It's an issue with the wallet.
2 ways to solve this.

1) Send me your wallet and I will send it back repaired.
2) Create a new wallet on another device, send all your funds to it, then move the new wallet to your primary machine.

No SSD here, regular old spinny disk in laptop running win 10. Is there any advice for this? Restore from backup or something?

Tech works perfect.
For the fact, that there is no advertising it is running well, I would say.
Judging by the attractiv offer it is lazy. It reminds me a lot of the start time of Byteball Distribution (No media, no ads, no Investors).
The times are unfortunately so that you can have the best product, but without media echo you die poor.
But I think that will be recognized soon - marketing can be set up quickly. Therefore, there is so much scam.

Yes, that's a known problem. Devices with very low write / read perforance (i.e. mobiles) have problems synchronizing Blackbytes. tip: energy saving mode to maximum,
stroke from time to time (to prevend the energy saving mode), patience

I can understand that you want to remove the airdrop because it does not acquire new users anymore. However I think you should be careful not to lose existing users because of this. I think the majority of Byteball users are "people who have the wallet installed but are not using it often", as the Byteball economy is still in infant stage.

BUT these users are coming back on a regular basis because of the airdrops. They read this thread, the slack, the website, update their clients and such. The airdrops have been a big event that brings the Byteball community together at regular intervalls. Thats why the TitanCoin preICO was started at the airdrop date, because most people would notice it. It would be a waste to lose the conditioning of the Byteball userbase and the full moon meme that was so costly acquired.

So I urge you not to skip december airdrop or atleast have a replacement event. We already saw interest fainting when the last airdrop was skipped. There are lots of bling bling coins and christmas time coming up. For the average user its super easy to totally forget about your Byteball installation during two months if nothing is happening.

I don't know why anyone would not like fair launch POW.

IMO it makes the bar of entry that much higher. Needing to download the entire blockchain (which may be several gigs), having an (almost) always on internet connection, a truly top of the line system/mining farm setup and worrying about how much kwh you're using effectively disqualifies POW for me as a means to get any crypto for the foreseeable future.

U talking about in wallet bot. I'm talking about exchange where you have public addresses. Gbb is private asset. There is no blockchain to track it. So therefore gbb is different than public assets/tokens or gbytes.

I agree with ByteFan here. Monero, Zcash, Zencash etc. all lay claim to the "best privacy crypto" title but unlike GBB they're all tradeable outside the confines of a wallet bot, on Bittrex no less. I'm not that knowledgeable on how it works so I have to ask: what is it, specifically, that makes having Monero on trex still private but not GBB?

Reading through answers like these and threads like this makes it appear like GBB isn't all that private and/or won't ever stop being a really niche privacy crypto.

Incidentally also my PC wallet is now stuck for hours trying to sync and showing the message "16 private payments left". I wonder if other people in this moment have the same problem with the same number of private payment left (whatever they are, which I have no idea of).

My desktop synched fine, but phone and tablet got stuck on same multi-sig wallet.
