One question guys. The whole chain/dag is saved/stored in MySQL/SQLite ?

On a full wallet, yes.

And this scale ? Any other crypto that runs their core in MySQL ? Any example, even in Blockchain ?

That was quite easy to initiate chat transfer from alt to byte. Thanks for earlier help on methods to secure. I hope to accumulate more while price is low but dont see how this coin isnt being more widely used given it has sports betting, p2p private, and easy alt-to-alt changes.

Hi I am new to Byteball and hear because it looks like best of DAG and is actually functional. I am about to try sending through the alternative crypto to byte bot and after I do so I am wondering what is the best way to secure my coins? I see a paper wallet import but dont know how to export private keys or secure it by any other means. Can someone help me while I get myself acquainted?

You 'could' also do a Full backup and store the encrypted file on an ecypted thumb drive.
You 'could' also do a backup of the SEED and restore later.

All very true but you must give them what they want. They don't want to pay 250 bucks per gbyte they want to pay 0.25 bucks per megabyte so why not let them have what they want so they dont support competing projects who will give them what they want.

I would say let them have  mega deal and just do it in bytes its obviously cheaper and better value so  why argue with the masses who want it.... let them have what they want will you.
...
To be super serious though.... let's have vote on the change to megabytes or even bytes ... this isn;t a dictatorship with one person holding all the cards and making all the decisions is it?

I would vote against.
It would go along the same lines of saying we should rename Bitcoin to mBitcoin in order to get the price to appear closer to an affordable number.
If people saw MByte and you even got all the exchanges to change, then people would just remember it being worth $250 and now only $0.25 - Looks like a big fail.
- Same as if Bitcoin was renamed to drop it from $17000 to $170.   The 'people' would think bitcoin crashed.  heh.

Check BitCore(BTX) ! It’s the future!
Good team!
Nice community!
World record- check what is it about!?

World record?   Uhhh, I checked and it's lost 80% of it's value in the last month.  20% today alone.  Future not so bright currently, but I thank them for the free coins.  I haven't dumped then yet, but should have.

I've heard you can link wallets on different devices, where would I find more information about that?

You could create 2 multisig wallets on 2 different devices with a 1-2 rule. So if you lose one of the 2 devices, the other can still manage your bytes.

Ok but if computer crashes and I lose my phone then im SOL? The idea of having something on paper or usb I can restore from is really appealing to me if Im gonna take a position in a crypto.

edit: Im unsure if this difference in extra security available by downloading full desktop client?

Also, could someone tell me the current DAG size so I know what to expect?

You don't need full client.
For security, write down the seeds of your wallets. They are sufficient to recover any bytes that are not stored on a smart-contract.

I think this is technically correct, but slightly misleading, as black bytes are not recoverable by seed, and require a full backup.

World record- check what is it about!?

This is the Byteball thread. Go peddle your shitcoin elsewhere.

BTW, if you are still crowing about your supposed 'world record' sized 3MB block, you should just shut the F up. Bitcoin Cash mined a 7.995 MB block within the first few days of its existence.

Now how about them GBYTEs?

edit: jeeze. I guess I was in a bad mood when I posted that. Sorry for the aggression.

Is there any reason to keep bitcoins linked for byteball distribution?

I recently moved some stuff around and the transition bot seems to be offline. I couldn't find any plans for the next rounds of distribution yet though, so was wondering if I need to stay on top of this.

The next airdrop is planned in March with a very low ratio (0.1GB for 16 BTC), if BTC and GB price stay the same it won't worth the time spent for linking.
An empty linked address is enough to get your blackbytes.

Thanks, I know the linked amount has been drastically reduced, but still, free coins are free coins Wink

I guess I will wait a bit untill the chat bot is working correctly again.

MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG

No, they go to IOTA instead which is much "cheaper" at only $x.xx.... without caring that it is a coin that has delivered NOTHING of what is suppossed to do. Have anyone seen where is that code that would run on microcontrollers? I have been trying to find sources for Arduino to no avail.... well, in fact, no source for any microcontroller at all. Not even beta, or alpha, or a fucking draft.... NOTHING.

That's because people are idiots.  The same idiots don't buy bitcoin because they think they have to invest $13k to get one.  Same for the stock market.  You don't have to buy a full share of Google.
I don't think those are the kind of people that should be buying into crypto anyway.

Sorry to nitpick - but can you buy a fraction of a share? You cannot, at least in my country. The smallest unit you can buy is one share. So the fact that virtual currencies are almost infinitesimally divisible is an advantage.
Companies come out with bonus shares and share splits to overcome the disadvantage that you cannot buy a fraction of a share. This improves liquidity of those shares.

No.  The smallest unit you can purchase is 1 byte
1gb = 1million bytes.
1gb = $300
1million bytes = $300

So, how about you send me $0.0000003 and I will send you a byte?
Oh wait, you can't send me $0.0000003.

The problem is not cryptocurrency.  The problem is that your country/world currency is only divisible by 2 decimal places.

Same for the stock market.  You are NOT required to buy 1 share of Google.  You can by $50 worth of a google share.  Since people are simple idiots, they say google is too expensive and don't buy any, because in their small heads think they need to buy a $500 share.  You don't need to buy a full ounce of gold.... You can buy a quarter ounce or 10th of an ounce, and yet, those same idiots don't buy gold cause they believe they have to buy a $1300 ounce.

Also - remember the paper wallet you sent me for 200 BTC can you resend a piccy with the priv key again.... seemed to misplaced it again.

Cheers mate...

In all seriousness though you sound like a nice guy... i just bitch slap my ups driver about.. fucking annoying pleb waking me up early to sign stuff.

Lol, so are the guys who claim to be “experienced” or “experts” happy with the publicity, adoption and price the past few months? I am sure you are the guys who never complain about the price movements or leave slack depressed because they couldn’t take the price action  Roll Eyes

Just because bitcoin did it in 7 years, it doesn’t mean that all others have to go through the same hardships for 7 years and follow everything bitcoin does. Others are building on the platform laid out by BTC. It would be nice if you wouldn’t just laugh off what others are bringing to this thread.

It is totally unclear who you are talking to.
