Still alive ? Look like you are burning coin for last 2years plan ?
The coin is still alive indeed and we are working our way through the burning plan.
NuDroid needs some love and it is not recommended to use it until it had some.

Still alive ? Look like you are burning coin for last 2years plan ?
2 year? the owner of this project made the last post 3 years ago, the last active was over 1 year ago. Is there any reason for you to search and touch a topic half a decade ago?
As a tip, please don't touch any topic like this if it's not absolutely necessary, although I don't think you have any reason here  Roll Eyes

A few exciting updates this time:

1) NuBits have been added back to Shapeshift.io again after the hacks they endured. This means that your NuDroid wallet can again pay seamlessly everywhere Bitcoin is accepted.

2) A significant piece of development work is underway to enhance the NuDroid App even further. The highlights of the enhancements are:

Release 1 (8 weeks duration). This includes:
> A. Skipping headers for instant sync,
> B. Adds Ethereum support through Shapeshift
> C. Adds crypto currency exchange rates on the homepage of the App
> D. Sync Nubitsj with Bitcoinj
> E. Change currency name to USNBT, before NBT. This to prepare for other pegged coins.
> F.  Addition of nuseed.nubitsexplorer.nu DNS seed. This will further improve the syncing speed

Release 2 (7 weeks duration). This includes:
> G. NuDroid's ability to also receive other coins which will be instantly converted upon arrival to USNBT.

With this latest release NuDroid will be the only wallet you will ever need for receiving end sending payments while keeping your hard earned value at all times.

Stay tuned for the release announcements!

The problem is, why not simply use cash? Besides from the obvious point that people discount for bitcoin...
Ok, a bit off-topic, but I have a few facts to consider:

The first two depend a bit on which country you live in but in more and more countries you have either:
- Money printing by central bank reducing the value of your cash every day
- Negative interest rates on your bank account
- It is not that easy to open a bank account for people in some countries.

Besides the above over time assuming more acceptance of Bitcoin and NuBits it is also possible to just do without a bank account and its fees in any country. No 3rd party is required to transfer money with Bitcoin and NuBits.

Im downloading right now. Seems like a great system.

So it's basically you cash in your bitcoin for some credit, which is valued in us dollars, which converts to bitcoin live just before you make a transaction?

good to see this ... The only thing i care for is ,, security ,,, any users who have already used this can share ?
Assuming you are referring to the security of the wallet; I can mention the following:

- It is open source ( https://github.com/Cybnate/NuDroid)
- It is based on the Bitcoin wallet ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet)
- We have two trusted blockchain servers which the App defaults to and if you wish you can run your own providing the best security
- Your keys always stay on your mobile device and in your control.
- (edit) The app can be set to require a pincode for every outgoing transaction

Will try to get some users to reply as my view is biased  Grin

We just reached the milestone of more than 500 copies of NuDroid downloaded via Google Play! Cool

Get your own copy now and enjoy that you know what is in your wallet and that it won't change value overnight; But still being able to pay with Bitcoins everywhere Bitcoin is accepted.
Just remember 1 US-NBT is always 1 USD. And that is already like this for over a year!

Download of the Android App here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.matthewmitchell.nubits_android_wallet&hl=en_GB

Exchanges to obtain NuBits here:
https://nubits.com/exchanges/nubits-exchanges

We are also looking to add new functionality. Join the discussion here or on our forum:

Just in general for all cryptocoins:
Don't transfer more money into it than you can afford to loose.

If you have highly limited mobile data usage, I recommend using WiFi for the initial download if possible. The initial download uses block headers only, but you can still be looking at about ~50mb of data to download.

how is nudroid connected to nubits chain? I'm asking because mobile data volume is very expensive where I live... does it store a blockchain?

Sounds like a good app ! What are the fees you charge for the transactions ? I hope its not more than the stable wallet charges .Does the app have transactions securly transferred without  a fast internet or on your mobile data like 2g ?

It's a great wallet but the problem is that it's not ideal for mobile data, especially if you're from the Philippines.
It downloads the entire NuBit blockchain Smiley
Yeah I'm experiencing the same problems .The entire point of a wallet mobile app should be if should work on the mobile data that's why we especially deploy apps on phone so it's easy to load pages and have secure transactions with less next hops in a network .
The network transaction cost is currently 0.01 NBT (US$0.01), but may be changed in the future as Shareholders can vote for a higher or lower transaction fee in the Nu network. The App doesn't charge anything. The Shapeshift service includes a fee in their exchange rate not different from their services provided via their website shapeshift.io.

NuDroid doesn't download the entire blockchain. On first start it will -verify- the entire blockchain though. This typically takes a few hours. Once the verification is complete e.g. weekly synchronisation only takes 20 minutes or so if you don't have the App running. Otherwise it will synchronise in the background, the traffic is minimal though, just the headers of each block.

A number of users reported some issues with NuDroid in the last few weeks. Please update Nudroid now.
It is available on Google Play. You can also download the APK from here: https://github.com/Cybnate/NuDroid/releases/

The release fixes the following issues:

  •    A fix for styling problems on some devices mentioned here: https://discuss.nubits.com/t/nudroid-v4-now-available-on-google-play/2436/6?u=matthewlm
  •    Show error when a Shapeshift transaction fails after pressing Send.
  •    Do not stall the Shapeshift update timer when leaving the application.
  •    Improved shut-down of the Blockchain service, making certain parts of the app more responsive and fixes an Application Not Responding problem that mostly occurred whilst restoring wallet backups.
  •    Do not close the app after restoring a wallet whilst inside the app.
  •    A few rare crash bugs, and a few code improvements.
  •    Also fixes an additional issue with restoring wallets.
  •    Added a secondary server by default improving the resilience when the primary default server is not available.

Is it similar to coinomi?
Yes and no. Both use the Shapeshift integration, however the Coinomi wallet can also hold many coins (multi-wallet) and has an built-in exchange capability.

Whereas the NuDroid wallet holds only the stable value NuBits, but would seamlessly convert them to another coin only when required on payment.
It is also more feature rich with address book, export function etc. It feels more like a real wallet imo.
