I don't understand why it keeps happening to your node, but again those two block ids are from the correct blockchain - at least on the nodes I run.

I am still not sure, who determines what is the correct chain?

i did a video interview with tai zen about how the network discovers the right chain. i cant make any promises but it may be helpful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzKyXzZJJA8

Anon, I think I'm sure I am not on forked chain. Check http://217.17.88.5:7874/

with base targets like those i would tend to agree. i do not think you are on a fork.

OK. So what is the problem? In public node i see errors for not accepting 90% of good blocks, which are good in blockchain, private node and public node.

CfB,

Is there a definition of the bytes in a transaction? I am trying to figure out which ones are AM and which ones are not.
I thought maybe doing a getTransaction call would return what type of transaction it is, but it doesnt seem to.

Where can we get a reference on decoding the bytes of a getTransactionBytes API call?  And is there anyway to get the bytes for an entire block?  Id really like to learn more about the bits/bytes of NXT, can someone point me in the right direction as far as decoding the blockchain?
Today is my first day stumbling around with the API, so not sure of any block format

+1 on this, I am very interested in starting to learn about the block structure too.

Now that Songs of Love has our landing page posted (with their wallet), I want to know how you guys want to handle it moving forward.  One valid concern is since Nxt has a wallet address for donations and Songs of Love has their wallet address posted, people might get confused.  Should we:

Continue to only advertise our wallet?
Transfer the funds to their wallet and use that one in PR?

It's not a big deal either way, just want to address the concern posted and have the community tell us how they want to handle it.

+1. BTW they need to make an out transaction to make their account more secure.

Really strange behavior with my public node. I see "DEBUG: Block AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA not accepted. Previous block id doesn't match", while block AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I see exists in public node recent blocks, private node recent blocks and in blockchain. How to understand these errors?

EDIT: Public node for checking http://217.17.88.5:7874/

What do you think about TaPoS?

@JL
@CfB
Would it be possible to include TaPoS into NXT?

I think nothing, not interested enough to spend time on deep reading.

I see.

To scrap the surface a bit:

1) value is not to have coins but to be able to spend them on exchange for other goods
2) as a consequence, miners should not be selected by their mining power (PoW) nor by their account balance (PoS) but rather by including as many votes possible (TaPoS)
3) votes are units accumulated over time by the amount of the account balance
4) votes are spend when performing a transaction; that is an account consumes votes when performing transactions
5) denial of service not possible because voting power diminished rapidly during DoS

I asked some questions; let's see what he come up with.

when i run nxt solaris and add my nxt and try and forge it tells me "failed attempt to forge NRS returned;" do you need nrs running to forge with solaris? if so that makes no sence

I think that the best option would be to transfer the balance from Nxts "own" wallet once we have reached the donation target, while using the SoL wallet in most/all of the PR. That way SoL will, even in  the future, still receive donations directly. I don't think that there will be much cross-over between the two groups of donors anyway: people who see the PR will probably not even have NXT, and NXT'ers will already have donated to the NXT wallet. So no real confusion, and it all gets there in the end.

Which brings me to some important questions about where are we heading with charity marketing:
Is SoL going to be the "official" NXT charity?
Are we going to make an ongoing commitment to them, or move on to another good cause after we hit the target?
Are multiple charity projects a good idea?
Does any one have any suggestions for another charity to support?

So many questions from me today.....sorry. Wink

Test Poll creation:

http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/

Only poll creation at them moment, not yet voting.. (tomorrow).. The results are not ordered by creation date, I guess CFB still needs to add this to the API.

Doesn't really matter, just do their address. You're going to transfer the funds to them anyway.

I thought maybe doing a getTransaction call would return what type of transaction it is, but it doesnt seem to.

getTransaction response includes type / subtype

Code:
	if (transaction.type == 0) {
    transactionType = "Ordinary payment";
    } else if (transaction.type == 1) {
    if (transaction.subtype == 0) {
    transactionType = "Arbitrary message";
    } else {
    transactionType = "Alias assignment";
    }
    } else if (transaction.type == 2) {
    switch (transaction.subtype) {
    case 0:
    transactionType = "Asset issuance";
    break;
    case 1:
    transactionType = "Asset transfer";
    break;
    case 2:
    transactionType = "Ask order placement";
    break;
    case 3:
    transactionType = "Bid order placement";
    break;
    case 4:
    transactionType = "Ask order cancellation";
    break;
    case 5:
    transactionType = "Bid order cancellation";
    break;
    }
    }
Thanks, the API wiki doesnt show this, I guess I just have to assume the wiki is not 100% accurate

Indeed, it does not have all info, but you can find info about all constants via http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getConstants
