-plunging-164800404.html

It says that Japan and South Korea, which is usually responsible for a large bulk of global trades, is down to only a combined 30%. I don't know if that explains it, but people really shouldn't read too much into it either way. The explosion of growth meant that correction was imminent. We're currently experiencing it. I have no idea why so many people are panicking when Bitcoin was barely worth $1000 same time last year.

I am sure that there are too many possibilities that is cause bitcoin price is down and we can only guess without knows the real reason bitcoin price decline. but we still have time to see the price is back increase and this time, we can buy bitcoin with a lower price because the price is down too deep. maybe in out there, the whales spread that bitcoin will end but I don't think that this is the end of bitcoin because bitcoin will always survive no matter it's difficult.

Maybe the big whales are on the move again. They are dumping and later on will pump.
