RIP Mommy
"[internal] response timeout" every one of the 4 fucking times I've sent my signature to Transition Bot!

ETA: Force-quit the app and reopened it to find the bot responses finally show up.

Again: Does anyone know if it is possible to delete the downloaded blockchain, re-trigger downloading it from start without lossing account date or blackbytes?  Please tell me, I'm having heavy problems with the client.

I believe the Byteballs are stored in the DAG, so don't delete it.

Can you try this so that you don't lose anything:

Back up the entire user folder where all of the Byteball files are kept including the DAG,(should be over 1 gig)

Ensure it's all backed up / moved.

Now you can safely delete the files and restart, see what happens.

If you Blackbytes don't return then you have neutral news and bad news.

Bad news is that you're going to have to reload your backup.

Neutral news is that you have not lost anything.

I already did something like that. Also to use light wallet with my original Account. But Blackbytes were gone. As far as I could get information, I believe the blackbytes were send only once to a target address and inserted into the chain (somehow) privately only. The public part of blockchain does not see them.
I'm little disappointed that so less information is available in any FAQ page about those in deep questions, such as:
* Use case of Blackbytes; How to handle them properly; how they act inside the wallet,...
* Is there nothing like "blockheight" to be displayed as statistic how many blockchain parts are still left to download
* In regular intervals, the Wallet sends some Megabytes to a Byteball server, then it quits and must be restarted. There are not hints what is going on.
* Are there any "commands", similar to the bitcoing QT wallet, were some advanced actions could be triggered like blockchain check, re-download,...

Technically, Byteball are very sophisticated, but those blurry or not available information makes it hard to trust it 100%. I don't like to reverse-engineer the sourcecode to get more hints.

Are there any guides on how to link your BTC adress for distribution? I'm using nano ledger s for storing my BTC? How easy is the process?

Download and install Byteball.

Then load the transition bot link from https://byteball.org/ under the section Fair initial distribution.

Then follow the prompts.

With the ledger there is an option under settings > tools > sign message that you can use to sign the message for the bot.

Thank you! I'll try this out.

The main screen says testnet, but the wallet information says livenet.

Does that look alright?

Am I on the livenet? Or testnet?

(Want to participate in the air drop.)

See my replies in bold red below:

I finally tried recovering from full backup and it worked great. I have all my gbytes and blackbytes back.

I did this many times, the chain is not downloaded fully and after a while, error occurs always on start.

Can you PM tonych the error, etc... so that he can help?

Is it possible to send everything in the wallet, that is not up to date (maybe state of two month ago), to another new created wallet, even without displaying the correct current amount? On the faulty state that still works, it is ~5GB, but the address holds ~6GB to the time of now. I'd like to transfer the full amount ~6GB byte and 12GB blckbytes to new wallet.

I believe that you need a fully in sync client to send Byteballs or Blackbytes

Is lightwallet better? Does the lightwallet hold blackbytes?

I have not used the lightwallet but I believe it can handle blackbytes, unfortunately your issue is getting your coins out of the current wallet. Again try PM'ing Tony about this.
