i linked my main BTC addresses to a byteball address generated offline
Does that mean you told the transition bot an address that isn't part of the wallet you chat with?

I agree with this. At the moment people aren't really incentivized to sell, they will get a 20% bonus on what they hold anyway. so if someone has 1GBYTE, and there are 4 more airdrops, they will have 2.07 GBYTE after the last airdrop, even without holidng any BTC.  That means that the price will have to more than half for it to be worth their while selling now, instead of later.

After each Airdrop, the maths changes. Next time it will be a more attractive time to sell, after 2 more airdrops, it will be even better.

I predict carnage after the last drop, but as you say, that is when the true price discovery phase starts.
This can go both ways: despite getting like $60 million per month for free, people are still buying Byteball. If the airdrop stops, there's no free money to dump anymore, so prices could go up. I can only assume Tony thought this through, because so far Tony did very well.

Yes undistributed coins are controlled by the lead dev. While distributions are on-going Byteball isn't decentralized, it's not wishable that they lasts many years.

Hi!

Great project, I like the distribution model a lot! It have gained a great community already.

If I'm understanded right there's still few airdrops before all distributed.

What do you think happens to the price after airdrops? Is it going down because hype subsides, or is it going up because there's not going to be new coins?

It would be nice if those airdrops keeps coming for years, so as many as possible can hear about project and participate also whales don't get so icy portions of network.

Is it that the main dev still holds all the undistributed coins?

Thanks!

I wonder if airdrops occurred at random times, would it have made the value go up more.

random airdrops would kill  it imo
people use their btc for margin funding on exchange loans and some people sell their altcoins to get more bitcoins and then rebuy each month
no matter what happened people would say it wasnt fair and that some had insider information earlier than others etc
and exchanges would probably keep more too because they could have higher balances in  cold wallets we likely dont know about claiming more free Gbytes with customers bitcoins

Can anybody tell me how much are the transaction costs in Byteball and Blackbytes and where I can see these?

Around 500 bytes per transaction.

Thx, also 500 Bytes for Blackbyte transactions? So I need GBYTE when I want to transfer Blackbytes?

Yes, you need between 500 and 1500 Bytes for a Blackbyte tx. Could be a little more if you do an exchange with a smart contract with a trading partner.

Feel like every month, there is a pump and dump for Byteball....

It's only to be expected, it's almost like collecting monthly interest payments on your BTC.  I'm sure there are plenty of airdrop recipients with no plans to hold Byteball long term.  The airdrop arrives and they turn around and sell...

If it weren't for them, Byteball buyers would have a tough time buying cheap GBs. In any case, this will stop in a few months time as the airdrop ends. Looking at the pace of Bitcoin linking, I wouldn't be surprised if the airdrop lasts only for a couple of more months.

received blackbytes at my dust address  Grin

i linked my main BTC addresses to a byteball address generated offline, so i dunno if i'll receive blackbytes for those BTC.  Should i restore that wallet on an online computer, send the bytes to another offline address, and leave that wallet online to receive the blackbytes?

How to learn more about blackbytes?  Can you do blackbyte cold storage?

What we needed to get BlackByteballs..?
I have got Byteballs but havent got BBB yet.  Huh

Patience Grin
I haven't received mine either. But since tonych did everything flawlessly until now, I am very confident to receive them in the next hours or days.
Just give it a little time, the Blackbytes (not BlackByteballs) are distributed from highest amounts to lowest (as far as I have read).
So little guys (or with many different addresses) like us have to wait a little longer.

Everything will be fine. ByteBall and tonych delivered every inch of their promises.

I never doubted on Tonych. Was thinking have I done something wrong in registering my addresses.
I got them late night. No issues.
Thank you for everything Byteball.  Smiley

I know its too early to speculate but do you guys think once all  bytes are  distributed  and dust clears there  will be a massive  sell  off  and  then  the true byteball price discovery begins?  Any chance  of bitcoin  parity one day  or am  I dreaming too much? Grin

i suspect so. there is a max of 4 rounds if the linked btc stays at 1 million btc and all balances stay linked. people will bs you with moon and doom and gloom predictions but ignore them all.

greed runs people and free money on airdrops fuels this. its a good method and whilst imthankful for it, the true value happens based on market when all coins are distributed.

so basically 4 months for hopefully more services, bots etc to drive coin value before airdrops are over. after free coins end its these services and bots that will drive continued use

Holding a crypto currency for a long time will always be successful if that scenario happens. I think ByteBall has a future because the team behind it and the real community who are supporting ByteBall are very dedicated. 4 more months I guess.

team and tech never matters its adoption that drives.
the wars with blueray and hd many would argue hd better but blueray was ultimately adopted.

holding long term matters not if adoption use and services dont win out.

i like byteball its great tech, tony is talented.

the true price will be discovered when the free rain per month stops.

id almost wonder what would happen if the air drops paused for a long time.... how would price go then? atm people are speculating on their 20% a month and gambling on buying more to sell more

Feel like every month, there is a pump and dump for Byteball....

Exactly because people just get it because it's free and they dump those free coins to get money.

But isn't this the entire reason for the creation of what alt coins were intended for in the first place?

This is how the stock market works.
People sell their assets to gain something they can actually use in the present.

Capital gains is what makes the world go round.

It also makes the Byteball go round n round.
All the live long day! Grin

Pretty heavy dump after this last airdrop.
Probably a lot to do with it coinciding with the general alt carnage of the last couple of days.
Will surely recover in time for the next one.

The last airdrop was pretty large, compared to the previous ones. So it is expected that the dump will be large too. The dump pretty much finished before the alt carnage started.
Byteball has actually not been that affected by the general decline in alt prices.
