any news about to resume the Byte distribution for WCG?
If the distribution continue in dollar terms and unlimited bytes per day, there is a potential for further price erosion because there is no cap on bytes distribution.
However if the distribution is cap in bytes per day, the distribution will become profitable overtime organically.
This new model of distribution bytes in dollars terms without cap is hurting the price in top of the lack of liquidity because of lack of exchanges.
If the byteball price continue south you ends up distributing more bytes, and if the bytes distributed hit the market the price will depreciate even more, then the next day the distribution of byte will be more, and so on...
I am not against airdrop, or any distribution method. But the amount of bytes distributed per day and years should be a fix number.
Potentially or theoretically all remaining bytes can be distributed in one day if the price of on Gbyte is 0.1 dollar.
This is not a problem. It is the consecuence of going against market.
If Byteball would have sticked to their word (by not cancelling airdrops), all bytes would have been distributed so long ago and we had stayed on top 10 from there to now.
There is no distribution method fair and simply. You have to choose one of two. Byteball chose second, and then broke his word.
That is uncertainity. In fact, this is the market helping Byteball distribution: lowering price to reduce $ amount to distribute.
If you add exchanges, you will only get temporal pumps and downtrend again. This effect will last until Byteball word can be trusted again or end of fund distribution. By trust I mean not changing rules because their are unfair or gamable:
Mass adoption requires wide distribution, that's why 98% of all bytes and blackbytes are to be distributed for free. The distribution is split into multiple rounds and in each round holders of BTC and Bytes are rewarded. The amounts you receive are proportional to your proven balances in BTC and Bytes on the next distribution date:
Even if you add exchanges you will not get rid of downtrend because:
- If the price goes up, actual distribution will last longer, with all uncertainity it carries.
- If the price goes down, actual distribution will end sooner.
However, airdropped amounts were not affected by price, only by bytes held and btc linked.
That is certainity. If all wcg devices would join wcg bytes distro, Byteball would be distributing around $8k per day. With a price of $140,around 60 GB per day, ending distribution in 10 years.
But if price drops all distribution methods speed up... then Byteball will, of course, try to act as a central banker, and then... ByeBall.
