Byteball looks super interesting, why are there so many useless/p&d/ponzi coins making so much noise in the alt boards, that the really innovative and good quality ones can go unnoticed for so long?

Anyway, now I'm looking forward to the next moon Grin

i have a question, can we redeem byteball with bitcoin cash address, since they both share the same privatekey maybe it work too? or this is only for bitcoin? maybe only the address matter which is different for bitcoin cash

I don't think so. You will not receive any Byteball from a Bitcoin Cash address. Because the snapshot will be taking on the BTC blockchain,
not on Bitcoin Cash blockchain, therefore, you will not receive any Byteball.

Noob question.. how do you participate in the Byteball airdrop?.. people are getting this for free? or am I missing something? Roll Eyes Shocked Grin

airdrops are by definition free ,another distribrution  model would be paid like an ico etc

Okeeeee so you mean there will be something like an ICO?

Actually, you can participate and get those byteball airdrop free of charge as long as you know how to follow instructions in the OP.

yeah I guess I should do that buddy...going to read Grin

OK, I got headless up and running, couple questions.

1. byteball.sqlite is now 2.5 GB, how big is db in sqlite format?

2. RPC call for main chain index returns 348670, where do I compare this to see if I'm fully synced? It's not obvious how/where to check on explorer.byteball.org.

Bump. I'm up to almost 7 GB byteball.sqlite file now (and almost 4 GB log.txt), and main chain index of 821618.

I am participating in the airdrop since the 1st round. But why i was receiving black bytes at the rates of bytes?
2-5 rounds, I got 0.1 (was promised 0.21111) GBB per GBB + 0.0625*2.1111 GBB per BTC
6,7 rounds, 0.2 (was promised 0.42222) GBB per GBB + 0.0625*2.1111 GBB per BTC
Can anyone explain? I did not open my wallet for a long time. I did not get about 100 GBB in total on all of my wallets.

“The Future of Security Tokens”

UPDATE :

930773 BTC linked  which will bring approx. : 58,173 gb

and we have 365,903gb in circulation which will bring : 73,180 gb more after airdrop

So

365,903+73,180+58,173=497,256 Gb in total in circulation after give away.

Yes that's 50% of all gbytes.

Yes i think in this rate we will have 3 more airdrops
.

We'll see 1 mil BTC linked for sure. Byteball is starting to roll heavily Wink

Now we have flight delay insurance bot.  It's already added to the Bot Store.

Users can buy insurance in easy to use chat interface.  They don't need to find a peer, the bot is the peer that is available 24/7.  The insurance is a smart contract, hence you don't need to trust the bot.  It is almost the same contract that you can do peer-to-peer but it is composed automatically, users need only to check the contract before paying.  The bot also reminds users when to unlock the contract.

The quotes are based on real stats provided by flightstats.com, so they vary by delay, airline, and flight.  The bot adds 5% profit margin above the probability of delay derived from the stats.

The source code is at https://github.com/byteball/flight-delays-insurance, you can use it as template for your own bots.
Alright, that's how one can become the insurant. That's how I can insure myself in case my flight is late.

How can I be the insurer? How does that work? Isn't this an interesting investment opportunity?

Are there any development fund proposals for the future ? What happens after the last air drop ? We need devs and incentive to keep improving this coin. In this regard dash, pivx is really good, we need some system that helps maintain the future of byteball.

Now on Byteball we can create our own tokens. Soon, an influx of new projects will begin that will be based on Byteball technological blockchain.

It is sad that byteball does not have an option to create collateralized tokens, i.e. such tokens which are backed by reserve in some other token. Combined with oracles, this could have very nice use cases.

Do you mean that can be used in ICO?

I am not sure how this could help with ICO, but for example insurance policy is essentially a collateralized asset, which can be represented with a token. There are other cools applications like market pegged assets (see bitshares), exchange tokens (see bancor), basket tokens etc.

Yes, really a very good proposal, I think in time someone will embody such an asset in life.

hi

is the recovery seed enough for a backup or do I have to backup more than that and run a full backup? if the seed is enough thats fine for me.

Hi guys, i have a small problem which i hope you can help me out to solve. I had blackbytes on my windows computer. I recently swap to linux operating system but i also got a back up of my wallet before doing that. I did restore it now, but all i see is a 0 balance on my wallet. Did i loose all my blackbytes? Your help will be appreciated.

When you say backup, do you mean a copy of the byteball folder or the file made using the full backup option from the Byteball app?

Is there a difference in the end result? Which one is safer/better?

The backup from the full backup option is cross-platform, ie you can make a backup on Windows and restore from it on Linux. However, if you just take the byteball folder from a Windows machine and copy/paste it in the right directory on the Linux machine, it won't work.
