Any thoughts on possibly changing the name to maybe sexicoin then it could have an easier time making the exchanges?

We have been approached by an exchange, but we declined to negiotate on SXC being added until we finished bringing out a client that had no problems.. That includes the desync issue, and difficulty retargeting. When Lava has finished with the client his next project is an exchange, which will undoubtably list SXC.

I doubt changeing the name to Sexicoin would make much difference, and we are branding this coin to the users and suppliers of the Adult Industry, not the cryptocommuntiy. Our coin won't be branded as having something to do a precious element, or rely on rarity of supply to induce value, as it is not being produced for pure speculation, but will rely on gaining value through real world utility as it is being produced for commerce. We want it to be used as a currency, not a commodity.

Also, Try like hell to get this on any exchange again.
As far as I know, It never has been on an exchange, but I wasn't aware of SXC for several days after it's release, which exchange are you talking about ?.

We have been "softening up" exchanges whenever possible. As an example,when CoinEX lost 20 BTC while in beta, we responded by making a donation of BTC to help the operator pay out lost coins to his users. We don't see it as a "bribe", but we have hoped this will generate goodwill and make that operator more inclined to respond positively to us.

But we won't be able to get on exchanges as easliy without community support. If anybody truly wants to see this go to an exchange very soon they can visit this thread and vote for SXC.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2984683

Only four more votes and SXC will be level pegged with Worldcoin in popularity, and that makes our job to convince the operators of exchanges to list us so much easier. You can do that now

After the release of the new clients, you can visit the exchange threads and simply ask "when are you going to add SXC ? ", as having the developers the only people who seem to want a coin on an exchange makes the job harder for the developers yet again.

You can also put your money where your mouth is, and once we are "officially" approaching exchanges, you can point your miners to SXC and up the hashrate. Once again the higher the hashrate, the easier it is to sell the ideal SXC to the exchanges.

These things require so little effort individually, but collectively they would make a big difference.

Sorry if this is going to sound a little dense, I thought I could only have one Alt / Digital Coin's wallet open at any one time

Unless there is some windows stupidity at work I don't see why you couldn't have more than one open.

Any 'well-coded' coin should happily co-exist with any other 'well-coded' coin. Unfortunately, many of the alt-coins have the same fatal flaw we are working on fixing right now with sexcoin.( Hence all the buzz about the new client). The only real collision I could envision with a well-coded coin would be in the uPnP mappings getting squirrely, which could conceivably happen, but I haven't seen it.

Also the block-explorer is not correct, it is several thousand behind. 128927 is the height I get.

Any idea on when the new client will be released? The one with shorter block retargets...

I'm looking into the block explorer issues right now.

I have one hurdle left to overcome on the new client. Right now it is switching out correctly for both 'miners', and 'passisve' clients, but it won't download a new block-chain. The retarget will be included with the next release, barring any 'weirdness' Wink

Exactly,and I don't blame you or anybody else for quitting the network.. (blah stuff) ... If you have a wallet, keep it running.

Sorry if this is going to sound a little dense, I thought I could only have one Alt / Digital Coin's wallet open at any one time ~ I can't remember where I read that, but it was when I first get started about four months ago).  Will open SXC Wallet when I get response. (am padding my WDC for the last week as I've noticed a dip in it's Network Hash rate)

Any idea on when the new client will be released? The one with shorter block retargets...

I agree that per-block is a bit much, but "every EVEN block", with a 4-hour target-time... or "every 10th block" with an 8 hour target-time would be better than what it has now.

Note, since the target it 4-hours, you would not do a 100% retarget-level, you would only do 50% of the expected retarget. If it was too short, it would adjust closer the next time, and the next, and the next, until it hit the 4-hour expectation.

To determine 10th, is easy...
if int(Block-height/10)*10 == Block-height then adjust-diff
Eg...
Block-height: 223 [ int(223/10) = 22 * 10 = 220 != 223 ] No retarget
Block-height: 240 [ int(240/10) = 24 * 10 = 240 == 240 ] Retarget next block...

Could be done faster with bit-values of 8... with a simple mask or bit-shifting the block-height value.

But you get the idea.

Also, Try like hell to get this on any exchange again. (Other than the one listed, or having to depend on private deals.) That makes it easier for shops to accept coins as payments, unless you simply get more shops selling stuff that is normally free, using these coins as a bonus for other linked-sites, to more content. (Eg, convince them to give coins away to paying members, for use on other sites. Coins they got as payment for viewing content or coins they purchased from an exchange. Show them how simple it is to setup an exchange account, or set them up with one yourself, for a cut.)

This would make a great "contact me" payment, or "gift her/him" for an adult social site. (Like how OK-Cupid uses BTC.)

Yeap.. I really liked his motto "Sex Sells, SXC Buys", but we had to have a logo ready for the new client, so we bit the bullet..

The logo design stalled so we hired in a graphic artist.. This is where it's gone..

Quick update:

Working on changing the retarget time. Not a big issue.

Switchout is giving me fits at the moment. Mining clients switch fine, passive client are not switching correctly.....weird.

I'll keep you updated.

Also, I pulled my miner off to do the client testing. I'm sending it back in until the retarget.

i put my 2 miners at work, let me know when you ready to go back, Iwon't be here most of the extended weekend

Yeap the difficulty changed at 128640, we are at 128700+ now, and the network seems to be running right..

Well those surges are an attempt to shut us down before we get anywhere. The attacker probably prides themselves in shutting down alts that aren't well coded, but we know it wasn't well coded thats why we picked it up and put all the effort we have into it.

But I think, it's more about a sense of power, and feeling in control. we could do some doxxing and create a drama, but we have some big miners willing to help us out on the next attack, so it's better to keep pushing along..
