it's true that the number of bitcoin wallet users is still very small, but I strongly believe that number will increase over time.
Yes the numbers of blockchain wallet users might be small now compared to the global population and also there are other popular wallet providers too like coinbase, paxful etc nevertheless there is growing awareness about bitcoin everyday we have new entrant and investors coming on board to invest in cryptos I am very optimistic in few years to come the demand for bitcoin will grow in leaps and bound thus exceeding the numbers of present users.
I believe Coinbase's Brian Armstrong stated there would be 1 billion cryptocurrency users in a few years. With more countries experiencing hyperinflation, the demand for bitcoin should skyrocket. Bitcoin will always have a significant market share.
This wallet numbers is only the number of users who use blockchain website as wallet and users who uses blockchain app? Or this numbers is the total number of all wallets? Either is hardware wallet, or other mobile phone wallets? But even so there is a lot of people who use it and new people will come and use bitcoin.
One person can use multiple wallets and this means that number is not similar with the number of bitcoin users. Pretty much everyone has at least 2-3 wallets on their own, some even more and we also have to take in consideration that a big part of those wallets are lost and not used anymore so don't know if we can count them. 
If we take a closer look at the numbers. We can see that the numbers of new wallets are going parabolic in these days. And we just got to 35 millions wallets today. Just 32 days ago the numbers of wallets were 34 million, and just in the last 2 days, 120.000 new wallets have been added to the bitcoin blockchain.
i would take these numbers with a grain of salt. it doesn't indicate new users like the OP suggests. a single person or company could use blockchain to create thousands of wallets and it would show up in the data. in other words, it's really easy to inflate this statistic.
it's interesting to see the parabolic shape though. i wonder if there are other network metrics that might corroborate this. fees have certainly been rising, but i heard a lot of that is related to veriblock, as opposed to new bitcoin users.
Nonetheless it is still a progress for Blockchain, probably a lot of people still do not know about Blockchain, 35 million is a big number to be quite honest, and I think the numbers would continually grow without a doubt, no doubt people would recognize Blockchain more and more as years pass by. The potential is there, and even if Blockchain still has some bugs in their website, you can still see the growth of Blockchain ever since it was established.
Does it mean that we have 35 million bitcoin users? Nah, I don't think so, it's probably more than that. And as others have said we have users with multiple wallets so that number is not that accurate.
Although its good to see the numbers really increasing in years, evident that bitcoin and crypto is here to stay and potentially will grow in the next 10 years.

that is NOT number of "bitcoin wallets", that is the number of blockchain.com accounts that people have opened and people should not even use web wallets like this in first place specially since their system is filled with bugs and also because after nearly 2 years they have not yet added the new features added to bitcoin back in August 2017 called Segregated Witness.

I think those wallet numbers is just the users of Blockchain wallets. But I have seen other people claiming that this was the total numbers of bitcoins wallet. The blockchain wallet numbers count start in 2011 so this can't be the total number of bitcoins wallets!
I thought so,maybe those numbers are just from their database. Also let us note that there might be some users that uses multiple addresses. So 35 million might not be all users.
It speaks of the growing popularity of blockchain, and more and more people need to learn and use blockhain. I think in about two years we will see the number of people connected to the blockchain wallet will be about 1 billion users. A future technology like blockchain will attract a lot of users, the current 35 million is still too small compared to the potential of blockchain.

Wallet connected to blockchain is the correct statement but it is not correct when it comes to the actual number of bitcoin wallets. Majority of us don't use bitcoin core wallet just because we don't want to download the entire blockchain in our systems as its time consuming and also takes a lot of system space!
35 million is very very minuscule number and doesn't give a clear picture of bitcoin users. Even though I don't have any documents to prove but I believe the actual number of bitcoin wallets is at least 5-7 times higher than this 35 million!
the good news, if seen in the blockchain wallet user graph there is a large increase in the number of users to date reaching 35 million users. The Blockchain Wallet is the safest and most trusted wallet for bitcoin users to date.

Good to see those numbers but it isnt really that precise knowing that it isnt actually the number of users who do own those wallets, consider multiple wallets, so we should expect it would really be lesser than that.

It is not shocking to see these numbers since more and more people are starting to take interest on crypto and bitcoin. People saw a new opportunity and benefit in using cryptocurrency. Take note that not all that wallet is active anymore, a person can own numbers of blockchain wallet at a time.

It might be both since you can link your blockchain wallet on the app if you prefer having more ways than one to open it. The total amount of blockcahin wallet doesn't mean that each one of them are made by different persons, one person could have hundreds of blockchain wallets. The numbers are increasing every day but it would be better to show how many unique users do they currently have.

Unfortunately, the amount of bitcoin portfolios is not the most important, many people have several of them, some are forgotten or lost ....
It is more important how many people actively use their wallets, for example by using them to make payments, and these are much less - about 10%
