this doesn't seem to be as anonymous as it shows! because this service is following Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and as a result is asking its customers for their name, address and phone number and the other type of account with more balance needs photo identification also!

You are forgetting one thing if you use a product like this: You need a shipping address for most goods you buy. Even if your payment is anonymous, you must still provide the shipping details.

There is more to products like this than anonimity. If this really is a one use credit card that you can instantly create, than you don't need a normal credit card anymore (and the associated fees) and simply create a card when you need one. This way, credit card fraud is much less likely.

if i understood what it does correctly, there is no physical card. you open up an account with the site and then charge it with bitcoin. after that every time you want to purchase something that need VISA card you use your phone instead of a card to pay for it and the site creates you a temporary card to use and discard after.

Various wallet service providers were into this advanced payment processing method. Recently in our country too we got the access to pay using wallets. To pay we were supposed to generate a code from the particular wallet app. This code needs to be entered to receive the respective amount.

Usually when something like this new comes out the first page is full of scam accusations.  But not this thread.

The card fees are at the normal market rate but the card isn't that anonymous. I don't quite like the time frame, it should go longer than that.

It might be convenient but my guess it that it is a tricky attempt to get control over bitcoin by something closer to the government. Okay, this card is anonymous. I still think that if the transactions with it involve big amounts of money, they will try to find out who is the owner or just will take some taxation rightaway. And where can you go to use this card anyway?

You thinks its anonymous. It is as anonymous as the governments let it be. It can be attacked just like coinbase.

yeah it isn't if it work on the visa circuit or mastercard or whatever other that run with legal money, it's not anonymous, it's a way to say that they not ask for your id to send your money, but it can be traced, and even bitcoin can be traced
I doubt that visa would want to put out their cards totally anon so they are untraceable if they are fraudulent transactions. They would come back to Shake and ask for those funds if they did. And I highly doubt that this company wants to be liable at all for this.

Think about it. Roll Eyes

This looks like totaly new and interesting product. There are so many cards varieties on the market but this seems inovative. Just wonder if they realy offer true anonimity or the data are maybe stil available somwhere. And could they realy run legitimate business without collecting any data? Let's wait for some experiences.

Visa rarely lends there name just to any company to promote their services so they must be something special about them and what they offer.
You see Mastercard will give anybody their brand name to promote them if they pay them.

Yea, The credit card fraud was one of the main reasons why I started using Bitcoin. I lost a shitload of money due to credit card fraud, and I

welcomed a technology where you do not have to worry, if you bought something online and not taken to the cleaners within a month or even

a year after that. Yes, Bitcoin also have some risks, but at least you are in control and you can manage the risk. In the event where  your

wallet is compromised, you can control how much you lose... { by only funding it with the amount you are willing to lose } ... but with credit

cards, you lose money.. that you do not have yet... so you owe the banks.  Angry

Where is my ring of blades...
I have tried the Chrome extension but apparently it's unavailable at the moment and I couldn't load any coins. I also registered on their website and they prompted me to provide my legal name, birth date, telephone number and address upon creating my first virtual or physical card. It's not so anonymous any more. Also saw the fees:

Description   Frequency   Amount (USD)   Amount (EUR)
Virtual card creation   once   free*   free*
Plastic card creation   once   $ 15.00   € 15.00
Card fee   per month   $ 1.00   € 1.00
Redemption of unused funds   per request   $ 10.00   € 10.00
Bitcoin to fiat exchange   per transaction   1%   1%
Altcoin to fiat exchange   per transaction   3%   3%
Foreign currency conversion   per transaction   3%   3%
ATM widthrawal fee   per transaction   $ 2.50   € 2.25
ATM withdrawal fee in a foreign currency   per transaction   $ 3.50   € 2.75

Yeah they had a frickin' typo on their list of fees. It's in beta but still I wouldn't trust them with my money.

the fees wouldn't matter much in fact if they were really offering anonymous VISA cards and it would have come in handy if it were really anonymous but since I saw they are asking for my personal information to give me a card then I decided it has no difference with regular cards.

anyways I hope someday I can see a good service that offers real anonymous cards or at least I can see bitcoin be accepted so that I wouldn't be needing these services in first place Cheesy

This is the main reason why he wanted to load the detals in extension and did not have got any online web site. After seeing your experience i think it is much better idea to forget this offer and move on to some other sites.

This guy in spite of having left me a little irritated, he asked a very important question:

Quote from: gubatron

- What happens if I don't spend the money within that time frame, do I get another card if I still have a balance?

- What are the fees?

- What about billing address, zip codes and strict validation rules on some merchant integrations?

Unfortunately none has answered the Qs.
That's what i think, i had opened some bitcoin debit cards in past but i should verify the cards with my identity before get started with it. Though the concept is good but is that really possible? i mean the question above (billing address, zip code etc?? )
Anyway this is my first time heard this service, well after watching the video i think they might create another professional video, in order to make the service look professional just saying.

To think banks could have done something like this years ago, but it is too much hassles. You just develop a system, where the network create a random address linked to your main account, for every transaction you make. The address is only valid for that transaction. The main account funds that temporary address, and when the transaction is done, the address is empty.

I know some banks are working on what they call < Virtual Credit Cards > but I do not know how this compares to this idea. ^?Huh?^

I will try this, when someone has tested it, and confirmed that it is not a scam. ^smile^
